Absolutely nothing.

But if you want to go in further in depth. Someone who calls themselves a gamer is probably someone who plays hours on end and only takes a break to take a sh*t, but really that's a "hardcore gamer". Someone who just owns a gaming device as a time killer like waiting for appointments or while on the way to school/work, that's more of a "casual gamer". Now you have what I call a "hobbyist gamer", it's someone who plays games at any free time they have, but they don't let it consume them like their hardcore counterparts.

So to me, there's three levels.

Hardcore: Obsessive with gaming.

Hobbyist: it's their main hobby and use all their free time to enjoy their games, but they don't let it get in the way of more important tasks throughout their day.

Casual: Occasionally plays, usually on their mobile devices.

It's yet another label that changes definition depending on context as well as the person saying it. It ultimately means nothing.

Misbegotten cad

Gamer feels strongly about gaming, and about gaming hardware.

Someone who just owns a console, does not care one way or another about games, or about the history and evolution of gaming. It all just a bit of entertainment to him.

So, in a nutshell, a gamer has a heart of gold plated joypad.

Contradiction x 10.

Absochuffinlutly. Thank you for getting it. Peace.

if you play games you're a gamer, thats all.

No, not even close. But thank you for your contribution.

Again another misunderstanding. Thank you for your time, happy glitching.

maybe you should clarify your question because it doesn't make sense to me, to be a gamer you have to own a gaming device, you can't play games without one, if you're talking about people who own a gaming device and don't play games, they are not gamers and they use their device to do other things.

Many sides to this, but to me a gamer is someone that spends hours on different games and not just sticking to one

Someone who owns a gaming device is just a regular person to me who uses it to kill time or something.

What is the difference between a gamer and someone that owns a gaming device?

[in My Opinion]

A Gamer can be as crafty, impressive, experienced modder or gaming's future hope as PC Player, OR with no mentioned traits, holding a controller, eating popcorn, killing time and nothing to contribute, in general, Console player :p

Gaming device is what separates both players.

A gamer generally has experience playing games regularly or even everyday and owning a gaming device just means you own it, it doesn't always necessarily mean they are a gamer. I know a guy who bought a f*cking ps3 when it came out for f*cking £600 which is roughly $750-800 and he has BARELY touched it ever since it came out, only a few times in 7 years.

A lot of people bought them for bluray, they were a lot cheaper than regular bluray players.

Not him. I know him personally. He got it for the games and ironically, he didn't even play some of them EVER.

How would you describe yourself with regard to passtimes. Are you a gamer or are you someone that owns a gaming device?

It's not rocket science.. Are you a gamer or a gloryhunter?

A gamer is someone who plays games someone who owns a gaming device is a gamer

No it isn't.

A gamer is someone who plays more than COD and GTA and will even take time out their day just to play for a few hours.

A casual gamer is someone who will play only a few times a week if they even have time with games such as GTA and COD seeing that they are so easy to learn its pathetic.

That's redx lmao.

If you brag about the game consoles, and game genres you play, like that ^, you're a sh*thead, not a gamer.

THE GHETTO JEZUS

For me a gamer would be a guy or girl who plays more than 10 hours straight ( or more ) off video games or known as a hardcore gamer.

A person who owns a gaming device would be just a casual gamer.

The bragging part I don't agree with but that right there is a gamer. The amount of games he has compared to the causal gamers that sit back and play COD and GTA.
