Xerukal
If the PC versions gets released, I'm sure there will be a realistic steak mod. A dead horse mod would be great too. That is painfully fitting to our situation, unfortunately. Anyway, I'm sure people will find a way. Tougher games have been cracked and modded endlessly. With some genie voodoo magic, probably. We'll see. First let the PC version be released and "broke in" a bit. So we can get a feel for the improved engine and whatnot. EditingYourMouth
Modded enough by the time you compare the PC version and the console version, you'll think it's two different games.

nkjellman
I get a feeling that the content creator may be a little more advanced on PC seeing as a lot of games that allow players to make their own content allow them to make more on the PC than the console. Also I think that adding content will be much easier based on the way they are doing the DLC content for the game. Rockstar said that they made it so they could add other locations to the game. This may mean people can make large maps far away from the regular map so you can fly between them. For another point, we already got more tools and mods for the console version than IV did before the PC version. Also GTA V seems to be more popular than IV. Another thing to add is judging by the leaked bug log, the PC version will be able to do next gen graphics as well as current gen graphics so more people will be able to run the game, and people may want to work on it because they may be able to make next gen quality TC's. Due to move features in the game modders have many resources to make some neat mods. Heck if the code for riding horses is left over someone could make a TC det in a completely different time period. There is even code left over for lasers so someone could make a future based TC. Also judging by the way the DNS servers worked before, this may allow for people to host their own GTA Online servers and make their own Online experience. Because of the way vehicle physics work in the game, I could make large vehicles where people can wander around them while I drive it. I can have a yacht and program it so people can stand on it and walk around while it's moving. I could have a yacht party on GTA Online. (Can do it on the sail boat that is already in the game but I want a bigger boat.) I see much potential for modding this game. I feel that I got a lot of creative ideas for modding this game than any other GTA. I get the feeling that there are going to be some bad ass mods for the game, and there is a lot of stuff I see being possible with the games resources. julionib
probably first "mods" will be to cheat online, would be cool if who develops powerful tools like "ASI loaders" and "ScriptHooks" make it don't work in multiplayer mode, but i believe that this don't will happen mainly because it depends on each people "way to think", Online mode will be a mess

cp1dell
As moddable as IV, or even more. The OpenIV guys uploaded the common.rpf to their site, and look at it, there are a lot more default files that you can edit - than you could in IV. Stuff like the wanted timer, amount of police, helicopter time etc. is there to edit. This wasn't the case with IV. Though, someone will probably have to rewrite a ScriptHook. Jimbatron
All I hope for is Simple Native Trainer. So much fun with that thing. This. Sjaak is a genius. It's great for making a movie, combined with the video editor. I'm actually suprised R* haven't created and official movie making mode, not that we need one with SNT, as it unlocked pretty much everything you'd ever need. Xerukal
Aye, the Simple Native Trainer is pretty much the only mod I always reinstall when I decide get into IV again, from time to time. It allows for such cinematic experiences that aren't linear or set-piece style. Ones that you just create yourself by using all of the different features. With all the new toys for us to play with in V, even without mods, the possibilities for creating some truly amazing action-movie type videos will be limitless. cp1dell
First of all looking at what's happening right now, I'm not sure if it will even be released on the PC. If yes, then it will be Fall 2014 the earliest, or maybe even 2015 Why, because they're not talking about it? I'm willing to bet they're waiting until they sort out Online, get heists out, and put out/properly announce the Story DLC before talking about the PC version. People have already found files pointing towards the existence of a PC version, along with GTA V stuff mentioned in some AMD drivers a while ago. So I guess if Rockstar isn't talking about it, it doesn't exist than. Okay, yeah, okay.

AirWolf856
Since R* are treating the single-player and online as separate products (at least it seems that way to me), I could see the single-player being highly modifiable but the online component would be completely locked down. If the online component can be modified, cheats will run rampant because that's the way of the Internet. The only way to prevent this is to completely lock down the files for the online component and protect everybody.

Deji
R* usually gives us modders sneaky little insights that can help us. If they don't do it on purpose, they're just really clumsy... but it's likely that parts of the coding teams like to show off or are more willing to "accidentally leave in" files that help us understand how the game was developed, which can make it easier to reverse-engineer. "Modding" is a vague category, because it covers all sorts... The textures, models and simple data file formats will likely be the first things broken into, as they're unlikely to have changed too much since IV and they're usually pretty to figure out to a person who knows what to look for. However, on the reverse-engineering side of things, which are often necessary to figure out some of the external formats by looking at how they're read, it's a much more complex thing. It has to start pretty much from scratch once the PC .exe is available. Reverse-engineering is like swimming in the deepest depths of the ocean in search of rare creatures. Unlike the III-VC-SA days, R* aren't using the RenderWare engine (which had been leaked and made available somewhat illegally), which means it's much harder to figure out the core elements of the engine and work up from there. Instead, we'd search for the more simple stuff, like how the HUD is drawn and crazily use that as the root of exploration, naming functions called from and to it as appropriately as possible. Anyway, I'd imagine most of the people would mod the 'less legal' copies of GTA V. Even after buying it on Steam for the multiplayer, it would make sense to get a 'less legal' copy just for modding. Otherwise any updates to the official version are just going to screw up the mods and Steam is going to be a major inconvenience. Why wait? Modding GTA V on consoles - it's real Just look here: http://gtafivemods.net Modding a console is against the console's TOS and is far too difficult and dangerous to actually do. The GTAForums doesn't support console modding. Modding the PC software is against the license agreement that comes with most of them. GTAForums rules are inconsistent and not very insightful.
