GTA V Online Freezing

Hi guys,

 

I'm new to the forums and was wondering if anyone could shed some light on a problem I'm having (R* are not a help).

 

I've got a 360 slim and every time I try to access GTA V Online the whole console freezes. Now single player runs just fine and the console connects to live with no issues (Can play other games online, join a party, and chats ect.) And I'm using sky broadband with the new hub and speeds are very good.

 

I'll run through what I've already tried:

 

~ Port forwarding (I've manually added the ports to my router which are required for Xbox Live)

 

~ Cleared the systems cache (Always seems to be the first suggestion)

 

~ Deleted the game altogether, and then installed others with a greater file size and then re-installed GTA V.

 

~ Deleted all game updates and re-installed.

 

~ Tried a different disc.

 

I thought I may have been banned, however R* have confirmed this is not the problem, and I will also mention that at one point I was able to get online by quickly selecting my second character and then once online switch to the other but this has stopped working (the console now freezes when I attempt to make a new character).

 

Hopefully someone can help,

Are you running the game via disk or installed/digital download?

I've heard problems on both consoles sometimes stem from the disk itself.

Hey man! I feel your pain as I was unable to play the game for 2-3 weeks due to constant freezing hell my game even froze in single player when signed out of PSN. Couldnt even play 2 mins without freezing and my record playing without freezing was like 20 mins in 2 weeks time.

I was so desperate and just wanted to play and my crew mate had the same problem but then they bought the digital version of the game and no freezing problems since then. So I bought it too and my game now works like a dream not a single freeze after I bought the digital version=)

Even the loading times are quicker now and I played 4 hours straight yesterday and 3 hours straight the day before with no problems at all.

The disc version may be overheating the ps3 or the blu-ray just cant handle the game no more.

I dont know but it fixed the problem for me and my friend.

Hey thanks for the replies, I'm using a disc and I did suspect this to be a problem however after trying a friends new disc I still had the same results.

I have ps3 slim 360 few years old and nope no problems playing online still runs like a dream its great to be able to enjoy playing again. Not freezing and I had it real bad before.

Few texture road dissapearing. Very little and its working great right now have played 5 hours straight:)

I really wish they would fix the freezing issue. I can play anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour before it freezes. Seems to be since one of the last 2 patches, it's really annoying.
