Unable to help a friend out with a car?

I spent ~300K on a Sandking, so I could give it to my friend for his garage, but I didn't add a tracker or anything to it. When he takes it to his garage it'll tell him that he can't store this vehicle in his garage? What's going on here? Did they make it to where you can't help friends out?

Yeah. It says 'this vehicle has been modified by another player'

 

It's to stop the rich giving to the poor. In other words, so your mate can't sell it on for $'s

Was it a duped car? Or was it from freeroam that you picked up? If it was a duped car, Rockstar may have patched the ability to give those away, if it's from the street I don't know. I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to mod and give a car to a lower level broke friend, as long as you didn't cheat in order to do it.

I heard some dude try to do this to his friend over the mic and it wouldn't let him enter LSC to sell/insure it so I went off the radar and blew it up, killing them both and hearing some epic reactions over the mic

Or tell him to snag a Sandking from the street and put it in his garage and mod it up as the money comes in.

 

That's what i used to do when i was poor and i used to be poooooooor at one point i didn't even have $125 to pay my bills and they shut off my cable and water and i couldn't get my car delivered

You could have put the modded sandking in your garage and then duped it to him.

When I was poor, I gave in to my addiction: Blowing stuff up. They pay, I don't! Now I made enough money to buy an Entity and upgrade it.

You could go to a invite only with the friend and have him duplicate it. Have your friend buy the 3,000 dollar rebal and park the truck outside of the garage. start a race far away from the garage. if the race is to close it won't work. have the friend sit inside the rebal inside their own garage. have the friend bring up the phone, under jobs they click on the job you invited them too. on the white screen that tells them more info about the job you invited them to. they hit on a ps3 x and right 2 at the same time, and let go. they will hear the garage door open but it will send them to the race. if it's xbox they hit whatever button would launch the race and right two at the same time. once it loads they need to back out of the race as soon as they can. don't start the race. just let them back out as soon as they can. they will need to run and get into the truck you made for them. this also works to copy super cars and other cars.
