Why do people think, that everyone with a tank is a moron?

People shouldn't be suprised if people flee from tanks since tanks generally (as already stated) have a bad reputation of basicly being douchebags. However saying that EVER SINGLE tank user is a moron is plain ignorance. Because there is a minority of the 'Twankers' that are actually good people that don't go on killing spree and spawnkilling.

 

Personally, I used to only use the tank to combat trolls/griefers. And I usually try to ignore players when passing by. However, one thing that annoys me is when people still start shooting your tank even after you've show that your're friendly. So there basicly asking for it by doing that

One time, there was this dick raging in his tank.. Had 5+ players on lock downtown somewhere. So I went to get my tank to help these people out. On my way there I pass a couple and honk to show I'm friendly and I'm trying to help. They start shooting at me..throwing stickies, grenade launchers. So I thought, maybe after blowing up the tank they'll stop. Not a chance. Still, I left them alone and kept spawn killing the ass that was messing with everyone. I figured surely after they see I'm not killing anyone but tankdick, they'll knock it off. Needless to say, they didn't stop until they blew my sh*t up. 90% of players on GTAO are rude, inconsiderate, thankless pricks. Like MrKush said, these are the assholes that shoot you straight out of a mission, that hide in their houses when a bounty is put on them. The ones who take cheap shots at you and gloat about it.

Sometimes I do like to get in a crowded lobby and use my tank for massive cop chases but most players instantly try to kill me. It doesn't take long for someone to sneak attack me off the radar with a tank or for a poorly aimed Buzzard missile to fly a block away from me. I even try to avoid going near other players but once I'm attacked I do kill them for a while. I usually get messages calling me a fag or them asking me to stop (but still calling me a fag) and I tell them to just leave the lobby because I didn't start any conflict.

 

If you do see a tank just leave it alone. If its a friendly tank (inb4 comments on that) he will be happy that nobody is trying to blow him up just because he's in a tank. If its a douchebag tank user he will desperately try to chase you down but he's in a tank so he cant and he will eventually get frustrated and leave the lobby. Now jet users are another story...

Because people are idiots, why do we have to go in single player or an invite only session to go in a tank? I don't kill anyone with it unless they gave me a reason, and in single player, it feels more lonely without other players, and anyways, it's their fault they come close, these guys kept staying close to me, then tried to steal the tank or blow it up, no reason at all. And that guy who doesn't believe friendly-tankers exist, get out

Go get a life if you feel lonely. YOU don't kill anyone unless they gave you a reason, every one else does it even without a reason.

@Zephyrr, I do have a life, I meant the game doesn't feel alive when it's only you in it, but more alive with other players
