They just cut the entire game in pieces and let you download piece by piece. Basically you paid the original price for a unfinished game, and then download the crap-like unfinished part which is stated as a "free dlc".

Paid 15 for first DLC map pack, paid 15 bucks for second DLC map pack, paid for all the new skins and personalization packs and extra slots 25 buck (or so) and it's only at the half year mark. By the end of the year the tally will have doubled, reaching a price far more than I paid for the original game.

 

So, yeah, look at this as a free lesson of what free DLC is, and what for cost DLC is. You're welcome.

I'm actually looking at my shelf of games and i don't have a EA game apart from fifa, from like 3 years ago. But yeah i hear their battlefield dlc rape is pretty bad. But Activision started it.

I agree but if you look at the whole theme of gta v its pretty much about money & greed. Also the vast majority of people who play gta online believe that the more expensive something is the better and that demographic is who R* reaches out to the most. I personally would like to see a biker, sports, fighting/martial arts, tactical/military, and lowrider dlc be added to this game but i just don't see it happening as most don't care about all of the above.

In answer to the OP, not really, depending on the eventual content of the DLC.

To put it simply:

Business Update = Jordan Belfort

 

High Life Update = Hugh Hefner (...maybe)


Or put another way - there's a world of difference between being a high-flying 'suit', and living a big-money lifestyle, although there's understandably going to be some blurring between the two in certain respects (same way that most totalitarian dictators wind up looking pretty similar, despite whatever original ideology they started from, before going bat-sh*t INSANE).

First, to answer the question: I don't know... In fact, none of us do.

 

Nobody knows what all will be included in the High Life Update, because it isn't out yet. So, it's not really possible to compare it to the Business Update at this stage. All's people can really compare is what we know came in the Business Update and let our imaginations go wild with what "High Life" could mean.

 

It might be similar to the Business Update, which, personally, I would be fine with, as I liked the Business Update. But, to praise or condemn the content based on nothing more than the info we have currently (which is very little) is pretty silly, IMO.

 

The great thing about it is: If you don't like the stuff offered, you don't have to buy any of it. So, I don't get where the whole "They're forcing us to buy cash cards" comes from. You don't have to own every car offered nor do you have to buy every stitch of clothing in the game. In fact, when Rockstar gave everyone everything for free (in the Beach Bum Update) people crapped all over it.

 

Regardless of what is or isn't in the update, some people are gonna find something to bitch about. Whether it's because the update didn't include what they wanted, one (or more) of the new vehicles costs "too much," the new apartments aren't in places that they want, they can't change the pillows on the couch in the apartment to their desired color, or that they're being charged double for utility fees, because they now own two apartments...

 

All while neglecting the fact that they don't have to spend a dime of real money or GTA money on any of it if they choose not to.

yea as much as i like free dlc i do want either a military pack with military uniforms weapons and vehicles like the hydra. or a desert pack with a revolver some offroading cars and maybe even a lever action rifle like rdr. and some houses in the desert
