I can finally play again:) No more freezes even the loading times are much shorter.. The game now runs like a dream. I am so happy! Also I am sorry everyone that I've been acting like a dick lately on the forums I've been so upset and angry. Love you all<3 :inlove:

I just froze twice about 30 minutes ago on my FAT ps3.

 

Now, I've been playing on my friends' Slim with zero issues. I think my fat ps3 might be dying :(

The same thing worked for my crew mate just bought the digital version and problem solved. The blu-ray still runs older games just fine but it just couldnt handle GTA no more it seems. And yes it all started after the 1.11 patch..

might have to buy the digital version then since I get ridiculous amount of freezes per day plus lots of texture pop ins

This. Seems kinda silly to jump ship to a new version for lag caused issues.

It might be silly to you but I just wanted to play the game so bad + I had the money so why not and im the crew leader so I need to be there for my crew mates.

I've been using the digital version the whole time and have never crashed until 1.12. Also, the digital version has more pop-in rendering. I don't think the digital version is any less prone to crashes.

^ Ok, lets hope 1.13 will at least try to fix this issue. If not then that'll just be unfortunate since freezing is very aggravating. I'd rather get a network error instead of that. Reseting your console 9 times a day is not good at all

I couldnt play at all it was so bad it even froze in single player when I was signed out of PSN so maybe my blu-ray was really finished :rol:

Yes older games that I tried worked but gta might be more heavy for the blu-ray pushing it to the limits maybe overheating I dont know.

What I do know is its now working like a dream not a single freeze quicker loading times no lag etc.. Im not an expert on these things but now at least i can play :colgate:

Not a 'Digital or Blu-ray' issue, that's all made up. May be a hardware-specific issue though.

 

On my Fat PS3, the game freezes between 5-10 minutes into the game (as textures slowly unload and/or appear in very low resolution until inevitable freeze).

 

On my friend's Slim PS3, I've been playing 3 hours so far no issues.
