Would there be more trust in-game if.......

I am just thinking out loud on this thread, and idc if people don't like this topic. I was just thinking that this game has so little trust and sanity and comradeship, everyone in free roam just want to kill one and another and no-one tries to team up unless they are already part of a set group or crew or from same friend list. I kept thinking why that is and well I realized it could be because of how tough cops are in the game. People love to kill and destroy properties etc in-game whether its online or SP, but what I have noticed is cops are quite slow on reacting when you take out fellow players or their property but are very very quick to jump on you if you take out civilian or civilian vehicles, and they are relentless and at some point become impossible to beat whether you are trying to take them out or flee from them (4-5 stars is a joke in the game might as well nuke us as they'd kill us instantly instead of dragging it out). So instead of dealing with the messy cops we end up just hunting for fellow players on the map as its less havoc to deal with and more chances of surviving those killing sprees.

 

So would there be more trust in-game if the cops were easier to deal with or reacted like maniacs less often in-game? Please share your thoughts on this rant of mine, thanks.

It's too late. In october when the game first launched one man decided to kill another man countless times, that man then got the kill or be killed mentality and followed suit. Yada yada yada, now here we are.

I usually see who the highest ranked player is and hunt them.

The cops are push overs. What ARGH ya talkin bout?

 

We have Lester's remove wanted level and no cops for 3 minutes options. I think people's problem with the police is that they want to just ignore them when they're in free roam battles with other players. No. You have to kill them too. And in most situations you have to kill them before you can kill your real opponent.

 

The cops just add another level of tactics and strategy to free roam battles. Hell, sometimes I call the cops myself just to buy some time or plan my next move while the enemy fights with the police.

I totally know what you mean. Yesterday I was farming the RR missions and somewhere in middle I had to step away for a couple minutes to get some work done, so I thought I'd leave the missions screen on so some players can join me on the next RR mission. When the missions started these guys had no strategy first guy went shooting into the rooms, the other guy stole my car and drove to the back exit (which is fine idc) then killed everyone took the package drove off with his friend the two of them went till madrazo's house. That's where those two guys like the assholes they are for no reason decided to step out of the car they took and decide it to blow it up, and here is the kicker these morons ended up destroying my vehicle while killing either both of themselves or just the guy who was holding the package which somehow ended up destroying the package too and we failed the mission. I could understand making small dick moves in the game but why go through such a long extent to be an asshole in the game. What do these f*ckers get from acting this way.

If that's what you want your experience of online gaming to be, then that is your prerogative and I'm not suggesting people change. Just know that you are ruining other people's experiences for your own gratification. If the tables were turned you would get no sympathy from anyone with that mentality. Online gaming / multiplayer isn't meant to be selfish, it's meant for sharing entertainment in a positive manner. Banter is awesome, I love mowing my friends down and accidentally-on-purpose blowing them up, but genuine asshole behaviour is not necessary in my opinion.

I think you have a point actually. The problem, besides micropenis players who need to kill others for self-esteem, is there is no common adversary. If it were more fun to join up and wreck the police, people would probably do it. Some of the most fun I had with my friends (before they all quit ) was rampaging against the cops, but they are way too OP. At least the helicopter snipers are bullsh*t. Headshot around a jet while I'm jumping out before I've even pulled my chute while swinging upwards in the heli... yeah okay.

exactly I mean I loved those hijacking p-966 lazer free roam missions we all took part in intially, but they toughened the cops even more later and tanks spawned in the later sessions like someone was pouring them into the game, and most sessions out of 6 we'd have 2 that safely got a plane (I think they made it easier now, but most of the fellow players I played with have quit the game ) Edited April 16, 2014 by WBaker

I seriously doubt cops have anything to do with how people act. If anything it keeps people in check cause they don't feel like dealing with them and their magical spawn-in-front-of-you-forever-on-one-star tactics.

 

Problem with people in this game is everyone is either too bloodthirsty, or can't let anything go.

 

You get one kill on a guy as you drive-by, suddenly that revenge mindset takes over and all hell breaks loose and he's chasing you all across Los Santos, and if they fail several times they'll just up their efforts, till they get the kill. or rage-quit.

 

 

Now there WOULD be more trust, if people didn't think just cause they're strapped means they have to fire a shot at someone all the time. It's rare I ever go anywhere without at least 3 people wanting to shoot at me for no f**kin reason when I customizing my cars.

More efficient to do that in DMS and Captures though.

 

Anyway, behaviour would take a turn for the worse if cops were toned down significantly or removed altogether. Their primary function is a deterrent to douchebaggery in free roam, and given how often people complain about the cops being annoying, it would seem they are serving that function well enough.

idk, just feel like all past games I enjoyed facing of against the cops and having a common enemy to kill time with, even in story mode I can got for a 30mins with the invincibility save editor on and take on the 5 star cops and have a blast doing it. But without the infinite health or the manageable cops from past GTA, cops are less of an entertainment and more of a serious headache in this game, I've actually had cops spring on me for knocking a guy out with my fist or staring at a cop, so yeah in online I just get this don't touch or shoot anyone except other player vibe all the time.

it's more to do with just being a boring player

 

i've left crews only BECAUSE they were nothing but braindead baboons with guns

 

i'm not against killing players, but man, it gets old when all we do is try to clear out servers
