Kampioen
I haven't played single player in a long time, but back when I did I was very frustrated with the fact that my characters changed their clothes all the time. It made the whole system of buying and choosing clothes completely useless for me. The worst part was Franklin's favorite choice of clothes, he loved to wear the baggy jeans with the underwear sticking out on top, combined with a nice dress shirt tucked INTO HIS MOTHERf*ckING UNDERWEAR! Have they done anything about it at all? visionist, LosSantosKing and Overmenneske
Cutter De Blanc
Nope. Franklin still wears that ugly ass purple dress shirt that isn't even in his wardrobe. Dangerous and sad
Kampioen
God damn it. Who the hell thought it was a good idea to introduce a comprehensive clothing system, and then have the characters change their clothes at random? We should have been able to put together outfits which the characters will choose from if they want them to change clothes. This is a huge design flaw IMO. Voggs
I don't think it will be patched, because when a couple of in-game hours pass they "continue doing their lives". I always change clothes when switching to Franklin, he's always wearing the CJ shirt with short pants, but sometimes he still uses what I bought for him. Trevor always is using the clothes that I bought, except when he wakes up on a mountain or shouting to the sky like a wolf. ED: *****ng phone changing and adding words. Cutter De Blanc
Trevor generally won't change his clothes unless you change them. He'll either be naked, wearing a dress, or chasing his scooter brother, those are the only times he'll change.

Cutter De Blanc
Also, all 3 characters go back immediately to their default outfits if you leave them naked. Udrift
Kampioen
So do you guys keep changing your characters' clothes back, or do you just write off the whole clothing system as a loss like I do? underwear sticking out on top, combined with a nice dress shirt tucked INTO HIS MOTHERf*ckING UNDERWEAR! #ThugLyfe#BornInTheGhetto#NiggasInDaMist #Youredoingitwrong #Downsyndromestyle #sh*tstainsondressshirt Edited April 13, 2014 by CenMan
restlessmind
Yeah, it's still there. The funniest thing though is that some parts don't change. For example I changed Trevor into his wharfies outfit (hi vis vest, beanie, baggy pants) and no matter what he changes into he keeps his beanie. Looks badass with the beard. And yeah Franklin has bad taste. Keeps changing into cheap clothes regardless of what he's bought lately. Kind of wishing there was a 'give away clothes' feature.. warlord GTAV and Luddite

warlord GTAV
most crackheads stay in the same clothes for days on end so kudos to rockstar for atleast making trevor the true meth head he is,,it would be good to have an option in the wardrobe to turn of auto clothes changes, its fukn annoying when you switch and have to go and get changed because mick is in his gay tennis clothes or frank has his sh*t outfits he dresses himself in Cutter De Blanc and fac316
Cutter De Blanc
It's really the most annoying with Franklin. Michael is usually either home or pretty close to his house when I switch to him. Franklin though, if he isn't home he's on the other side of the goddamn city wearing that f*cking purple stripe dress shirt that should get him the sh*t beat out of him if he wore it anywhere near the Families. I always have him with some thug ass bald haircut and stubble, so he just ends up looking like a total dipsh*t. Least the motherf*cker gets free cab rides. God knows I use them. .Emmi
An option to disable this could be useful but all in all I think it adds to the realism of the game and it's a bit of a surprise factor also ... like I wonder which clothes Franklin is wearing now, etc. That said I don't mind this feature. autotheftgrand
I've wished they had a 'remove clothes from wardrobe' option since day 1. Most of Franklin's clothes he starts with are weak, can't stand his sneaker collection and the way he's always wearing suit pants with the yellow check shirt, it hurts my eyes. soundless248 and Bonnano

Hodgey.
I really dont mind it for the most part as it makes it feel like the characters are having active lives when you are not controlling them. The only time it really annoys me is when you switch to Trevor and he is just in his underpants and is quite some way away from the nearest clothing store/safehouse. Real_Badgirl
This really doesn't bother me very much, as it adds realism when the characters change clothes on their own. That being said, I don't like it when I switch to Micheal and he has flip flops on, because I hate flip flops. The Dedito Gae

I wouldn't mind it at all - in fact I'd love it - if the characters chose from outfits that I put together. Unfortunately our characters have horrible taste, and it seems like Franklin still needs help dressing himself in the morning, the way he stuffs his shirt into his underwear. This isn't customization. Cutter De Blanc
Bonnano
It's not realism, it's autism (it rhymes yay). Who the flying f*ck wears a black hoodie with gray checkered suit trousers around the house. And don't even remind me of those fugly as f*ck stuck-in-1999-timewarp default red-laced sneakers he keeps wearing with that sh*tty yellow shirt. Im2akillerfish
Trevor wears what I tell him to wear, most of the time. Michael changes, but He is usually near his home so I can change. Franklin? Wears the worst possible clothing combinations when far away form his home, when on his home he wears what he used before. Brown skinny jeans, cap backwards, Big glasses and a blue jacket wont get you ladies, Frank! Cutter De Blanc

I guess R* made him more ''accurate'' to his personality. So his AI got no Clothing change. But like Voggens said, he does change when he screams like a retarded wolf to the sky, and when he is on the mountain.
wiizardii
But In topic, It is very f*cking annoying. Mostly with that bitch boy Franklin. Whenever I switch to that idiot he is either in a bar far from his f*cking house, and says ''sh*t I am drunk, but I aint getting drunker'' Or something stupid like that. Not that is the only thing that is stupid and boring, but he always wears the most sh*tty clothes ever. For some reason, to me he always wears the grey suit pants with a f*cking green hoodie and a hat. WHO in the blue hell wears something sh*tty like that? redx165
This is another reason why I can't stand V. Michael either wearing nothing but a suit or his beach clothes. Trevor either wearing his dirty clothes, dress, or underwear. Franklin is the worst with his sh*tty clothes. I can't stand it with Trevor and Franklin. When ever I switch to them they're in the WORST place. Trevor on a island or a mountain with either his dress or underwear while Franklin is either at a bar, strip club we can't enter, or at his boring house. ( I wish we could have his old place back. )
Zwenkwiel
it makes sense to have them change since they sort of lead their own lives when you're not controlling them. but some of the clothing choices are a bit unfortunate to say the least sucks to switch to Micheal to do a mission only to discover you're going to have to infiltrate some criminal compound on your flip flops XD Edited April 16, 2014 by Zwenkwiel Aerosmithfan999
