R* is incompetent - Freezing is out-of-hand

Huh, I play quite heavily, and I have yet to freeze even once. (Xbox) Now Battlefield 4 on the other hand, freezes 3-4 times per play session, has since launch.

Xbox: I freeze at least once every hour. And i only play with 3-4 close friends max, in a invite only server. Been that way for months.

What ive lost to glitches/bugs: 1 character, 2 apartments, 6 cars(90% modifed), 2 Guns(fully modded), $100000 at least. Thats since the game has been released. Incompetent? Or just typical bugs?

Its frustrating and im smokin thru my weed way to quick because of it.

It's the servers freezing you, I've done a lot experiments with the crew and if you are in the same area doing the same thing, you will all freeze at the same time. I'm freezing on average about once each 30 minutes in a full lobby. Invite with 2 or 3 friends you might get 4 or 5 hours without a freeze, still freezes but much less often when there's not much for the server to deal with.

My game will freeze when im alone in a server. But less ppl in ya server the better I find.

It is not just the online, every once in a while I play in story mode for a while and I freeze there too

All I want to know is how many of you guys complaining about multiple freezes in a single day or even a single hour have bothered attempting ANY of the troubleshooting methods they have suggested. Even the simplest one of clearing your cashe?

 

When 1.12 released I saved my save files onto a flash drive. Formatted my hard drives, reinstalled everything as fresh 1.12 and have not had a single freeze since.

So many whiners and complainers in this thread. If you dont like freezing, go play COD! Freezing is what gives GTAO its character and you know what? Im thankful for it freezing, gives me time to think about strategy and whatnot, this is another reason why V is the best in the series.

I'm on a newer 320GB PS3 and it's freezing up on me quite often. I was just in a nearly empty lobby (3 people including myself) and as soon as I jumped from the top of the FIB building it froze up It's so unpredictable when it will happen.. one thing I have not seen it do is freeze up during a DM/race/etc or when playing rooftop rumble hundreds of times.

Froze twice on me during an invite only session, but when playing Saturday, didn't freeze at all even with about 2/3 hours of playtime online, even though my friend's did once.

Seriously, screw Rockstar for not spending any of their $1bn made off the game on servers. GTA:O is running off a '90s Compaq machine causing it to freeze every 10 mins.

It's definitely going to be fixed in 1.13 have some damn patience. It's not easy to fix a bug and NOT create a few others.

Cache clears automatically, that's just a bs excuse to make you think they have a clue what's going on. No other games have any problems, it's them.

I've tried all the troubleshooting methods, my PS3 is fairly new and has no issues playing any other game. I only play solo or with crew members, so its nothing to do with hackers/glitchers/modders. I freeze at least once every single time I play online.

 

Rockstar have created this problem with something they did in 1.11. I'm all for supporting Rockstar, they get enough flak over stuff that doesn't matter. But peoples games freezing and possibly damaging their console is a serious issue.

Unplug your TiVo box at the wall for 30 seconds. This should fix your "internet is down for maintenance" problem. Thank you.

This is me all over and i have absolutely no doubt it damaged my console(texture pop ups in all games), i tried everything right down to restoring it to factory settings with no joy.

 

I mentioned it to a friend and he said just to take his as it was a unwanted present, i take it home and restore it re install everything from scratch and play for two hours then get two crashes in a row

 

Would just a little news on the matter be so much to ask?

Whatever they "fixed" in 1.11 that led to this freezing nonsense, I hope they unfix it soon.

 

Console freezes once a day now.

I have the newer (not slim) 600gb PS3 wired in directly to the modem, haven't had any issues with freezing. Sometimes the load screen takes a few seconds, but for the most part it runs fairly smooth. Have any of you checked your connection speeds, and are you wireless or hard-wired to your modem?

I'm not saying Rockstar is right in this, I freeze. It's annoying. However, if only some players freeze and others don't they won't be able to fix it.

I bought my xbox 360 back in October 2012 and I only froze once in GTA Online.

details: Installed Disc 1 in console and disc 2 in high speed USB.
