R* is incompetent - Freezing is out-of-hand

Seriously, screw Rockstar for not spending any of their $1bn made off the game on servers. GTA:O is running off a '90s Compaq machine causing it to freeze every 10 mins.

It's hard to figure out what the problem is when some are affected and some aren't.

I don't know if the servers are the problem, the constant freezing reports started nearly on 1.09, and i don't think that the servers have changed since the beginning, so i think is the problem is in the updates.

Also to the guy above: I've played with modders and had some modded cars myself. Still didn't freeze.

My console freezes multiple times during every GTA sessions currently. Do I consider R* incompetent? No. I'm not even that angry about it. But hey, game development and online multiplayer support for millions of players worldwide across two platforms is really easy, after all. You should do it yourself and really show Rockstar what a real developer can do.

I think it pretty foocking obvious that the freezes are because of the game, and not the xbox, etc....

Oddly the enough, the last patch fixed it for me tough....

My PS3 froze once in the 3 weeks before the last update. Now it's freezing AT LEAST twice every session i have.

I play quite a bit, and I freeze two or three times a day, I don't have freezing problems with any other games I play, except for one, I won't mention thE nAme of the developer of that game, but my console is less than one year old, and my GTA 5 is digital, so no disk to get scratched.

I've been freezing a lot too, even in Invite Only (so the argument of having modders in my game is invalid, also, I'm 110% legit).
If I play for 4 hours a day, I'll freeze about twice. If I switch lobbies often, the freeze will double.
I basically see the new ads on the Xbox Dashboard when they come out.

I just don't believe it is the hardware... yesterday i've played with a buddy, and suddenly i see that the whole lobby left the game, and seconds later i froze. Same thing for my buddy. It MUST be the servers, R* just doesn't know the solution & claims it would be our fault, our hardware.

And what exactly makes you think it's a server side issue? Just because something isn't a hardware issue doesn't automatically mean it's something to do with the servers. Problems like this aren't always black and white, and the game freezing like it does really doesn't strike me as something to do with the servers.

 

Unless you're an expert (which I'm not), in which case you should contact them with a resume and ask for a job. I hear it's a fun place to work and pays pretty well. I'm sure they'd love to have people who could fix all the problems in a day or two.

I've been experiencing freezes for the first time ever after 1.12 was released.

Not saying it's a definite fix but if you delete the update on the Poose3, and reinstall it it fixed it for me, at least so far, last time I froze must have been just before the end of March. I don't think it's a server problem because they were more or less fine before o_O

None of these freeze incidents started occurring until after the 1.11 patch and they fixed the server problems in the Philippines which people there couldn't get onto GTAO for 7 days straight so they fixed that problem and created another.

 

I think this issue can be traced back to that problem

Pretty much the same for me on Xbox, but a lot of my friends have a freezing issue. Not sure what it could be.

Since 1.12, I've been having freezing issues; there doesn't seem to be a way to trigger it, it sort of just randomly happens. What's weird, is that the audio will continue to play: if I'm in or near a car, I can still hear the radio playing after the video freezes. I'm hesitant to play the game since the latest patch because of this very frustrating issue.

i got a new ps3 and havent froze once since i started replaying. it wants to freeze. all my friends in the session will get frozen and i'll get every single player has left the session. i'll have a crew of players trying to kill me and it starts out full of hate but one by one that crew will freeze, rejoin friend and we will have bonded over how sh*tty they game play has become. then i tell them rockstar says its all their fault the game is broken and they get pissed off. usually this is the reponse, "if its my system, why does it only f*ck up this bad only with this one game? shouldnt all the games i play be affected?"

 

for the record, i dont use glitches, hacks, modds or even stand in wall breaches. if its because of hackers/modders than rockstar needs to get off their ass and ban those players already. they are easy to find. they have k/d ratios into the hundreds and a snapmatic full of aliens and bigfoot playing online.

it's not the servers that are the issue...

 

freezing issues are issues which are caused by full Ram memory. This happens when to much high resolution textures are loaded at the same time. This is also why freezes occur when 16 players are all close together. GTA then loads all of the area at once; which cause maxed out RAM memory; causing freezes.

 

It has mostly nothing to do with servers.

 

Newer consoles (the slim ones) have the issue less or even not at all.

bad internet connection is also one of the issues; so stay away from players with an unstable connection.
