GTA San Andreas, Vice city and others are known as classics which made rockstar huge but lets face it GTA V has beaten all of those games in sales and success. Although some don't like the game for understandable reasons like the freezing online ect... It's undeniable that gta has dominated the market recently anyway point is, will it be considered a classic in the years to come as some say they don't get that gta feeling with this game. What do you guys think?

The Last of Us will be considered as a classic, Telltale's The Walking Dead (Season 1) will be considered a classic.. but to be honest, i'm not sure GTA V will be hailed as a classic. As much as I love V, I can't see people in the future saying "Man, GTA V was f*cking awesome!" Sure, it dominated the market by mere popularity ..but so did Call of Duty with CoD4, and MW2. That's just IMO.

COD4 is considered a classic nowadays. Possibly the last great Call of Duty.

Sure it will be considered a classic...

Warts or not- a lot of games, even pretty crappy games have been considered classics...

GTA 5, is both annoying and groundbreaking (in some ways, though I personally feel its more due to map size and visuals)... It has many, many fans... just look at how many fanboys jump on someone who makes a legitimate complaint...

Too many people like it just the way it is and are happy with what others consider flaws, bugs, limitations and/or shortsighted omissions...

So yeah, I believe it will be a classic, whether it one day deserves that label or not.

Especially when GTA 6 comes out and has just as many shortsighted omissions, limitations, flaws and bugs as GTA5... then many will look fondly back to GTA 5 and say "those were the days".

Megh.

Freezing Online? What? I'm sure that the game will be considered as a classic, but because of Single Player/Story Mode (like all other GTAs) by true GTA fans, not f*cking Online in my opinion.

Let's see how V will be when the next GTA comes out, I hope they do a better job with their decisions.

I agree with that, quite sad how people do this.

I find that I loved IV from day 1, after reading all the citations gamers were serving it in their lists, I started seeing what they were talking about, it opened my eyes to some (not all) of their mentioned flaws, shortcomings and over-ratings

.

Most critiques angrily mentioned by gamers about V, I disagree with. In fact, after many hours spent in Liberty City, I actually think it's by far the worst one of the series :/ (even though I thoroughly enjoyed it)

So yes, to me V is a classic, now and forever and VI will not change my mind.

I honestly think V is the San Andreas of this console generation. It's spawned Franklin fanboys (who are similar to CJ fanboys) who will beg and plead to Rockstar that their next GTA game be a following of Franklin's story, or have Franklin in it, or whatever those San Andreas fanboys wanted from V.

I don't agree. It's way too polarizing for it be the SA. It's the IV of the west coast where right now it is hated by a lot of people and even though I don't have a crystal ball it would not shock me if people did a 180 when VI comes out.

I know there's a good deal of people who still like V, though. Or at least the gang aspect of it, like all those goobers who post in the "gang life" thread or whatever the proper word for it is. The bulk of them are San Andreas fanboys who wish to relive their SA Gangbanging days in HD.

The big irony is that I think IV is sort of becoming the new SA where it's fans are angry that V isn't a carbon copy of it.

@universetwisters

Lol,But hopefully through the Lifespan of the HD Era of GTA,i hope R* make another full-fledge Gang-Themed GTA game so the SA fanboys can stop whining (although TLAD was the 2nd Gang Game in the Series after SA but it was an Expansion so they didnt quite get satisfied and are craving for more Gangwars/Turfwars/Gangbanging..wars wars wars) lol.

We got accustomed to so much, although the game was 5 years after IV.

All the little cool stuff, like when we had the mechanic. The way the whole game blends is cool.

I think it will be a classic when it comes out for PC.

I honest to god they don't. Los Angeles is basically your gangbanging capital of the United States. Sure, you've got gangsters in Chicago and New York, but they don't really fit the whole "boyz in the hood" vibe that those wanabee gangbangers are looking to recover from San Andreas. You could say San Diego and San Fransisco/Oakland have gangbangers, but I hope they don't put any of those places in for the next GTA. If anything, there's always the gangbangers in Miami. Sure, you're listening to southern rap instead of west coast rap, and you get "donks" instead of lowriders.

But in the end of the day I can't really bring myself to stuff my hand up my ass and pull out enough sh*ts to care about gangbanging in the next GTA game. They'll very most likely half-ass it unless some miracle happens.
