xNCx
I doubt there will be SR 5. The story is already all f*cked up after the events of SR 4. I'm thinking more about a new game, with a fresh story, but similar gameplay. I'm assuming a 10th anniversary remake of Saints Row 1 for PS4, Xbox One & PC. That would be great I think. I started with SR 3 thanks to a sh*tty, unplayable port of SR 2 on PC and no port of SR 1. It is difficult to play a sequel of a game if you don't know what happened before. When playing SR 4 I already knew some characters from the previous game, but then again so many come from the first two games and again I don't know who they are . I kinda enjoyed SR 3. The story was more or less stupid, but it was a great game to play after a hard day, cause some mayhem and go sleep. SR 4 was painful, this whole alien story... I liked more what they shown in the "Enter the Dominatrix" DLC. The concept was at least a hundred times better. chronic lumbago
Well I hope it will be over the top gangsta themed like the first two games. The setting and the whole saints thing, building your gang up and the stereotypes were quite enjoyable and I want to see this again in the future. Even though similar to mafia and gta, it had something unique in it. Edited May 7, 2016 by fashion ClaudeSpeed1911
luisniko
Saints row selling point to me is the more flexible, fast paced action and of course the customisation and custom character. That's something gta and mafia don't have. SlayerSnoopy

Ivan1997GTA
I'm pretty sure all of you heard about a new game from Volition being leaked, called "Agents of Mayhem" or something like that. Though, I take it as a rumor, it may not be true. I'm not sure what the game's gonna be like, either a reboot of Saints Row or a new IP. Regardless, I'm looking forward to information on it. If it turns out to be an open-world sandbox game like the previous Saints Row games, I'm hoping there's a radio station similar to the Mix 107.77 which plays 80's pop, so that I could cause mayhem and drive like crazy while this song plays. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErnMC7xokQ8 Mister Pink and icecoldkilla1467

That's something gta and mafia don't have. To me Saints Row offered a more street life version of GTA The first few minutes of Saints Row 1 really went to the parts where GTA didn't sure you can say that SA did but after you leave the Grove CJ goes on a wild ride and becomes Odysseus Then in 2 you become the boss Edited May 10, 2016 by Zello Goldn-Bayse, Maibatsu545, ClaudeSpeed1911 and 4 others

thatstupidbug
I like what they've been doing with the series, gets away from that GTA clone to being its own thing As a huge fan of sr2, i see things differently Saints row went away from the "gta" formula, but (i'm talking about 4) didn't know WHAT to do with the newly found freedom. It's like one of those bad "scary movie" knockoff, where ideas, characters and jokes are trown together without rhyme or reason just because "it's a parody" or "it's funny". stealth parody? check US president? check Aliens? check time travel? check retrogame? check Superpowers? check Japanese crazy game show? check and check... It's a game with no identity AND, worst of all, the customization (one of the strongest selling points) is even "worse" than SR2 in some aspects. ryuclan, UltraGizmo64, slimeball supreme and 5 others
Claude4Catalina
Recalling how SR4 ended, Boss being the Boss of the entire universe or whatever; use their lazy writing skills to make the Boss yearn for his roots as a gang banger and create a simulation for himself! Make it part of the story; Boss wants a simulation where he can dick around and do everything he's done previously, just for sh*ts and giggles. So he crafts a city sim for him and the Saints to take over; three rival gangs occupy roughly a third of the city each, defending it only with their guns, no shock hammers or brutes, and Boss wants it, so he takes strongholds, brings down the three fictional gangs in the fictional city and comes face to face with Dex finally. The series is too far gone to retcon it back to being a street gang shoot 'em up, but it'd feel great to at least act these scenarios out; no superpowers, no aliens, just Boss, his NR4 and a Bootlegger. It'd also suit the current writing style of the development team; "ah f*ck it, throw it in. Not like anyone pays attention to coherent stories these days"

They'll just have to change things so new favorites are around at the start. (Hopefully not Kinzie, I hate her. Used to dislike Pierce but he became likeable in 3/4, I'll never like her Gat out of Hell made me despise her character even more) I just want Boss, Gat, Shaundi, and Pierce. And adapt the choice system so there's a way to save Lin this time. I'd love Matt, Viola, Angel, Oleg, Asha, and CID back as well but I mostly want the big four in the first reboot game. I was always pissed off Angel got removed from IV, what the hell happened to the "This is for you Angel" line. I love him but it'd have been cool if he was abducted and sacrificed himself to help the Boss escape. Kinzie was the only Third addition to the Saints in the game and she was the WORST. Claude4Catalina
I saw someone suggest that 3 and 4 could be explained as coma dreams from between 1 and 2, which again would suit the lazy writing style of the developers. Its a shame that its gotten to this point, but after Gat's death being retconned into an abduction by Zin; I'm not sure the developers are concerned about having a decent coherent story. B Dawg
If they ever go back to the roots, I hope they overhaul the basic gameplay mechanics such as shooting and driving so they're not so simple and boring. Saints Row might have had a ton of customization and content (mobile radio, buddies to drive for you, those features were so f*cking awesome, etc...), but the basic gameplay was bland. Edit: Oh, and it had health regen sh*t, I loved SR1 as a kid, but if I probably tried playing it now, I'd probably get bored pretty quick. J-B
At this point, it'd probably be better to just launch a new IP. No pre-conceptualized expectations from fans or critics. But, in the age of remakes, reboots, and rereleases, it doesn't seem likely. Claude4Catalina and Ivan1997GTA

ryuclan
If they can make it like SR1 or SR2 I can get on board with that. What people seem to forget is that the original SR didn't get by as a GTA clone because it was a little better. The multiplayer was what put it over the top, and you also have to remember that the GTA that game it was going against was GTAIV which had been out for years before SR showed up and didn't have nearly the online variety of SR. SR was just fun. Protect the Pimp, Blinged out Ride, Heist, Gangsta Brawl, Big Ass Chains, it was different and all of this has been stripped from the game. With that being said Saints Row 2 still had a pretty good story with really fun side missions. The turd threw whatever was left out of the window and decided that what needed to be done was to make it as crazy as possible and that would equal fun. It went from not taking itself too seriously to forcefully being as stupid as possible. The game turned into Adam Sandler. By the fourth game I had completely given up on SR. Th3MaN1
Oh f*cking hell no man. I have to admit, I never played the first 2 games, but I saw enough to see why people liked them. I played the 3rd and 4th, and got pleasantly surprised. The 3rd kept the same shtick while still being a fun game. I can see why it was mostly hated by some people, but IMO it wasn't bad. The 4th was even more fun, but we know what happened. Aliens, superpowers, the end of Earth, superficial sh*t like that which kept me interested, but that was the precise moment Saints Row as it was known died. But still, it was a good game, along with the 3rd as far as I'm concerned. Gat Out Of Hell is where sh*t hit the fan for me - big time. That was the biggest absolute sh*tfest I ever saw. It was like I was going through a game written by some random fan-fiction writer who had all the imagination in the world but no logical thinking. I could somewhat swallow the alien sh*t, but demons, satan and all that crazy motherf*cking business was just a huge no-no for me. Never played it. And quite frankly, I was happy it ended there. No reason to beat the crap out of a dead dog. But now they just HAD to do this bullsh*t. I can't even put it in words, but whoever had the idea can go f*ck itself. Yes, we already have GTA, Mafia, and other sh*t but why in the holy f*cking f*ck can't we have another Saints Row similar to the first 3 ones? Keep the fun, but have it grounded. Just two UZI's, some dude who doesn't give a sh*t, Johnny Gat and f*ck sh*t up big time. This is bullsh*t. chronic lumbago
That's what happens when the developers only look at the sales. This is total complete f*cking f*cked piece of first class bullsh*t sadly served under a saints row sh*tty tablet. The last seconds were so damn unneccecary. They could've simply kept it as a completely new IP which would've been fun maybe even for me but this is the final nail in the saints row coffin. They f*cked up saints row. f*cked. It. Up. f*ck. I hope the world suffers an armageddon before this releases. Edited June 6, 2016 by fashion
