thatstupidbug
I stopped playing the series with the 3rd game... what I liked about saints row 2 was that while the story wasn't as balanced as I liked (but it was still a lot of fun) the outside world was open to interpretation. It wasn't too zany or too serious, and it can adapt to your style. In the same stillwater you could play equally as a "serious" mafia mob and as a crazy purple-skinned hulk. The freedom of saints row 3 is reduced in some way, because I'll have an hard time playing with my perfect recreated Michael Corleone battling steroided thugs, teleporting freaks and zombies in free-roaming, while the world arounf me is dressed in some sort of furry fetish. I hope SR5 (if it wiill ever be made) will go back to a "normal looking" outside world
Hmmm nice bike
Talk about a throwback! It seems like they put much more heart in this game compared to SR3 and SR4. Why can't they at least make a good city environment? SR1 (8 year old game) still had more shops and diversity than the friggin 2 games that came out in the last 3 years. I mean come the f**k on!!! Wow, they even mentioned how various parts of the city will look and feel different from the others, which is something they messed up with SR3 and 4, where you look like you're in the same part of the city no matter where you are. What happened to them? A lot of layoffs happened to companies owned by THQ between 2 and 3, so I wonder if many of the people who worked there in 2006 or who were in this video are even at Volition anymore (besides Steve Jaros). I was watching one of my friends play the game and loved it. I saved for 4 months to buy the 360 just to get that game! Funny thing is one of my other friends was playing SR2 and it made him finally buy a next-gen system just for that game.

You can't get better than being paid to sit on your arse all day not making Half Life 3. Target13
Wonder what is the real reason why he left? Maybe because he saw that Saints Row was becoming sh*t and he didn't want to be a part of it anymore... NOTE: I still love the franchise and don't think its bad but i gotta admit. Saints Row isn't what it was before. theNGclan

Saints Row isn't what it was before. Thats my biggest problem. I will let SR3 slightly, but SR4 should've been a new series. If they did that then would not have any limitations dealing with the SR storyline. People may say it was a "love letter to the fans", but I felt it was a big "F*k You" to the SR and SR2 fans. Hmmm nice bike
I just noticed this under "Features" on the official Deep Silver website and on the Steam listing. I'll put it in a spoiler tag, in case anyone cares about spoilers for this. Kill Dex – We promise you can do it this time. Pinky swear. Nice, it's only been almost 6 years since that mission where they made it seem like SR3 would be about going after Dex. What ever happened to spoiler alerts anyway? I don't think Volition cares anymore, considering they also gave away the fact that Gat died in SR3 twice before the game was even out (previews of the mission on the plane, and a "Zombie Gat" bobblehead giveaway thing they did). I would have never even guessed Dex would be in this, I figured they just forgot about him by now. Edited September 19, 2014 by Tony.

The Mysterious One
The thing about the Dex issue is that it was never resolved and it left a cliffhanger at the end of the "Corporate Warfare" DLC in SR2. While it was nice to see him play a role and physically appear, it really left us wondering if we were supposed to go after him in the third game. Hell, it could have made sense if he had something to do with STAG going after The Saints and he would have been the main guy involved, unless "Money Shot" was supposed to canon and that game was never released. Tycek
I wonder if they will bring the JAQ to make voice acting for Dex. I guess it's not likely and Dex will never be the same as he was in the first game: "It's not the Los Carnales, It's just the Carnales. What is wrong with you?" WildBrick142
Some info for whoever's interested: New map Clusters are back (Don't know the full amount) Money/Cache is called "Wages". New Barnstorming free-roam task. Fly in difficult places to pass. Weapon wheel now shows the weapon upgrades Johnny Gat has Super Sprint. Instead of the blue effect the boss has, Gat leaves fire trails. He can also sprint on walls. Loading screen is somewhat reused from IV. It has the same style. At angle, image in middle and lines moving down the side (Terrible explanation, I know) Warden-type creatures are back at high notoriety. They are called "Archduke" and use a sword & shield. Notoriety HUD reused from IV.Satan version of police arrives in Monster Trucks. Health pickups reused from IV. New grenade/power slotsThe "powers" in "HUB Menu" is called "Arcane"Imp (Summons) Worship (Aura) New weapons:Armchair-a-geddon (7 Deadly weapons - Sloth) Gods Hammer (Gods Hammer) Energy Caster (Hand Crossbow) Lil' Croaker (Lil' Croaker) Exodus 10 (Organic SMG) Damned Impaler (Pump-Action Shotgun) ActivitiesHellblazing (Fly through checkpoints) Marshalling Ground (Similar to Hotspots in IV) Torment Fraud (Insurance Fraud) Or, you could watch the video if you can't be bothered to read that heap of information that may be inaccurate. Osho
According to what I've read online - SRV won't happen and even the series is unlikely to continue. If this is true, then, well I really enjoyed SR2; still gives me plenty of fun, and never turned boring. I was expecting a similar experience to return again, once SR4 and expansions are done, with a complete change. Lelouch The Zero
I'm actually tempting to buy Saints Row IV and finish it, but at the same time I want to rebuy Saints Row 2 and finish it as well, I'd also like to play the upcoming Gat out of Hell, which I will surely be buying when it comes out. My question is, which should I buy, Saints Row 2 or Saints Row IV? I can only pick one, but come to think about it 2 is way cheaper.

It might not have superpowers or the presidential/alien invasion story, but the story it does have is still pretty good and is still a bit over the top and has some funny moments (and the Ultor part of the story is likely going to tie in with Gat out of Hell, kinda like how it tied in with Red Faction back then), plus the city is a lot bigger than Steelport and has a lot more places to explore (I only recently discovered this hidden room on the power plant island, plus all the other hidden islands in the sea), and there are plenty of activities in the game. I'd go for 2.

Mareno
I hope that they're making a Saints Row 5. With SR4 originally meant to be an expansion to SR3, I'm sure that they'll have no shortage of crazy for SR5 (which I know they will make). How will they do it? I'm not sure. As much as I love the whacky Saints Row I don't think they'll take the crazy route for the next game. There's is a limit to how bonkers they can make the game without making it boring or repetitive in concept. Gat out of hell shows that a tiny bit.
