Drive away, and if he pursues, change session.

Don't give them the satisfaction, and they'll soon get bored of twanking.

Yeah they need more hobbies and things I think, if not Bowling, why not Basketball and even the Triathlons from story mode would be fun I think D: c'est la vie

But I generally run like a little b!#$h because, I'm like, a pacifist... until annoyed >_>

Probably won't happen. Because, as with the Tank drivers being pushed into bad sport lobbies by people destroying their cars against them, they'll whine to R* to get anything half-effective at countering a tank removed.

Baseball bat. Works great against fighter-jets and helicopters as well, assuming you didn't get it too dinged up thwarting off would-be tank assailants.

Get the H*ll out of dodge!

Don't ram into it or shoot it, that couldn't possibly make the tank aggressive.

If it's a twanker, tactical retreat either to procure your own tank. Or just save your $$$ by not getting involved.

Jack his tank, kill him. Then when he respawns in passive mode (as they always do), run him over with his own tank until he leaves the session.

Your goal should be ultimate humiliation, not just taking out his tank.

If I do want to destroy the tank, I like to lure them into alleyways and climb up to a roof. While he's struggling to drive his tank through the alleyway I keep shooting RPGs at him. When I've destroyed it I climb on top of it and fire my gold AK or my standard MG into the air as celebration.

I don't ever engage with a tank. I don't even typically use my own personal vehicles when in a public freeroam. I prefer to keep my combat on foot and my travel in whatever vehicle is nearby. I use my personal collection in crew only sessions and If I want a vehicle deathmatch I will go get paid for it using a job. I never use my tank except for police stars in private.

With all that said, I find the tanks in a free roam to be quite OP for my chosen existence strategy and since I don't allow others to dictate how I play the game I avoid them at first sight as I said earlier in the thread, down D-pad, left on the right stick, release, press A. It isn't cowardly, it is an intelligent strategic descision. If I choose to engage the tank it means that he wins because he took control of my experience. Kindof like a terrorist altering a nations plans by acts designed to cause fear, only in real life there is no other session you can blink to.

For those that do choose to play ball with the tank though I have found having a passenger in a buzzard to be very effective. Driver just hovers directly above the tank completely out of the danger zone (the higher you are the larger that clear zone becomes). The passenger is able to use the gunner camera to shoot a sh*t storm of explosives straight down. There is nothing the tank can do about it.

But anyway, like I said I keep my vehicle battles either in GTA races or vehicle DM. To me the only result of fighting a tank in free roam is a lot of money spent and either he or you leaves session...So I settle that score and just leave. No skin off my back.

I've heard you need less stickies (~4) if you put them on a vehicle and kamikaze the tank. You could probably avoid dying by jumping out first as well.

There was a thread here not too long ago where somebody went relatively in depth about anti-tank tactics.

There is definitely an art to tank busting. Problem is the funnest one was sniping.

enable passive, go off radar, kill yourself, respawn, request personal vehicle, order tank, pursue the asshat in the other tank

if you're successful in getting them out of their tank, proceed to spawnkilling the living sh*t out of them

J) get a jet and make him eat cannons.

Jets aren't any good....I had jet try to kill me in a tank and they had a hard time and either I blew them up or they crashed lol

grand theft spaghetti

i found this to be a fun trick.

have the obsessed twanker follow you.

go under the map at that parking garage.

wait for the twanker to focus on blasting you through the wall.

call in a mugger to steal his tank.

wait a few seconds for the twanker to leave the session.

i really do hate the under the map glitches but if the guy is just getting tank after tank while talking smack...

Maybe Rockstar's plan all along has been to let the frustration about twankers grow to the level that they can offer a $10M special Buzzard with tank lock-on missiles. Watch the cash card sales then. :p

This many months into GTA0, and the twankers are still f*cking up sessions, and Rockstar only encouraging them, makes it clear that Rockstar thinks that Tanks are Good for Business.

Phone Lemar to use the mugger on the player in the tank. If it works out right the player will be dragged out of the tank
