What is the recommended course of action when facing TANK?

Original Sin

Prior to patch 1.11 - Lure them to the Airport, snipe them out of their tank, steal it, and spawn kill them with it until they leave the session.

Post patch 1.11 - Mugger. If that fails, grab my own tank and blow them to pieces. Then when they respawn, drive up to them and lay down on the horn. If they're already passive, I'll get out of the tank right in front of them. It tends to let them know that, hey, you just lost. Take this crutch, you f*ck.

I strongly favor option A i'd say. Make a retreat if the means is available to me without being turned into a fine red paste. If not, well I just try to get to a location where I can't be fired on and wait it out until a retreat opportunity is available. Though if i had the ordinance, I'd give them a HE Shell Enema.

I've noticed people generally fight back against tanks, on foot, a lot less than a few months ago.

Assuming this is because people don't have billions of cash anymore.

OT: Go get your f*cking tank

select a: since passive is a joke they can run you down, now days when i see a tank, i go the other way and try to get away.

turning a corner in a turismo seems to work for me.

not that itll matter anymore once i buy my tank and float near people.

like.. no bullsh*t. ill just drive up to folks and spin my barrel or do donuts if at all possible in it.

of course, if they attack. i attack back of course. but i wont start any trouble.

Since there is no sniping tanks anymore :( I usually try and get them to follow me, find a narrow road or lane and line it with 5 sticky bombs...I was in a car with someone else and we put down 10 sticky bombs which took the tank out completely. :)

I do most of these techniques but the funniest has to be the mugger. It works i'd say 1 in 4 times. If you listen to people who use mics whilst they are in their tanks tryin to be big boys, it really is insanely funny to hear them accuse you of cheating by using the mugger as their frail little character gets dragged out and left on the floor.

Using their own tank against them is just gravy. :)

I so miss tank sniping. It was the best thing ever once you mastered it, and it made the playing field even. Nobody had an advantage, tanks and other players all got their kills still and it actually required a bit of skill to use tank without attracting a sniper and then if you did, avoiding their line of sight.

It was fun from both directions, kind of like a threesome.

I usually go into passive mode, get myself into a corner where the tank will try and trap me and run me over, then hold Y and yank the prick out of his tank and then kill him over and over.

I usually just leave them to their spawnkilling

sometimes when I'm feeling adventurous I try to do high speed drive by sticky bombs but it's kind of hard not to get blown up unless you go off the radar

Yanking them out of the tank and killing them with their own merchandise usually works for me now that I can't snipe them anymore.

One could also get real slick with a cargo bob and pluck them off the ground without being blown up, to then go drop the tank in the middle of the ocean. (With them still in it if they don't bail out)

I usually go with C.

If there's more than one I usually go off the radar too to get the jump on them.

Soran Is On

Grenade launcher or RPG from higher vantage than the tank.

5 stickies on a car and go on an off radar jihad. (Takes two or three runs though)

Grab a jet

Grab your own tank

Grab a buzzard and find a copilot.

Call a mugger and hope he steals the tank.

Go passive an try and steal it yourself.

4. Wait until white dot stops to read said message

"A" because usually most people I've seen in a tank can't aim for sh*t. Here I am in my tailgater zig zagging from a tank on a road and he kept missing. Went straight to a new sessions because he was camping at the Los Santos Customs and killed everyone who got there.

z) Turn console off. Trade in GTA. Buy Pokemon <whatever colour/hue/precious stone they are up to now>. Become Pokemon master.

This, until you grow some pokeballs to come back and then B&C.

A and B, and D, using explosives if possible. Also, how are we the cowards for running away from the tank?

Only 2 things to do once you hear the tank griefer, get your own tank or switch sessions. 90% of the time I chose the latter.

Also an option when you are with enough friends... just all push the kick button en see the twanker leaving, while his useless tank is sitting in the middle of the street

:^: As you say, the mugger is a possible, but inefficient countermeasure to the tank wanker. It can work if the wanker is a noob or gets distracted.

However, only if the mugger were available without a timeout, and if the mugger only cost $200, would it start to be an effective countermeasure. As it stands now, the tank wanker can wreak havoc on session for 15 minutes before the mugger has an even chance of being successful. By that time, the cops have typically hit the tank with enough explosions to destroy it and the twanker is back again in 40 seconds with a new tank.

You know, actually, tanks do add excitement to sessions. I use the audio cue of explosions down in the street, to let me know that my GTA0 session has connected. If I don't hear the tank explosions when I connect, I have to double-check that my TV audio isn't muted. But there is no balanced countermeasure against a tank wanker. This is the problem. Everyone in the session has to adjust what they are doing to accommodate the little tank wanker.

The fact that every tank thread on the GTAF forum is repeatedly replied to by badasses who claim to do the most extraordinary things to try to frustrate the twanker does not change the fact of disruption the tanks cause in most sessions. Until Rockstar fixes this by restricting tanks to Invite-Only sessions or providing a truly effective countermeasure, GTA0 will be a sick, incompetent joke that reeks of poor game design.

Send them a message about how big of a bi#$# they are, stick and move until the tank is destroyed and then send them another message when they quit reaffirming how big of a bi%#) they are.
