The actual engines in these cars!?

Hi guys,

bit of a petrol head, had a thought - what engines do these cars actually have?

I've thought about using the sound and the look but there's so many clashes with engine sounds, what the car should be and whats actually in the engine bay.

For instance the Zion Cabrio - based off the BMW 6 series.

Is that a honda B series 4pot in there?!

htup_0601_04_o%2B1992_honda_civic_cx_hat

Surely it should have some form of V8 powerplant or at least a V6 Twin turbo?!

next was the is200/is300/evo mismatch, aka the sultan

0_0.jpg

Okay a simple straight six, fits with the IS200/300. can't see a turbo in there must be tucked away

impp-1204-08-o%2Bimport-alliance%2Bengin

kind of works as a 2jz, with some elements of an RB in there was my guess?

Then there's the Blista

0_0.jpg

J series?

htup_1008_06_z%2Bj_series_engine_swaps%2

The last one is the jester, the "V6 hybrid" as described on legendary motorsport, and the car that sounds eerily like the v8 Corvette Corquette.

call me insane but i swear I count 8

You prob shouldn't be using the sounds to judge since R* seems to re-use the engine audio sometimes such as the Carbonizzari and the Turismo R.

Hi g

Corquette.

Why do people put "r"s in Coquette and Elegy? I constantly see people saying, "I like the Corquette and Elergy." Why? Coquette and Elegy are uncommon words, I know, but I don't see where people got the "r" from.

Ya man...I thought the engines were a little wonky myself...I try not to think about it...take a look inside the coquette

I saw someone called the Entity "Entity XS" and the Sentinel "Sentinel XF", man, i didn't know if laugh or cry.

Also, Carbonizzare...

I know it's a lol word, a friend of mine call it "Carbonizer"

I don't get it either. The same with Simeon. Everyone always says Simon or Simeone. Why?

R* basically re-uses engine models on various vehicles.

Also, on some vehicles, the engine models change with certain customizations (i.e the Elegy)

Sir Michael

I owned a 9F Cabrio and realized there isn't even an engine in that car. Unless it's under the roof compartment, I have no idea where it's supposed to be. ;o

V10?

WTF is a V10 doing in a stock M6?

The only IS/Altezza body to use the 2JZ-GE (N/A) engine, is the Japan only Altezza Gita (which is a wagon). All others use the Inline 6 engine 1G-FE, or the Inline 4 engine 3S-GE.

Waaaat.

Well, the Zion Coupe has a "XS" badge of the rear, meaning its based of the "M" line of BMW cars.

It makes sense performance wise, seeing as its one of the fastest coupes and can be more than competitive with the sports class.

Whoops, my bad. I got the front end mixed up with the Sentinel and related the car with the M3.

Yup, I'm an idiot :facedesk:

Yes, but only the E63/64 6 Series had it.

The current F12/F13 models are only powered by V8's.

GTA cars are not real life cars, therefore there are no real engines in them.

Trying to get all technical with GTA cars is an uber fail.

The Zion looks more E63/64 though.

It appears that Sentinel XS comes stock with an RB26DETT engine.

Sorry to be that douche that corrects stuff but that Sentinel isn't stock. Certain body modifications change the engine model. That Sentinel has the exposed intercooler, which requires turbos in the engine, right?

But the one in LSC customizations reads STD on it (lol). Pretty sure the one in the pic had that one.
