you can easily fix it without even searching THAT long, the problem is that you're probably too lazy (like so many other people) to find a way :)

my game literally froze 5 times in one hour of play time... to the point where i fear for the life of my PS3 controller bc the rage that comes from freezing for no f*cking reason.

it is absolutley unfathomable that R* cant resolve this issue...

My Game Froze too but after an hour of playing! I guess the freezing has improved though. Before i used to freeze like after 15 minutes of gameplay. Now after an Hour.

I've tried everything including full restore. New console didn't help either. GTAO and other games still freeze up. As with all other games this issue won't get fixed.

Battlefield Bad Company (2007) had freezing issues. And 7 years later the issue is still there in BF4.

I doubt it's a console issue. Over the years I have been going through 4 PS3's and all of them would freeze up.

I have never heard anything about it from any developers or Sony. Seems like nobody knows what the cause is.

Or they might know but can't fix it so they just shut up about it. Even the PS4 freeze up.

Meh. Im inclined to believe that most of the issues (on PS3) at least stem from corrupted files. Restoring file system and rebuilding database is not only a sure fire way to increase the console performance it's actually recommended you do both once a month.

 

However i do believe that patch 1.11 has file request issues that are causing freezing, freezing that i think will be fully addressed in the High Life Update. 1.12 probably addressed some of the issues raised in the lab tests but like with most patches from AAA titles the patches are passed from developer to publisher to Sony and Microsoft and are fast tracked through the final 2 stages of testing so they're never really given enough time.

I tried playing an hour of gran turismo 6, an hour of black ops 2 and an hour of GTA online. Guess which one of those 3 games was THE ONLY ONE that froze my PS3.... Twice?

 

My ps3 is about 4 years old and never froze on any game but this one. Kinda proves that the issue isn't the playstations but rather GTAO no?
