Official Game Freeze Topic

(Xbox) My 2nd character can freeze when trying to launch Chopper Tail from the start > Jobs > rockstar > missions

The mission doesn't load at all.

I can bring up the map, watch the traffic drive by, but my character is frozen, can't move or select the weapon wheel. This also happens if the character is in a car (the car is frozen)

 

Anyone else had this happen?

I just started getting the "View Joined Players' Info" freezing problem yesterday. So now I can't mute the f*cking pre-teens and mouth breathers.

 

I've just muted all voice chat until this is fixed.

I've had maybe 1 freeze since the hipster updtate then today twice in succession while going from the start menu to jobs to bookmarked races; every time I go to next page the loading swirl pops up and I freeze.

Why would this all of a sudden be happening. I know that one of the races I had bookmarked was deleted but that's happened before without freezes.

My game is freezing in Online now. I just read Dr. Rosenthal's suggestion on cleaning the blu-ray lens so might try that, however, here is my ticklist/process of elimination first (might help others diagnose).

 

- other games work fine, some up to 3/4 years old

- a couple of rented blu-rays did not

- replacements from shop did, as do my own

- GTAV disk cleaned, still freezes in online

- it's a new PS3, had for 2 months

- GTAO has been fine up to patch 1.16

 

I'm going to try reinstalling the patch, cleaning the blu-ray lens & maybe borrow another GTAV disk.

 

Wish me luck.

 

Update: it fixed itself, but my friends & I still get disconnected during jobs, free mode & playlists.

My PS3 been freezing regularly the last 2 weeks mostly happens when going fast in car/plane etc but has also happened a lot when cruising around blaine county & paleto bay, i am beginning to give up on this game!!

Not saying this will work for everyone but have you ever deleted and re-installed the latest game update patch file 1.16? After I did that I haven't noticed any problems or freezes.

My Xbox 360 hardly froze from patches 1.14-1.16. With patch 1.17, it's freezing more frequently again.

 

Edit: Just froze on me twice in rapid succession. The freezing frequency is at 1.13 level.
