Which Free Mode would you choose if there were two variants?

Okay, imagine that every time you 'head straight into GTA Online' there are two options to choose from. Which do you choose:

 

1. GTA Online Free Mode; as we know it now

 

2. GTA Online Customisable Free Mode; which for the host includes:

 

* All unowned safe houses, blue mission, etc staring points will be removed from the map and radar. Meaning you can actually see what you are looking for.

* Turn cops on/off

* Turn friendly fire on/off ('friends' in this instance meaning EVERY other player in the game who isn't AI)

* Turn AutoAim on/off (saves having to change it in the settings)

* Personal weapons (as it is at present) or weapon pickups scattered all across the map on/off

* Have dozens of attack choppers and fighter jets spawned across the map (so accessible for those who like dog fighting) on/off

* Change weather and have a set time of day (eg. you aren't subjected to rain if you don't like it) on/off.

* Anything else I have missed?

 

Which of the two do you feel would be more popular?

What a tough decision, hmmmmm....should I stay in the same old FM with cops who are always up your ass (not to mention the very annoying sirens) or option 2 where I can comfortably turn them off and have a relaxing session with friends/crew without having to worry a thing about them

 

 

I think I'll go with option 2(Only cause the ability to turn cops off)

Mainly because I'm a sad act who likes to set the same time and weather that's going on where I live (usually rain lol) to increase my immersion.

I think Option 2 should only be available by invite only session. Else you'll get all the kids (80% of gta population) going to their custom servers, which would mean that would become the norm and now we're stuck in lobbies full of jets

Yeah, option 1. GTAIV's multiplayer was a different kettle of fish altogether, compared to GTAO.

Option 2 sounding like GTAIV and that is the one thing I missed about that game(Not saying I didn't miss everything else because I loved GTAIV as a whole). I think people would be much happier playing on Option 2 than Option 1

I think GTA IV options only would work best:

Auto Aim - On/Off
Police - On/Off
Friendly Fire - On/Off
Weather settings for the most part (have rainy nights, clear day, for example)

Someone mentioned in another topic (one of the many No Cop lobbies threads that float around) that if there's no cops, you shouldn't be allowed to rank up. Rob a store but have no cops - too easy. So no cops and (I think it would be best) no way to MAKE money in freeroam. Going back to cop lobbies to get money, I would not mind.

One thing I want for GTA V is spawn at the aiport, friendly fire off, no cops, rockets only.
Best GTA 4 lobbies right there.

OP, I love the thinking behind option 2, I really do... But I dont see it working, IMO, as GTA Online is now.As the host of option 2 it would be F*cking fantastic!!! However, once someone is the host of a customized session, and has his options chosen... how would player A, B, and C log into his customized session. Their could be a 3rd option to join a random customized session I guess to allow people to join your session. But, I would love for this to be an option and functionally work out, It would be amazing.

The second option already exists if you make a death match. Set time of day, weather, turn cops off and spawn a few tanks and jets to f*ck about in. You can also do the weapon thing you want to do.

Yea, I would be on board with this. Definately fun to toss around in the noggin a little bit. The could have option in the online tab of the start menu, maybe in the same one as choosing your spawn location, you could set your "Lobby" preferances. That way everytime you log on and choose "Option C" it would find lobbies to your liking that someone has hosted. *MIND FREAKING BLOWN* lol. But, seeing how it is hard for me to get ONE other player, let alone a full 16 player lobby, to join any mission, race, deathmatch or any job I host, Im worried that R* would leave me in an awesomely customized lobby of my liking forever alone waiting for the *Cloud Servers* to find me a friend. A random friend who never comes.

Better yet, being able to go in creative mode in freemode and spawn all vehicles, items, weapons, change the map. Think Halo's Forge or Garry's Mod.

Funny... Alls i remember is people fighting over attack helicopters and then using them against players on the ground in game. And thats...pretty much it.

 

 

That was 99% of my free roam experience in GTA 4. And I played GTA 4 alot...

You probably didn't play GTA IV when the modders arrived with the "spontaneous combustion" mode where the modder could decide who would magically light up on fire. I'm not sure if being in the water prevented that but the modder could also teleport you back on land and put you on fire (or put the whole lobby in the ocean).

 

GTA IV has nice hackers now, I've played a few lobbies just to check it out but man were those days of late 2009 - early 2010 rough.
