San Fierro & Las Venturas... Anybody find it weird that there isn&

San Fierro and Las Venturas - (Do they even exist anymore?)

This has been bugging me for about 6 months since GTA V has been out...

Does San Fierro and Las Venturas even exist anymore? What I mean is why would they be on separate islands (if they are supposed to be in the same state of San Andreas as Los Santos is)?

Yes, I know that San Fierro and Las Venturas are NOT in GTA V but why have them seem to be on separate islands if they are supposed to be in the same state? In the original San Andreas they are on the same map together but in the HD universe they are not. I'm confused...

Another weird thing is that there is NO mention whatsoever at all in GTA V about San Fierro or Las Venturas. It's quite confusing considering they are supposed to be in the same state but yet there isn't even a reference of them in-game. There isn't even one billboard on the highways saying "Visit San Fierro" or "Visit Las Venturas" but there were billboards in GTA IV like that. Not even mentions of these two other cities on the in-game Internet on any websites or anything. They are mentioned in GTA IV a lot but why not in GTA V?

Again, I know these two cities are NOT in GTA V but it would've seemed a bit cool to hear about them or maybe have their own website on the in-game Internet. Shouldn't two cities that are supposed to be in the same State get a mention in Los Santos?

HOW'S ANNIE?

There are a few mentions of SF and LV on the radio and internet. There just aren't an over abundance of them like in IV and before.

And so what if it's weird that they're not there. Just because SF and LV first appeared alongside LS it's weird that they're not there now?

Quite simply they don't want to repeat. This is just a game and as such, you should not get confused over SF and LV since Rockstar made it clear right from the day of announcing GTA V (Correct me here) And it's not just about cities but several other things are not repeated in the HD version, most importantly, what happened to CJ? Even the jetpack won't be available since there's no LV in the game. In short, just Remember that these are two separate games with nothing in common except Los Santos. Not even the vibe and the hoods of the amazing GTA SA, it's a damn shame.

San Fierro and possibly even Los Venturas is in northern San Andreas which is on a different island. I heard a few mentions of both cities a few times and there's a few signs displaying flights to San Fierro at the airport.

GTA V takes place in Souther Sn Andreas (Based on Southern California) only. The water on the north and East of the map "isn't really there". San Fierro does exist and it is to the North of the V map and so does Las Venturas and it is to the Northeast. You are supposed to use your imagination and imagine that V's map isn't on an island but is actually connected to the rest of SA. That is the way I have always pictured it.

Yeah thats pretty much what everyone thinks. "SF and LV were in a game alongside LS once 10 years ago and in a different Canon so they MUST always appear together in the same game every single time and can never be split up!"

*Sigh, O.K. Long ago, I was reserching this, and came across an interesting statment on Rockstargames.com

In an interview, Dan and Sam Houser said, Quote "In San Andreas, we were rushing to get the game completed, we didn't care how accurate it was, now in 2013 with GTA V almost finished, we can now say, this is a new Los Santos, it is the most accurate we have ever been, this is our chance to start over and recreate San Andreas..."

Now everyone should know recreate means 'to give new life or freshness'

I think they are planning to RECREATE San Andreas, Including LV and SF

As I have said in one of my other topics. GTA VI will not take place in Vice City, but LV or SF.

I sure hope so. I would love to see either SF or LV remade in HD. I wouldn't mind having either.

Honestly with the power of the new gen consoles they could do both in one massive state. If both consoles were to take a new form of compression that allows for the full 80GB of data on a DL-BD that could be possible or even if they were to go the digital route to supplement.

Las Venturas will be in this game in the future. Why do a game about heists and not include Las freakin' Venturas...

Because Casino Heists in Vegas is one of THE most over played, over used, over abused tropes in Movies and there isn't much that could be brought to it.

San Fierro is referenced in TBOGT a few times if i remember correctly, so there is no doubt they definitely exist in this HD universe, they probably didnt want to name drop them too often as people would take it as hints to the two cities becoming DLC somewhere down the line.

A heist based GTA set in LV has acrually been on my mind for a while now. Like a group of guys decide to hit every casino on the strip. So this wpuld be the main heists and each one has its own unique challenges and storylines. The only thing I havent been able to come up with is a convincing story as to why they would go through all the risk of performing so many casino heists

What happened is the fact that Rockstar decided to create a map as big as it could within reasonable amount of time, without making it too big and just copy/pasting stuff. Instead they wanted a proper map, with the story set in LS and surroundings and that's what it is.

SF and LV are somewhere out there, just not available in the game since this isn't San Andreas 2, this is GTA V, a new game in a new setting that only shares some basic similarities with SA in terms of setting, nothing more.

First; they are mentioned multiple times and are in San Andreas in the HD universe.

Second; DLC; they will at least double their money this way, instead of having them in the main game instead.

Third; Xbox one and PS4

Lol, then why do they keep revisiting the same cities instead of making new ones....

I was really annoyed that 4 was in LC AGAIN, without any country side or variety in landscape.

As for 5, I like this new Los Santos and I'm happy the brought back some of the contry side (even if it is without real forests and deserts) but it would be pretty cool to have more than 1 city.

They were on separate islands in San Andreas, there was bridges connecting them... They're still there, just not included.

Who doesn't call for more than one city?

But, technically it's only possible as much we have the game in the present configuration.

Yes, they could have created more changes in this map as well, but then that would cost them a bunch of things to get the game running smooth without much hiccups on the old consoles.

And, yes, they could have caused even a pile of changes along the development phase that might narrow the difficulties and possibly discover alternate solutions for the additional city.

All these technical aspects or developing the game, in general, are highly arguable and not easy for me or you to comment on it, Except I won't shy to accept, that retiring sh*tty consoles are one big cause behind many of the interesting things to be rolled back for future GTA.

This is why next GTA needs a location that hasn't been used before. It gives them a clean slate and people won't be complaining that this or this isn't in the game. I love the HD versions of LC and LS but it's time for a new place.

Yeah man I agree 100% we need a whole new state with multiple cities or in a perfect world the next game will include said bran new state with also Los Santos,San Fierro and Las Venturas.Hey a guy can dream.

As we've seen through the characters, radio and internet Red County, San Fierro, and Las Venturas are mentioned, confirming that these locations exist in the HD Universe, though it's quite possible that these cities are a part of the State of San Andreas but are not used in GTA V. Maybe we can expect future additions.

But part of the fun of any GTA game is its silly references (some less subtle than others). If there's mention of someone moving to or coming from VC, you know it's about the flashy life there. LC always gets picked on for having the worst weather and everyone in LS is just nuts. It would feel very awkward if they suddenly picked a new area and city for GTA VI, with no connection to the old games at all. At the same time, if they were suddenly making references to new cities in future updates, that would also be a big giveaway to future games. They kinda dug their own grave with their silly parody and universe style, because the only possibility for GTA VI would be SF/LV or both. Both would make sense, since I don't think SF has the power to be a game by itself. They would also have the opportunity to properly connect the two cities with a desert/mountain region, and learn from the mistakes of V's map (mainly that heading North leads nowhere). But still, they're running out of logical places for setting..

Not until they made Las Venturas, San Fierro och Vice City in HD.

San Diego and Tijuana would be my first choice, so many possibilities for fun missions and interesting protags. I'd like a Mexican cartel soldier who doesn't speak much English to begin with. Maybe also a protag from a gang based on Logan Heights, or one of there less influential rivals. I think this setting would suit the multiple protag system as well.

You're over thinking it. GTA maps don't really have any logic. They are built as Islands purely to allow the player to go everywhere with out running into invisible walls or mountains you can't get over.

GTA IV was set in two states Liberty State & Alderney State, but they are almost certainly not in their entirety.

Pretty much this! The problem with V though is that you can take off in a plane from LS but there's no other major airport to fly to. Kind of breaks the illusion a little bit for me.

CJ killed Ryder

Another confusing thing:

Why is the city on an island? Real life California isn't on an island.

Just joking. Haha!!!
