Idea: Urban Warfare add-on

(Notice to all trolls. Before you start spouting "Go play COD or Battlefield" please state intelligently in your post HOW this idea will turn GTAO into either of those. Also note that "It'll attract squeakers" is not a valid argument as GTAO is already overrun with them. Thank you.)


This update pack would add in items and clothing options to give GTAO more of an urban warfare setting such as tactical gear, weapons and APC vehicles.

Clothing options:

- Various Tactical armors in different colors and camouflage patterns and styles

- Ballistic helms:

With protective visor


Without protective visor


With Gas Mask

- Gloves:

Without Fingers


With Fingers

- Balaclava

- Military Boots in various colors:

- Knee and elbow pads. Can be worn over clothing.

- Protective Goggles:

- New caps, able to be worn front and backwards

- Gas Masks:

New Weapons:

- Flash-bangs: Blinds and deafens a target for 5 seconds. The screen flashes white and slowly fades back while audio is muffled overshadowed by a loud ringing noise.

- Missile Launcher: Two modes of fire. First fires a missile similar to the RPG. Second mode locks-on to air craft and fires a missile that tracks the target, similar to those fired from the Buzzard and Laser. Deals double the damage of the RPG and is highly effective against tanks, making it the perfect Anti-Tank weapon.

New Vehicle:

- Armored Personal Carrier (APC) for purchase from Military Surplus website. A heavily armored vehicle with HP equivalent to the Rhino tank but no cannon. Can hold up to 6 players. Driver + 5 passengers.

I not a huge fan of police/swat gear but I really love the idea of the masks and weapons. Not very sure about the tank though. We get enough sh*t with normal one already.

Also 10 second duration for the flash bang would be troublesome.

would love an APC. Doesn't even need to have a gun on it like in TBoGT (weak as it was). I just want something armored that I can about doing my business in without having to fear anyone, but that doesn't attract as much attention as a tank.

 

The Police Riot is actually pretty good for that already, bulletproof windows and resistant to grenades and stickies (to an extent, I think after 3 it blows up). Miss the days when we could own that.

It seems likely we will see some of this in the future. Rockstar has already received numerous requests for "role playing" gear. The funny thing is, the stuff role players want is the same stuff regular players want too.

The APC doesn't have a cannon. It's basically just a super armored car, perfect for heists or missions for extra protection and mobile cover.

The RPG you described is the FGM-148 Javelin it can lock-on to vehicles and attack them (even when the target is parked under a overpass) and it can lock-on to low flying aircraft. It has a range of ~2miles and has a rather large warhead. This could be a great equalizer against jets and tanks.

I just want a tank buster. To bust tanks, but something that isn't another tank. Someone made a thread like this earlier today and it said something about a javelin missile which I thought was cool. The tanks really do need a weak spot. Like one sticky bomb on the underside, like a real tank (thats where the weak spot is because of the emergency exit). So one sticky bomb exploded under the tank, I think should be a death for the driver and about 50% damage to the tank. Seems fair to me. Or the tracks get busted and immobilises the tank but means it can still shoot from the turret. Then at least it could be avoided.

 

I'd like to borrow my Rocket Launcher from Borderlands, that fires 5 rounds per second and each round deals x4 fire damage and looks a lot like napalm. Also my Double Anarchy SMG which is basically a shotgun that fires at 12x4 rounds a second.

Single Player has tactical clothing. NPCs have tactical clothing in both Online and Single Player.

 

It's f*cking clothing and equipment. People need to get their heads out of their asses and stop thinking that Call of Duty invented everything.

 

And GTA 4 had an APC.

That would be amazing for tanks.

Make that hits directly on top of the head for maximum damage like in BF.

Can we stop trying to turn everything into a generic military themed game? There's landfills of them out there. GTA is a freaking street crime oriented game ffs.

 

 

Yes, there's a freaking tank and a jet (and previously the hunter), but so what? Those have been around since 2001 & are meant more as little rewards for getting full completion of the game. They are not the focus of it whatsoever).

no it's enough of open warfare in free roam already, when your trying to enjoy the gameworld but that's pretty much pointless when your too busy having to watchout for white dots.
