Annoying Mafia Messages?

You don't seem to understand the concept of roleplay.

I like to play as a cop but I don't send my traffic stop victims a message saying, "send me $100 in the next 2 minutes or I'll chase you".

 

I don't want to pay anyone sh*t. Is this mafia messaging really a thing? I'm seriously tired of knowing each families score.

 

Hell, I don't even know in the lobby who the hell is in a mafia which means I had NO interaction with them. I'm just in the Recent Players list. What gives?

You have to understand criminals in order to effectively combat against them. If you don't understand why people want to be in the mafia, you're in the wrong job, son.

I totally agree with OP. I get these messages all the time, but I block communication from every idiot that sends it to me. Why would I care if people are killing other people in a gta game? You're (generally) supposed to!

roleplaying is more suited for PC games (like sa-mp) where you have a keyboard to directly communicate with others and control your character

I roleplay as a cop in terms of having a police car, the outfit, acting like a cop such as on patrol (take off map and player titles and look for suspicious driving, etc.) but I don't send messages to criminals. It's all fun and games, these mafias are taking things too seriously by getting the whole lobby involved into sh*t most people in said lobby doesn't care about. If it was a lobby with two families head to head, I would encourage that. Hell, it would remind me of the posse system in RDR and how my posse would get an invite from a 8-player posse and we'd either win or lose. We did it for fun or to settle a score that no one in my posse cared about (might be worth something to the other posse to win but for us it was to have fun).

 

If roleplay for you is like you're actually a real cop and be on constant alert and not pausing the game to take a piss, I wouldn't even want to be under your watch. Why do roleplay like a real job if there's no pay? It says it in the name: play. All you're doing is the role. I see roleplay as a mentality for a short time, not a lifestyle. But here I am judging people on how much they take their roleplaying. It's a huge thing and gives games a longer life and I respect and adore that...but this mafia thing is just "special". It's just the messages that annoy me, only that!

Nah but seriously I had a very clouded mind when typing that one out. I'll make sure to send you a message asking for adjectives when making my next topic.

Also, English isn't my "native tongue". I do try to get better with words, though.

 

Glad to see some of you guys get these too. Anyway, I'm calm now (I get these messages every time I play in a public lobby, so...every day which can be quite absurd) and I'll probably get more tonight if I got time to play. The best tactic for me, instead of wanting to shoot them all down or respond to their messages like an idiot, is to just ignore them. I've blocked some of the messages that came in so I'll keep doing that. Also, I'm surprised this is a thing and this topic isn't locked because of that. Didn't know if I was the only one getting so many of these.

 

Anyway, I've said all I had to about this topic and I'll leave it be. Feel free to comment more, leave this to die or turn it into a spam fest for it to get locked (but I haven't seen this type of thread before in the GTA:O section, at least in the general section of it).

Getting sent one of those messages is utterly annoying and amusing at the same time.

 

"Pr0xyKill3r was killed at 15:35pm by a sticky bomb, he was a threat for crashing into me so I made him look like a punk, this is a warning to everyone, you cross me and I will embarrass you in front of your crew." (sometimes includes vulgar words to make the sender sound big).

My reply? "LOL."

lol this is the thread that I wanted to see for ages.Boss xxxx and his mafia send me messages after killing their rivals every time I join accidentally their server,this is pretty funny.I started to send them same messages after killing their members,like "Boss J Gamberino was killed by me,using shotgun,at 12:36,in strip club.." all you do just obey your crew master's rules . if your master wanted create chaos , create chaos in session and leave no survivor !

if ur master want you burst your AK , rifled it to all non-crew player

 

only things i heard that mafia crew is i eavedropped some mafia hangout inside vanilla unicorn with help of lester's invisibility . after time nearly run out , managed to get out and rig a bomb on two capo's Z-type , getaway with entity XF & provoke those mafias until they get their Z-types and Zapped by car bomb . they discuss an insane man act violently on PS3 servers , killing teenagers , adults & squeakers . he describe this man is '' a monster in a tank with flaming trail '' , proclaiming himself as '' insane troll '' . this capo describe is obviously is me

I've only ever been threatened by in-game bosses like Al Whatshisnose when you do a lot of gang attacks against the same gang. I've never seen one of these messages from a player.

I encountered this mafia thing in a few sessions ago. 7 people(2 on lazer jet) in the same crew were spawn-killing me in the airport. I couldn't escape(even in passive mode) without a tank , and I couldn't even bothered to quit. Few minutes later, I finally got my way out and camp at the apartment. Then their leader sent a message that he was impressed and he wants me to join his clan but I need to remove all my existing crews and change my gamertag.

 

So, I sent him a reply "how about wrap up your crew request and shove it up in your hairy ass" then I blocked him.

Chillax little G, they're just roleplaying and not looking to be legit mafia. Besides, what fun is it profiteering off of unionized labor and construction contracts? The fantasy is more fun than the reality.

I don't quite understand the point of the msgs, but it would be pretty cool if you and your friends dressed up in suits, and someone drives you around in a limo, don't you think?

 

That's what the point of my thread is. I honestly would not care if I wouldn't receive a message from a family every time I played in public lobbies. I think the idea of families, crews and clans is good and I wanted to be in one of those 3 with real members for a long time but anyone doing so much publicity is just annoying.

 

So PS3 got no one messaging them.

How about Xbox 360, anyone here get these messages?

No, I just get friends requests on PSN - or the occasional message from someone who I have been battling with (not usually very nice)! lol

 

But funnily enough, I just loaded up Online - haven't done anything yet, im just stood in the garage.

 

I get some texts from the contacts (thanks for doing a good job on that mission, etc.).

 

Then there is one from a random lvl 42 in Portuguese/Spanish that says:

 

"me da dinheiro pff"

 

gives me dinheiro pff

pff me the money

 

= give me the money!? lol

 

Weird co-incidence, he is in a crew - 'the bastards' (not the Mafia)...

 

I told him 'give me money', he replied 'dont have any' - I advised him to play R.R. :0)
