No Forced weapon option in Capture Creator

OK, I fooled around with the Capture creator for half an hour yesterday and I don't remember if it has a "Forced Weapons" option. Then I asked some friends which confirmed that now (as I am not at home). If that is really the case, then I have a major problem with this.

 

This is not a complaining topic rather a discussion on what we can do with the Capture Creator considering the lack of "Forced weapon" option (available in DM Creator).

 

So in case you don't see the problem, here it is.

 

I had so many ideas for Capture before it was released.

 

E.g. making a proper Bunker Capture where one team is defending the money bags inside the bunker and armed to teeth with some heavier weapons Combat MG's and 1 RPG (NO MINIGUNS) etc. Then the 2nd team - cops is armed only with basic weapons as SMG, few Carbine rifles and one sniper which is difficult to reach (up the hill). I made this concept as TDM and worked well, except that I want to fix the spawn points which I cannot do completely with the deathmatch creator. Now with the release of Capture Creator I can finally fix the spawn points, even add some NPC protectors of the Bunker, but I cannot force any weapons. Anyone can use any weapon, which will turn out in Minigun/RPG only deathmatch. This destroys this concept (few RPG's at the bunker and everyone inside will be dead in a second) as well as many other ideas which NEED forced weapon in a capture.

 

Any thoughts/suggestions on workaround solution - let me know.

 

So far it looks that I will still do my creative stuff only in DM/Race Creator.

Send them an email - you're not the first person to complain about this feature missing and since it's out for only a day now I wouldn't be surprised if they added this feature if enough people asked them for it.

They NEED to add the Forced Weapons option.

 

GTA Captures are so much better when there's no sticky bombs present. People have to ram the driver off the road and shoot him down which is definitely more fun and challenging and provides the driver a better chance of capturing rather than being instantly blown up the moment someone comes close.

 

I've been meaning to do a Cargobob Capture and a Titan Capture but use of explosives limits this.

 

I fully support the idea of adding the option to creator because honestly, I'm surprised they didn't add it. We need to take action.

Yea'd like to set forced weapons to pistols in my smokey and the bandit capture so people will play it for the thrill of the chase rather than camping the dropoff point.

The addition will certainly increase the options gameplay wise, so I hope they add it in.

 

Seriously impressed so far, even if its a bit buggy.

It's the biggest issue with Capture for me, you try playing GTA: Post OP capture round, three teams competing to get 2 big slow moving trucks, easily stopped everytime by explosives....it's so f*cking dumb, and close to impossible to get one of these trucks back because you can't stop sticky bombs.

 

We need to make a big deal out of this, because some reason R* are blind to the faults in the game.

Yeah, our choices of making Captures are limited because of this restriction.

 

I scrapped all my initial ideas for Captures, instead I am doing things which are feasible with Owned Weapons=on.

 

I made 2 Captures: 2 teams spawning with unarmed helicopters going at a rooftop full of NPC guards, take the stuff and deliver to the airport. No problem at all it's Owned weapons, I tried it few times already.

 

The second one is with a Bunker made of cabins, full of NPC guards again, both team start with boats and shoot each other on their way to the bunker. So it's more of a Water battle, shooting from the boats. Therefore no problem with Owned weapons either.

 

It's the biggest issue with Capture for me, you try playing GTA: Post OP capture round, three teams competing to get 2 big slow moving trucks, easily stopped everytime by explosives....it's so f*cking dumb, and close to impossible to get one of these trucks back because you can't stop sticky bombs.

 

We need to make a big deal out of this, because some reason R* are blind to the faults in the game.

It should be a really simple addition, but I guess R* can see the amount of $ they could make from players constantly spamming the $600 stickies at the easy capture targets, so decide to leave it in. I've become very cynically of R* since their decision to delay and delay Heists, sure the modders and pathetic hackers didn't help matters, but the average gamers who looked forward to certain stuff, shouldn't suffer.

Needs to stay that way, it adds to the competition & which the captures are designed to be, without it you'll quickly see forced RPG & fist captures.

Yes they also need to add invincibility when testing as optional, because then I could better figure out the difficulty with the AI I've added and also I would like to see the respawns in practice. They also need to make us able to swap between some of the placed stuff like in the deathmatch and race creator, because it's annoying when I have some things placed far apart from each other and I have to move the camera between them and it wastes my time.

 

Also you can't spawn trailers for some reason. I think they don't want us to make them the capture vehicle, because you can't move it properly without a truck or Cargobob, but I think they could somehow force a truck or a Cargobob spawn to go along with it or something, because capturing trailers would actually be pretty neat. Also I wish you could make a capture where the bag is in a moving train, but I don't really see anyway of doing it as of right now.

I totally agree OP. I've put together some RDR style DMs and was really looking forward to bring back some RDR grab the bag style matches. But the whole point of them was to not have all of the massive weapons available. It completely changes the style of matches I want to create.

Also, they need to add the option to either use current team respawn zones or add specific team respawn points.

 

At the moment, you can't make an indoor capture at all. I even tried the sewers/subways and it's just not possible for 4 teams.

Dude....

OVER HALF the notes of EVERY update concerns glitches and exploits that are used by glitchers/hackers.

 

How anyone can go around saying that R* doesnt care and is holding out because they are greedy is total nonsense unless you know some R* developers/programmers personally who have told you.

It is entirely reasonable to think that things would get implemented/added in half the time if they weren't spending so much of their time dealing with the douchebags and children who simply refuse to play a game as it was intended.

@Charlie: The team respawn "Bubble" is not mandatory for Capture. If you don't set one, you can still publish the capture, then people will respawn close to where they died.

 

By the way, another feature people don't know about is that you can place NPC actors inside a vehicle (set them to "stationary" and then place them inside the vehicle). You can even put multiple NPCs in the same vehicle. After they're killed they will respawn again in the vehicle! :D

 

Anyway, on the subject for "forced weapons" again. As I mentioned earlier - we just need to explore other ideas since we cannot force weapon. For example yesterday I made a "Racing Capture". It's designed in a way that there almost no shooting, and that's why it doesn't matter if it has forced weapons or not.

Description: 2 teams start in the opposite sides of the map. Each with 8 Super cars and 5 of their own briefcases. They have to deliver theirs to the opposite side of the map before the other team. It's more of a racing competition than a Capture/Deathmatch. .... Or is it? /// Rev. 2

Would you care to explain the reasoning behind your disagreeing with this being an option? Not having the option limits our ability to execute our ideas so that they turn out fun. GTA Style captures suffer the most from not having this option.

High level weapons can give you an unfair advantage. And even if they do give this option it's not like it'll affect all capture jobs.

I don't believe they intend to add this to captures. It has not been available for the Rockstar captures. Though I can agree that it would be a nice addition to customize some jobs I would not count on it becoming available.

 

I wouldnt mind rather than forcing one weapon to be presented with a list of weapons similar to vehicle lists in race creator and be able to restrict specific owned weapons from use.

 

The problem is in general that the top tier weapons are OP.

Let's set a situation GTA capture with forced weapons your whole team gets wiped out you respawn with nothing but a pistol how do you balance that out vs a team that have all the objectives and all the weapons?

 

I would be more happy with the ability to lock out set weapons over totally restrict all of them and have pick ups.

Well, to me that's still forced weapon settings anyway, just a matter of semantics. And to tell the truth, what we should have gotten anyway.

What I mean it's a better option to take out weapons that you dislike from your capture whilst letting players spawn with the same weapons. So no pistol vs picked up RPG or picked up minigun.

Which is why I'm in favour of what you and Luap said, personally. I also agree that I don't see it happening; If Rockstar thought things like All Abhorred were fine with explosives and miniguns, there's not much chance. But hey, if enough people suggest it.. who knows.

I see these captures as basically the same thing as the Simeon Vehicle mission in freeroam only everyone in it has agreed to participate and there are more objectives.

 

I havent actually bothered to look...are Pegussus, Meriweather or Lester abilities available in these?

@luap You can use reveal players and back up helicopter in captures think you can use Airstrike too not sure.

If I remember correctly the forced option wasn't available in the early days for DM's either.

 

Everyone who wants this needs to email R* about it. They do listen and make changes if there's enough people calling for it. They added the ghost racing because of the feedback they received.

Yeah of course it is alaways on Owned weapons in Captures. Don't you know that the online community can't function without their constant supply of Sticky Bombs, RPGs, Miniguns and Assualt-Shotguns.

 

I was waiting for ages for Capture Creatkr to come out.

 

When it did cos you can't put it on Forced and Pick-ups or even a disallow guns tab I'd say it was an epic fail with some good features on it (Actor Placement, Team Re-spawn Areas)

I wouldn't call it a failure. There's a reason the creator says beta. They want feedback and they will make changes. What we have is not the final form.

Blowing up the other teams vehicle to stop them scoring is a pretty valid tactic crying about sticky bombs that unlock at rank 19 is that serious?

RPG's and Miniguns I can understand.
