I didn't even realize you could 'gift' cars to others. Was this along the same vein as being able to share money from previous jobs with others, i.e. a menu option? Or were you simply parking cars next to them, allowing them to 'steal' and store them in their own garages? Wouldn't the trackers have prevented you from doing the latter?

Personally, I enjoy giving newbies who are being overtly griefed by douchers access to my tank and/or heavy weapons.

Basically you pick a random vehicle off the street, modify it fully with the performance and aesthetic mods, then let them sell it for a easy 70-120k depending on the vehicle.

Misanthrope Z

so you can't spend money to help lower levels with a first car that isn't a piece of sh*t

however you CAN get a tank and blow up personal vehicles for free

some of these patches are extremely ass backwards lol

Although I agree that it sucks that legit players can't do this for lower levels, as all the money is earned legit and it is something that can really help develop a sense of community, those that didn't quite follow the rules also had this ability. Considering the fact that R* is trying to preserve what economy they have left, having a bunch of money glitchers going around giving away vehicles, which could be sold for their virtual currency, is something that R* could view as gamebreaking. There are still glitches that allow players to dupe vehicles and gain mass amounts of money. Until R* is able to keep "free money" glitches from happening, they will most likely keep options like being able to give away modded cars and gifted cash under wraps.

Yeah, it sucks. I still have 3 cars that were modded for me with full armor and all upgrades that someone gave me when I was starting out. I was gonna mod some cars for some friends once I hit lvl 100 (I'm 92 now) but I guess I should've just done the 80% armor cause now they get nothing

You can't gift money for obvious reasons and this was just a work around that needed to be fixed.

It's a dick move by them. Nothing to do with dupes.

More about sharing the money. If low lvl players starting out are given cars worth 100k+ they would have no incentive to buy shark cards.

Same sh*t when they put the 10k cap on stolen cars. Buy that didnt work as they intended.

It's nice to be given a maxed out car w/ BP tires when you just starting. It's a bitch to get away with flat tires..

Doesn't matter anyway, there was already dupe methods out within hrs of the patch.

With the money glitches being patched, I don't see how this is their method of containing the "money glitches".

The next best thing now is to host RR and give away your share of the job afterwards. On the plus side, you're actively earning the money you give away, so your end result is an even balance, and some RP.

So in 1.12 turns out you can't give cars that you modded in the slightest to other players.rWxBbvZ.gifWELL DONE R*.

So now if you want to help a poor player who can't seem to get a break on GTAO (That's going for us players who aren't complete dicks online, and enjoy giving to people, especially with legit money) you're dead out of luck. Feel free to post your opinion about this horrid update.

All they give a sh*t about is turning more profits with their cash cards.

Seriously? That's a new low for them, thankfully there are still other ways to help out but it'll take longer.

None of R*'s changelists ever bothered me until now

I forgot to add this in, yeah it's a major low. I can pretty much guess they're doing this so people are forced to by shark cards.

Wrong. Even if the low level buys a cash card, he still has to win races to unlock certain things. So your statement is invalid.

And none of you can see how this is completely exploiting the game's whole entire underlying purpose of making people work for nice things..?

Not once have cash cards been forced on the players. Nobody is making you buy them..!

People are definitely overreacting. This definitely doesn't warrant the thread title. I mean really.....noobs can find their way like the rest of us. Nearly everyone ranked under 30 that I've run into recently in an RR lobby had ALREADY played the mission. Even dudes below rank 20. They may be 'noobs' but most are certainly making cash

I have a ticket into R* about this, I really do think you should be able to share anything you want with your fellow GTA player, even cash, hopefully that option will come back now that they have patched the money glitches. But a player should be able to transfer the car to another player if they want.

Reading this makes me very glad that I no longer play this bullsh*t game made by a (turns out) bullsh*t company. Haven't played it in close to a month and at this rate I'll never be playing a newly bought Rockstar game ever again. Can't wait for them to go the way of Luxoflux, Midway, Eidos, Acclaim, Infogrames, etc., etc. It doesn't matter how well received or how well your games sell, if you alienate your core consumers then your company will fold, especially in an industry as competitive and cut-throat as the VG industry. Good riddance Rockstar; you made some damn fine games until you started acting like your namesake...

Yea, they might not have to work for that quick 100Gs, but what could that get him? An apartment or garage that's it. It's not like we're forcing a FM vehicle up their asses telling them to sell it every 48 minutes.

Honestly? The best way to help lower levels is:

- participate in co-op missions

- don't sabotage tasks/missions

- don't repeatedly stalk and kill them with weapons they can't access with stats that are nowhere near yours

- don't kill them when they are: exiting their garage or shopping

Thanks,

-A level 25

One severe flaw arises:

Upon unexpected encounter with an armed player, there is no way to know what level the player in front of you is without pressing start, noting his name from his marker on the map, then opening the Players list to see the level corresponding to the player name.

It's long and it can get you killed if YOU don't act first. Day Z certainly has taught me a few things about trusting total strangers who are holding a weapon in-hand.

I can understand patching money glitches, but this? R* doesn't like money glitching and cheating in GTA Online but they sure do love selling their cash cards which is basically paying to cheat.

To be honest, it wouldn't really surprise me if R* introduced RP cards into GTA Online. And for the ones saying Cash cards are optional, well that doesn't mean R* doesn't like to shove them into peoples faces all of the time with low mission payouts and high prices. Hell they even advertise them in their own game. Its in an in game radio commercial for F**K sake. And R* wonders why people glitch money.

While I have not time for poor peoples problems its just as well that the SP2MP still works :) Our QOTD Spray shop is open to crew again, for now. :)

p.s The only real bullsh*t from R* is the Line of sight blip bull sh*t!!!!. You didn't get that in other Capture the flag game! complete defeats the point of DM and Capture!!

Press down on the D-Pad and the player list comes up - simple and quick!

Correct, but you're unable to see which player is coming towards you, unless you pause and go to maps, then leave the menu and press down on the d pad to check their level.

I don't like that you can't sell the vehicles you found during a mission. I've sold tens of Ballers and Oracles after missions before 1.12. You still need to find those, which is work. And as Rockstar tries to make this game better ("do your own success" ideology), they also vanish something that is not "illegal".

All in all it's just good that you can't give money (or things worth money) to your friends.
