So in 1.12 turns out you can't give cars that you modded in the slightest to other players.rWxBbvZ.gifWELL DONE R*.

So now if you want to help a poor player who can't seem to get a break on GTAO (That's going for us players who aren't complete dicks online, and enjoy giving to people, especially with legit money) you're dead out of luck. Feel free to post your opinion about this horrid update.

Yeah. I enjoyed doing this when I was able.

However, there are still other ways to help lower-level players, like hosting RR for them.

Friendly Lava Lamp

This is an unfortunate thing yes, but there were dupes associated with it I heard. So they patched it to come their self. Hopefully they will fix it to where cars under $100k can be given away.

Seriously? That's a new low for them, thankfully there are still other ways to help out but it'll take longer.

None of R*'s changelists ever bothered me until now

Pretty much, but like like puchicas said,

Which is true, since I'm a level 84 I'm fully capable of doing so, so I probably will. It benifits us both, I level up to my RPG, and they get the money AND levels they need. But I still miss giving cars away, especially since I can fully upgrade them in every way BUT the 100% armor.

Used to mod cars for newbies and crew members who're in need of money.. Oh well.

Yeah, that definitely irks me a bit. I really want to believe that it was done due to glitches and that R* decides to put it back in if they sort everything out, but I'm not holding my breath.

I forgot to add this in, yeah it's a major low. I can pretty much guess they're doing this so people are forced to by shark cards.

Not really new news by this point surely?

Anyway, I can see the rationale behind it, I can agree with acting upon that rationale. The method of dealing with it however, was pretty arbitrary though, so I hope they revisit it in the future to implement a more workable solution.

Now would be a good time to publicly thank the complete stranger who gave me his car to sell in game. That $150K was critical for me when I first started, before I could find people to host RR. I was hoping to do this for others to pay it forward. But now...

Used in the past to share glitched money. Used to give cars glitched in from sp. Possibly connected to duping exploits?

Not sure its purely r* that's to blame for this change. Yes, they MADE the change but given the evidence that they want players to be nice to each other (good/bad sport, crew system) its unlikely they'd have done it just to stop people being nice.

What fuc*ing kind of multiplayer game bars you from helping others..... Looks like they are taking tips from Blizzard...

Honestly? The best way to help lower levels is:

- participate in co-op missions

- don't sabotage tasks/missions

- don't repeatedly stalk and kill them with weapons they can't access with stats that are nowhere near yours

- don't kill them when they are: exiting their garage or shopping

Thanks,

-A level 25

R* really shoved a huge pine cone up our asses with this useless patch :)

I'm still freezing like 6 Times daily but the only thing they bothered fixing is harmless glitches an whatnot

I haven't given any cars away but I have allowed my friends to dupe my fully modded rides, either to keep or sell.

I'm honestly surprised it took R* this long to patch it.

You can thank the people who misused & exploited the feature to the point R* had to take it away.

Some people can't play right....we all get our toys taken away.

Was also a decent way to hold a "contest" among crew members, friends, what have you. "Winner gets $100K for a demolition derby (or a stolen car of their choice for them to keep, modded)". Sure there's other ways but it's somewhat annoying all the same.

Its funny how R* fixes harmless glitches or useless things like giving cars to other players. But instead they fail to fix the most important thing which freezing and cuz this the games is freaking unplayable. Great job R*

"Cant get a break in GTAO"

You don't need a break, you just need to play the game. Tell your mates to go by cash cards if their sissy ass can't play properly.

I was once a low level, twice actually. (First account a level 63 got deleted for a diff game) and this account. High levels like to rag on you and flat out mess up everything. I pull out of my garage, dead. I pull into my garage, dead. Driving down the free-way in a crappy but just bought car, gets blown up and/or killed. The problem is high levels can bash on lowlevels who have little chance at beating them.

EDIT:: So point is, some people get a rough start and can't get out of it. Which is why helping out can be nice from time to time.

stfu this isn't forcing people to buy anything.. I'm level 169 and have yet to buy a cash card. Not once have I even felt the need or urge to buy one neither and have had every single new car released in DLC so far.

They simply don't want it to be where brand new players are all running around with chradders and entity's, if they actually work towards those things like most the other player it gives more of a sense of accomplishment than just being handed to them.

GTAO was meant to be vaguely along the lines of an MMO where you actually work to acquire nice things. RR or Coveted a few times will buy most cars and apartments.

If people want to buy cash cards then more power to em. It's essentially cheating for the rich, in no way is it forced on players.

You obviously can't grasp the fact that a major corporation named R* that's already shat on us a thousand times during this game already, is doing it again. Basically saying, "f*ck you, buy the cards."

I get that, but sometimes it's fun to take a break from the side of GTA where everyone kills everybody for no reason, and like helping. I know I'm not alone :p

I didn't even realize you could 'gift' cars to others. Was this along the same vein as being able to share money from previous jobs with others, i.e. a menu option? Or were you simply parking cars next to them, allowing them to 'steal' and store them in their own garages? Wouldn't the trackers have prevented you from doing the latter?

Personally, I enjoy giving newbies who are being overtly griefed by douchers access to my tank and/or heavy weapons.
