Online Lockup/ Storage box concept?

Wouldn't it be cool if If a lockup or storage box was implemented into online? Where instead of owning Cop cars or other unstorable vehicles, you could put them in this lockup where they will be saved.

You can purchase the vehicles online or just steal them off the street and store 5 or more, and if they are destroyed you have to call up Mors Mutual or steal another. Maybe only have a few modifications available (bullet proof tires, window tints, armor upgrades, etc..).

I think it would be a pretty sweet idea. What do you guys think and tell me what you would want added to it.

if we didnt keep up with the payments, they could then be auctioned off?

Interesting concept, maybe charge $100 per vehicle in the lockup and if they ever run out of money there stuff is 'auctioned off' on the website for cheaper then what it would be to modify the car yourself. Pretty neat idea.

I'd rather they just let me store it in my garage.. Makes no difference. Just sayin.

I agree for the sake of conveniences, but there response to that is "they are overpowered for free roam". What does that even mean?

Yeah, why add a totally new thing to the game when you could just add what the players want very easily?

Wouldn't make a difference, it's still our personal vehicle in a way, it'll still be too OP blaring sirens with a police buffalo and Marlena Shaw California Soul blasting through the speakers.

Because they said that adding them to your personal garage would be unfair, or something like that. They said that in late November I believe. So idk. I don't expect them to be store able in garages anytime soon if at all.

And honestly, I wouldn't want a fire truck taking up almost a full row in my garage.

I wish R* would do this (probably only on the next-gen as it would take some big space) but Forza Motorsport 3 & 4 had an Auction House. You'd have a bid starting from X amount and a buyout with a crazy price if you wanted the car for yourself. Rich players would do the buyout, poor players would find the cheapest car in a certain class and add a few upgrades to it. People would auction stock cars very cheap as you would usually sell your cars you win via races for 100 credits. People would sell some Volkswagen or Civic for like 1,000 credits. Others had a special paintjob.

If R* were to use this, I would imagine a lot of Chrome Adders with crazy prices, a few special cars (cop car, etc), it would make people money and would boost the community feel. Goddamn, this would be so sweet!

OT: A lock-up owned by the city would be great. Have cars you can't privately own but borrow would be good. Or work for the city, say, have the right to use a cop car or firetruck with no stars given. Or make Lester's "Locate Car" ability (that no one uses) change so you select "Locate Car" and you have a car list. You pick a car, say, cop car, and he locates one for you that gives you no stars and you have it for 24 hours in-game. You can either return it or pay again to have it for another day....say, $200 per day?

I don't recall them ever saying that. If you had a link to that that would be cool.

I don't buy the fact that cars on par with low tier sports cars that make wooing noises is considered overpowered, but a car with unmatched speed and handling and a bulletproof rear is ok. Also, obviously you wouldn't be able to store a fire truck.

Anything that fits in one car slot should be able to be stored, anything bigger should be a Pegasus vehicle. That is how the game should be.

100% agree to all of this. I would pay for DLC like this.

Ill look for the thread that Brian B. commented on, but again it was back in November :/

And I agree if it can fit in the garage it should be available in the garage. For cops cars and other emergency vehicles not being available from Pegasus is beyond me, they allow us to own buses and shuttles but not cop cars...?

Nice job OP, their are some great ideas in this thread. You should definitely send a email to [email protected] and [email protected] Definitely want Rockstar to see these ideas as I really want to own a FIB Suburban (Granger) and this has been the best idea for it outside of just letting us put it in our standard garage.
