If R* wants to make a new protagonist seem tough by killing off a previous protagonist, they should expect some people to be upset and some to even hate the new protagonist. The people who don't care, didn't really care about Johnny, which is fine, but don't act like it doesn't make sense for some people to be upset about it. It's also the way they killed him off. If it was Niko who got stomped, I'd be equally as pissed as some other people feel. The fact remains that his death was a sh*t one. He didn't have a good ending; a bit of cry baby screen time and then stomp...he's dead. I don't think it was a great ode to a previous protagonist, whatever your feelings about TLAD as a game are. They owed him something better considering this; even if it was just a DLC game. But maybe there was more purpose to it, in that they wanted people to hate Trevor but also love him over time. I think though they could of killed him off in a much better way than they did but then again I dont really think his character belonged in GTA V to begin with. He kept fighting for the Lost instead of himself. He was smart but he was a naive. He thought he could have fixed the Lost but he didn't. I saw early that he still had feelings for Ashley but I hated how he would keep doing things to save her or help her because of those hidden feelings. I wanted her to OD near the end of the story but when she survived and Johnny ended the story with little money I couldn't help but imagine he would end up negatively after the story. So lets go a few years later and GTA V comes out. I see him and I am amazed and happy that he comes back but then I realized he became a meth addict and tries to reason with an obvious lunatic. Ashley cheated on him with Trevor and he knew it. He didn't do anything about it. He was weak. After the second playthrough I came to think he deserved it. It was a sad but powerful ending for Johnny. He was probably the most grittiest and toughest protag in the HD Universe but because of a woman he died at the hands of the next generation's psycopath. If he didn't love her so much he wouldn't have lost some of his friends, if he didn't love her so much he wouldn't have touched the drugs, if he didn't love her so much he probably could have defended himself against Trevor. He may of died shamefully but I felt like he deserved that death. My opinion though and y'all are probably going to disagree with me and try to flame me but those are my opinions. I understand they wanted to start off on a violent path with Trevor and start off with a bang but that was a stupid way. I mean even if they wanted to kill him off, have him go a few missions doing those battles with the Lost MC with Johnny still alive followed by a shoot out or something at the hang out place for the MC. When Tlad was announced I expected Johnny to be more like Billy Grey or something like Trevor, not some rounded morality c*nt so that everyone could identify themselves with him. He even wears clothes everyone could agree on, grey and black. When in fact his looks in vanilla were more authentic. And the hints in gta 4 Johnny being a crazy maniac...he wasn't anything like that. It was a good idea to get rid of the lost like we see it in v. Then again, it's kind of poor rockstar needed to introduce trevor like that. Trevor and Michael being killable in the end even makes the whole thing more ridiculous. snakewithoutatongue Posted April 19, 2014 Share Posted April 19, 2014 instead of bringing johnny k back with ashley and as methhead they should have used johnny k in a feature biker dlc as the leader of The Lost Mc and should have shown them too robbing the stores with we playiing in one end as a lost mc biker who respects johnny k and johnny k as the leader and at one end as the three ass clown's that we have now and they should have performed robbries opposite of them and their could have been some mission in which there is a massive shootout betweent them in the end the three assclown's should have raided the lost safehouse like a mission of trevor and killed johnny k and in another dlc the biker who we controlled could have become the leader and gotten revenge(he cam be get killed too). He used to be one of the ugliest, least detailed bikers in Vanilla (all he had was a neck tattoo and The Lost MC logo on his back). Even his clothes weren't much to look at.
