Sooo... are we getting the fun weapons back?

Free DLC is awesome and all, but I've been VERY disappointed with the weapons we've been given so far with the exception of the Tommy Gun which I think is obscure enough to be worth of including into the game. And now the weapon slots in Ammunation are slowly being filled up by what are essentially just variations of the same weapons that came with GTA V 1.0. I fear that we'll end up missing out on popular weapons like the Flame Thrower, Chainsaw, and Katana at this rate.

 

How likely do you think it is we'll be seeing the more out-there 3D-era weapons in V at this point?

We need the flamethrower and the iconic chainsaw, although i'm happy with the current weaponry. Hopefully in the first SP DLC,

Out of the three, I think the flamethrower would be the most likely. Rockstar hasn't shown that they can incorporate dismemberment into GTA again yet, so I doubt they'd reskin the baseball bat to be an underwhelming katana, or add a chainsaw that didn't eviscerate people.

 

What I really want is some sort of AA launcher, like a stinger or a strela. That, and/or a revolver.

Forget the outrageous weapons like that, I just want some of the basics... The revolver from Vice City, ANY revolver, the the backwoods rifle from SA, the double barrel sawn-off from TLaD, the street sweeper from TLaD, the .44 pistol from TBoGT,

Something other than the Modern Warfare-esc weapons we already got. I should be able to shoot Blaine County hicks with hick weapons!

I would love for these weapons to return. Hopefully they add them as free dlc in the future.

No thanks to the chainsaw and flame thrower. I'd rather see interesting melee options: hatchet, machete, throwing knives etc.

Katana.

Revolver.

Brass knuckles.

Guided RPG.

I wouldn't mind a wildly expensive JB700 that is active. 10 million wouldn't be a bad starting price to be james bond online. It would boost shark card sales too. Although it's kind of a weapon vehicle. The hick weapons thing was a great idea, I always like the idea of more domestic guns. In all seriousness I have little qualms with the artillery we have now though.

I would LOVE a chainsaw or flamethrower. Imagine Trevor chasing people down with a hockey mask and chainsaw.

 

I'd really like bolt action hunting rifle from RDR, like a Springfield or or even a repeated like a Winchester. And a revolver, they could just take asserts from RDR.

 

Or perhaps a WW2 style rifle like the M1 garand.

Competition bow, would make cense as there is a "hunting" minigame. Lara Croft style FTW.

One weapon I've always wanted since playing MGS3 back in 04 was a tranquilizer weapon. Something non-lethal that incapacitates people... the taser pretty much killed them, though I liked it in the game.

That wall in Ammunation is pretty big friends. I see us getting a lot more weapons, if they are any count remains to be seen. I miss the little random ones,like brass knuckles, or the screwdriver from VICE. Lol i used to love running up on people and sticking a screwdriver in their back. Instant death! I really met some nice people and found out a lot about myself back then.

The three weapons I always wish were in this game were the chainsaw, flamethrower, and katana. I understand the person up above who mentioned wanting the revolver from Vice City and I respect them for wanting it but this game honestly has too many pistols as it is.

I'm not sure if they'll bring back the chainsaw. With the current graphics imagine how gorey it would look. Still, R* probably wouldn't care, so it could be a possibility.

Does anyone remember the harpoon gun from crackdown, where you could stick pedestrians To your car using the harpoon gun? Im not sure if that'd work in GTA but it's be pretty fun

 

I was expecting a flamethrower, but I'm not too sure on Rockstars stance on that.

 

And I think a chainsaw would be acceptable, it wouldn't be too Gorey, just like how it was in SA, no actual dismemberment and no blood on screen.

Well, for me, the weapons that we are given with these free DLC just feels the same... I don't really see the point of having 5 machine guns where we could have some great weapons from older GTA's...

I agree with Drunken Cowboy that we should definitely have some basics weapons instead of some identical guns. But I would also love to see the chainsaw, the katana, the flame thrower back, I remember in Vice City or in San Andreas the fun I had with these weapons .

Hey DeafMetal, I was actually thinking of making a thread EXACTLY like this but for vehicles instead of weapons.

 

One of my complaints was that the DLC always adds new cars that are just generic sports cars and stuff....I want the FUN vehicles back.

The ones we saw in SA that weren't in V...

 

 

 

 

 

 

I'd rather take DLC of these guys rather than some sports cars...

Yeh the next AR slotted weapon they make better be that or some high powered semi auto rifle. I mis that Ruger in VC

 

But yeh I like the dlc weapons so far but they do need to get back into giving us more...umm...gta like weapons. Like the flame thrower, chainsaw, or whatever.

 

Oh and freaking ALLOW US TO BUY MOLOTOVS AT THE AMMUNATION!

Yeh I think im pretty much tapped out on all these super cars as well. We need to bring some new unique vehicles.

 

 

 

 

You know now that I think about it, I think they are saving the best for last when the big SP DLC comes out.
