Should Low Level People have access to Powerful Weapons

Would you guys think that R* is making a mistake by giving a free sports car(Elegy RH8) to noobies

Nope, sure wouldn't. It was a nice car to have when I was new...

If anything, I'm all for it.

It certainly should help even the playing field. Higher ranks are usually much more experienced anyway.

I liked things much better in October when the best gun most people had was the standard carbine. I don't mind them having access to one or two powerful weapons given that they're going up against tanks rpgs mini guns and so on.

In the end I don't mind. But no they shouldn't. It doesn't make sense that some had to work while newbies get and advantage many of us did not have. Don't care about the pistol. But they special carbine somewhat evens the field.

I'd agree but I'm not for this half baked idea regarding a "rank" system. It's just not implemented very well. Previously I could understand frustration with how the lower ranks had virtually zero way to defend themselves against bullies (yes some inherent game dynamics). I can understand working to earn money in this game to buy things. What a tougher sell to me is adding "experience points" to unlock things in a game such as this IMO. The Special Carbine at least gives them an opportunity to fight back but also at the same time undermines the very idea of the "rank". Should just be done away with all together or re-structured/re-thought.

CarimboHanky

i think its super fair...

after all the higher your level the higher your health, so while a low level can die from 2-3 bullets i can take more.

I think its kinda lame. A level 10 that has enough money can buy the special carbine and stand a chance against a level 100. Especially in free aim.

They will get wrecked most of the time by a high level players because they have more experience it won't matter anyways

i agree. typically, when you can catch someone outside of the lock zone and mow them down, but they rely heavily on it to get kills, you will win almost every time.

...yeah...how is that NOT fair? Oh, because you think you should rape the new people constantly, right? Well, how are they going to get better then?

This

Hell I could use the AK in deathmatches and still do the same.

Only high level guns that makes a big difference is the rpg,GL, and the heavy sniper

Yes. The guns still cost money and they need a garage to even get the elegy RH8. Besides, despite being free, they still have to unlock the armor, speeds, brakes upgrades, and bullet proof tires for the car.

nah they shouldnt. they should work for it just like how we all worked for it. i was perfectly fine at a lower level. i think i was too stingy to even buy an assault rifle until level 40 or something cause i was saving for an apartment.

You know, just trying to figure out if people actually read the OP or just go by the title...you DO know OP is talking about the Special Carbine and the Heavy Pistol, right? The DLC weapons? Yeah, those should NOT be unlocked by rank and SHOULD be available to everyone, since it's R*s DLC, not by rank. How exactly did you "work for" the special carbine and the heavy pistol??

Having powerful weapons at a low level defeats the purpose of ranking up.

No it doesn't. Higher ranked players have more health and should have better strength and shooting stats then low levels don't. They also have access to better weapons like the RPG, heavy sniper, and mini gun.

Giving low levels players access to a decent assault rifle at least gives them a fighting chance. The only reason I can see that people would dislike low level players being able to defend themselves is because they are a douchebag who enjoys killing people who only have access to a SMG and low health.

Let them have the weapons. They have much lower heath than anyone else anyway. Ive never understood the concept of giving the weakest most inexpirinced players the crappiest weapons and giving high ranked players, with a lot of hours under their belt, the best.

they should lower the rank requirements for the ak47 and make the special carbine level 100+

As the average rank of the population increases, it gets harder and harder for new players to compete. R* wants the population to be refreshed steadily I'd assume so it makes sense to give new players a touch of help and I agree with that. We still have more health, better armour, more ammo, explosives, pegasus vehicles, Merryweather, Lester, Lamar, and more experience...

Lame. My whole thing was grinding to save $ n RANK UP. No incentive to do this for them. Its better than the assualt rifle which they'd unlock first.

Come thinking of it,i have no problem with low level having the Special Carbine. The thing i dislike is the weapon's camo unlock.I prefer the kill for camo way instead of just having it all at start. It gives me less incentive to actually use the gun.

No. I had to earn my sh*t the hard way. I remember rolling with the regular SMG for the longest time, I was so proud I unlocked it. Loved the sound too.

Now they made they game pussy ass bitch friendly and level 1s can buy the strongest rifle in the game....

Fine. But if you have sufficient cover and can aim worth dick, then a pistol is just as deadly as any weapon short of explosives. Especially with the horrible auto-aim crutch, I was clearing deathmatches left and right with the on launch.

But R* needs people to play more and buy more cash cards, so piss.

For example, say you start a second character, so you've got the money to cover it and the skill to use it.

Totally agree with this - I've started a second character in recent weeks, and having the DLC weapons early on does make combat a very different kettle of fish in the lower ranks.

That said, everything from shooting stats, max health/ammo capacity for rank, etc. do make a huge difference - possibly more so than simply having a beefier gun from Day 1. Not to mention the learning curve of the weapons that you get from the rank unlocks - a total newbie in spray-and-praysville isn't automatically going to be more effective in combat by virtue of having a carbine instead of the basic pistol.

Especially now that Lester can help us steal jets. Its so unfair on those who have the skill and experience to do it without his help....

No... apart from many other reasons, the most obvious is it renders the SMG's useless.

yea i feel sorry for the noobs sometimes all they get is a pistol while we have every wep in the game...they should at-least start off with the first assault rifle or get it at lvl 5-10 with nades in there somewhere to

Edit: lets not forget the extra amount of hp you get when lvling up to

Having powerful weapons at a low level defeats the purpose of ranking up.

If you're going around killing people with a heavy pistol then you're doing something right. Powerful 'weapons', it's one gun, and half of them probably won't bother going to ammunation until they're a higher level anyway so they probably wouldn't know about it.
