See, this I don't understand. Forget about the fact that I think that V blows the ever-loving doors off of Snore, because this is the Whinge & Bitch thread, after all, and I don't want to debate here. So Snore's inferiority to V is not even close to being the point.

 

But you chose to plunk MORE MONEY down on a game about which you can say what I just quoted? I mean, its one thing to play a game you already own and have unfortunately opened in the hopes you will "grow to like it" like I did. But to reward developers with MORE MONEY for what you, at least, believe is "an inferior game" is just bending over and asking for an anal penetration without any lube.

 

While we're on the subject, did you also buy a sh*tload of Shark Cards to demonstrate your hatred of V? That'll show those criminals over at Rockstar! Hey, maybe you can try to buy GTA V posters to hang in your room too, to remind you of how much you HATE the game! How about a GTA mug and high-priced tee-shirt while we're on the subject? We all know Rockstar can use the money, right?

 

 

I find "hating" a video game is completely pointless really lol. Sure I criticise GTA V for things I feel it should be criticised for, but that doesn't mean I "hate" it. It's still inferior to GTA IV though.

 

I thought it was a better experience on current gen despite its shortcomings (like story and characters) than its last gen counterpart, but not enough to topple GTA IV for me.

 

And yes this is the "whine and complain" thread so I (or anyone else) can say what we like about it where we feel it lacks and falls short. For instance it falls short to GTA IV in just about every meaningful way.

I honestly do believe it falls short of IV in every meaningful way, too, SoL.

 

I mean graphics are important to me, but IVs are more than passable. Still, graphics and visual effects are the only major things that spring to mind for me. The customisation in V would be great, but there are just far too many issues. You can lose that car you spent 4 million on buying and customising, making you never want to bother. The characters are always changing what clothes they're wearing to their genereic get-ups, so what's the point? And the haircuts are woefully scarce in options. I give credit to the tattoos though.

 

Otherwise, I really can't think of much. Characters, story, nearly every single physics mechanic and shooting mechanic, the police are fun to me, rather than annoying. The npc interaction extends beyond V just because it's deeper. For example I cannot believe how awful the emergency services are in V, in their interaction with the rest of the world - when compared to IV.

Whilst this is annoying what really grinds my gears about the clothing options is how pompously restrictive it is. I mean Michael can't even buy a hat for god's sake. I dislike that you can't wear certain shoes with certain pants. Completely wasted opportunity IMO.

 

But onto what you were saying, yeah. It's frustrating buying clothes that you like only for the protagonists to change back into their defaults if you make a switch. I get that it makes them feel more "alive", but it's still annoying.

There's no roof and dashboard deformation in vehicles. Now there's no point crushing a car with the Rhino, because all you get is a car with squashed front and rear ends with perfectly normal and undented roof, dashboard and b-pillars.

 

Nobody asked for the first-person mode. It's horrible AF. Instead of creating a distinctive 'enhanced edition' with more side missions, vehicles, activities and updated physics, they create the 'not so enhanced version' with FPV and insignificant things like trees and animals.

Seriously, you bought the same game TWICE even though you have so many complaints? The game is exactly the same with marginal extra content. Even the biggest GTA V fans like me know that.

 

Rockstar is definitely feeling the strain of your scorn after you bought the game you obviously hate, not once, but TWICE.

I reckon most people who were initially disappointed by GTA V bought it again (on current gen atleast) with the hopes it might've improved their view on it. I was pretty disappointed by GTA V on PS3 so I gave it another chance and bought it on XB1 after not playing it for a few months.

 

I knew it was still going to have the same mediocre story with characters that I couldn't stand, but I was hopeful with a fresh set of eyes it might've been enough to overcome all of this and you know what? It did...atleast for a while. It was pretty cool to play the game in first person. I even sucked it up to play through the story again.

 

However it was still the same inferior game to GTA IV just with prettier graphics, more gimmicks and as such I haven't played through since.

So true. Why would anyone want to argue with people in here anyway? You know the fanboyism is off the charts when they go into the complain thread trying to start fights . Some folks just can't let go of the fact that someone doesn't like their favorite toy.

 

 

Actually, you should try paying attention. Nobody is arguing here about criticisms, genius. Most of the posts here from yesterday were MOVED here by a mod from another thread when the mod merged them with this one. And the other post I made was responding to a moderator and a longstanding member asking me a question which I answered.

Just because V was a letdown doesn't mean I absolutely hate it. I'm glad I bought it again for PS4, the graphics advancements alone definitely helped to alleviate some of the disappointment at least. Of course, I still waited for the remaster to drop in price and I had some spare coin at the end of the week.

I got news for you: I love V and I still waited for the PC version to drop in price before buying it again. I may be in the minority in this, but I still naively believe that "returning customers" buying a game for the second time should get more than a few extra-content perks. There should be a discount in buying the same game for a second time.

 

That said, I have a whinge & bitch to add:

 

While it isn't really more than a minor inconvenience, I find it personally very annoying when trying to ditch a wanted level and a cop and his little radar-flashlight-cone spawn literally right in my path. There should have been some kind of prevention for cheap spawning like that. At least if a cop is going to spawn right in the player's path, then it should be more than a block away so that the spawned cop doesn't have the potential to cause the gamer to be surrounded, with no path outside of the police cones.

That's something that San Andreas does better at. There's a greater degree of Wardrobe Freedom in that Game.

While I wouldn't quite go that far, because I still love the game, I think your complaint is perfectly valid. Rockstar really seems to be intentionally abandoning SP improvements, and is almost trying to "bully" people to go online. Though bullying is clearly the wrong word. If I had to guess, I would say that the bean counters at Rockstar who make content decisions are really trying to drag everyone who is resisting the Online portion kicking and screaming into that mode of the game. They seem to be almost holding the gamer hostage with the content and demanding you play online in order to have any meaningful updates.

You HATER!!!! How DARE YOU mention his holiness' name in vain?! His wise posts enlightened my path and they showed me a reason for my existance in this hateful world: To praise GTA V even through my entire life revolves around this DUTY!

 

You are the only one who denies facts, facts these that appoints GTA V as a true masterpiece of the history of videogames, it sold ++60 milions copies, so it isn't possible that a loud tiny minority at GTAForums, reddit and in the facebook page represents all that people. You don't see 60 milions people whinning about this gem, do you? So it's flawless! HATER! If you criticize V, then you have a bad taste because a 10/10 "must purchase 3 copies" game crafted by the own gods has no flaws! HATER!!!

 

As I said, the new fanbase is breeding at this moment. GTA Online is serving as a nice recruitment place for a new generation of GTA fans and soon enough the new generation of TRUE FANS will take over these forums and HATERS like you will be a shade of a forgotten past!
