I was talking about the restrictiv mission design not the glitch.

 

And btw. the Glitch was removed because it worked in Online.

 

So it worked in Online. So? It was a fun glitch, it let you explore a section of the game you couldn't normally visit. It didn't hurt anyone, didn't cause issues. There's no point in removing it, but they did anyway. Also, how would a fun harmless glitch like the NY glitch take priority over the more hostile, dangerous glitches that existed at the time?

Do you have proof? Because I have not heard, read, or experienced any sync problems when the glitch was in play.

Can we have a GTA debate thread that is seprate than this thread? It's really getting mired down by people who just want to argue. This thread is intended to be safe space for people's complaints about the game without being attacked by people who can't handle this game being criticized.

Yes. This is a safe haven for people who want to vent out their hatred to the game, but it doesn't mean that you're immune to arguments/debates.

It's already boring having all discussions of flaws of the game ghettoized into one thread, not to mention legitimate complaints getting lost in a sea of one poster spamming a thread with endless praise for the game who refuses to accept criticism of said game.

What I hate is I understand that they don't want people doing money glitches and stuff they want you to either buy shark cards or work for the money which is fair enough. but if they want that work on the other things too like god mode building glitches invisible glitches and the like. I am so sick and tired of them instantly patching money glitches but taking 6 months to a year to patch the other stuff.

I and everyone else seems to have almost forgotten that Rockstar always seem to be on "NO FUN ALLOWED PARTOL" 24/7.

 

You wanted to use a Glitch in SP affecting no one but yourself? That's not allowed and will be patched shortly by our Technician team.

You wanted to use a Gate glitch to swing your car into the air across town? Seems like a harmless and fun Glitch but we at Rockstar games Take the "No Fun allowed" rule very seriously, Don't worry through because the glitch will be patched shortly killing your Fun-o-meter.

 

We hate cheaters but we still put cheats in the game otherwise people would moan to use non-stop to us about the lack of cheats, that doesn't stop us from still taking shortcuts and being lazy sh*ts and making you typing every cheat combo in manually though.

I have to agree with this.

 

While the initial game was running HORRIBLY right after release and they should have been focusing more on fixing online, what did they do? lol They patched the game to remove the Hidden Packages from SP because people were using an exploit to gain a ton of extra cash in single player.

 

Then, people were having too much fun in the stock market, with Lester's Assassination and the stock tip in the western Hitch-Lift random activity, so what did they do? They nerfed the capital gains in these missions for the release of the game on the PC, PS4, and XBox One.

 

Yet this was all single player stuff. I get that they want to balance online and protect the in-game economy for both parity on the leaderboard AND to encourage ore Shark Card sales. But when they do things that needlessly impact the fun of Single Player it is a bizarre.

See the thing I don't get is they actually added phone cheats to the current gen versions (and probably PC too though I don't know for sure) yet there's no way to save them like GTA IV/EFLC so what's the point? It's just lazy and sloppy to me.

The PC Version has a Cheat Box that pops up when you press the Tilda Key (That's the one above the TAB Key).

You know what the problem with your position is?

 

It isn't that the complaints you refer to aren't valid, because they are. You and others complaining about the game are paying customers, so you should get your say.

 

But where you lose me is the unspoken sentiment of a post like yours, which basically says that once someone complains, everyone else has to shut up about it. You aren't saying this directly, and in fairness, I don't think you really mean it that way either. But unintentionally you are saying that negative posts or criticisms should be set on high and not discussed or debated. Many people who criticize this game seem to want their criticisms to be endowed with some magical, unassailable qualities and not be countered at all.

 

That sounds a lot like "fanboyism in reverse."

 

Look, I hate when fanboys attack anyone who criticizes a game. But I also hate when critics of said game attack anyone who presents counterarguments to their criticisms.

 

The bottom line is you are a paying customer. You bought the game. You have the right to express your opinion, both positive and negative. But when you post them in a public forum there is an implied contract of sorts, that your ideas and arguments now become open to public scrutiny.

Did R* ever announced something like that? Or are people just either too fond of V to admit that M and T's fates are still optional, while others hate it so much that they want to deny it's canonical existence?

There's also another possibility, which is where I fit in:

Honestly, aside from everything else, I stopped caring about "GTA canon" when IV came out and, with it, all cannon to do with Claude, Tommy, CJ, and every other GTA character (except for Lazlo) was summarily tossed out the window.

 

Don't get me wrong, I love GTA V. But since Rockstar flushed the rich world of the PS2 era GTA characters down the proverbial toilet, my love of the game is more "in the moment" now than it is investing myself emotionally into the characters the way I did with the previous gen of the GTA universe.

 

The way I see it is if Rockstar can so cavalierly abandon their own rich universe when the console generations change, why should I invest myself into said characters?

 

Better to just enjoy the games for what they are and accept the fact that the characters and the very universe we play in will likely be GONE and forgotten by their very creators when the next GTA launches.

 

This is all a long way of saying that I could personally not care any less about when Online is set, whether there are inherent contradictions between the three current characters or not, and whether Franklin, Trevor, and Michael will all simply "cease to exist" whenever GTA: Next launches.

Another thing I really don't like about V and it really frustrates me. The fact that you got all these realistic, detailed, and very busy highways that are a joy drive on. The view and scenery driving along the highways are simply stunning. What really angers me is that these many big roads lead more or less to nowhere - they just circle around mountains, rocky outcrops, and deserts, with only a very small handful of small towns. In SA when you hit the highway, you knew those roads led to different cities, a completely new micro- world away from the first city, and that really excited me. In V I just don't get that feeling, and what a big shame because driving along the highway was done brilliantly by Rockstar.

You know, I never noticed this before reading your post, but I think you're right.

 

I also think that this would be less pronounced if by some miracle, Rockstar decided to add DLC to the game and put in San Fierro, Las Venturras, and many of the other mountain types of areas that were present in San Andreas.

 

I think the problem you are alluding to is more pronounced because unlike San Andreas (which really had 6 major areas, if you count Bone County, Back-O-Beyond and Whetstone, and Red County) there are really only two different areas in V: Los Santos and the desert.

 

It doesn't really bother me, to be honest, but I do think you are right in what you're saying.

Hey I have a "whine" about V:

 

What the hell was Rockstar thinking when making part of the "Gold" requirements mission time that forces the player to not only fly through the missions, but skip the cut scenes?

 

lol I mean seriously! This game has so much of its focus on storytelling, and yet in almost all of the missions that have time as part of their gold components, if you actually watch the cut scenes you cannot get gold!

 

I am replaying all the missions now in the replay menu. I now have Gold in all the "Strangers & Freaks" and I am close to getting gold in all the main missions. I have 16 left. So I came across this in many of the missions where I am missing the Gold because I made the mistake of watching the stories.

Why didn't they give us the option to change the dynamic scores during the alerted wanted system? I'm tired of using the police cheats and clicking on a mission replay and then going back just to make the score randomly change. It became an annoying chore.
