I guess V is getting boring pretty soon because R* has simply stopped making single player in the same vein as GTA San Andreas, and prev titles, and also due to the aspect of garbage online being able to immerse the players with the same feeling close enough in multiplayer format, giving them an option of microtransactions which helps to boost revenue coming from digital sources.

Though their emphasis on online is definitely going to make the single player more shorter and unimpressive without making you very glued to the offline fun all the way through the way GTA San Andreas kept me busy for months, and still interesting to keep returning without getting bored.

V is a proof that SP was simply used as a bait for their Online ambitions.

Next release I am going to be extremely cautious in buying any GTA.

Luckily I always return to playing the 3D Era since there's a lot to do.

Also take in note. In the last updates we atleast got the weapons from the update. This one? We don't even get the weapons, so not only did we not get vehicles we also got no weapons.. A bigger f*ck you from rockstar

Considering The Ammu nation's rack is almost full, I'm starting to wonder how they would add more weapons?

Easy. Just stretch the thing once you started 'interacting' with the shop dealer. They did it before with Online (not sure about SP though, didn't checked back then and too lazy to fire up GTAV to see if the same thing is there) when the whole rack got filled. Don't think they can't do it again.

Average white guy

The worst part is that

1) Having to download massive f*cking updates that we get f*ck all from, that only serve as wasteing my f*cking hard drive space.

Yes! This latest update pissed me off because SP got absolutely nothing from it. Ridiculous, we should be given a "download or no" option. I am extremely tired of throwing away HD space to sh*t I can't use. Anymore and I'm deleting GTA V. Hate to, but I need my HD space for content I can f*cking access!

9GB of hd space wasted. The thing that gets me is you install the update then when the game loads you get a message saying "new vehicles available to purchase" and there are no new vehicles. R* is seriously trolling us.

One thing that annoyed me about GTA V was you couldn't cheat while on a mission. A few missions, I tried to use the wanted level cheat and got a "cheat denied". This is on SP. That was sort of a stupid move on Rockstar's part.

That's why V won the 'Maximum Restrictions poll.

I can't help but hear this in the voice of a 5 year old who just proved that his dad actually could take his friends dad in a fight

"I told you so, check me out."

Signatures are dumb anyway.

He's right though?

The restrictions on what you can and cannot do in this game are absolutely ridiculous... Hardly an open world sandbox at all.

Cheers!

gotta admit V is restricted as f*ck. like failing the NY mission just because Im a normal hunan being who was curious about this special area we only get to see for two missions.

Funny that you exactly quote this one mission in which you are not allowed to leave a specific set route, since the mission is mostly for plot reasons and NY isn't modeled properly.

Most of the other missions are rather open(especially Heist setups) and there is a distinct mix between full-scripted missions like the Human Labs Raid and some of the Heists, and the open missions like Trevors ones.

Especially since one can't cheat while on a mission.

Cheatz/Trickz

I never really consider leaving the mission bounds (such as NY) as a restriction, because you are straying from the objective, which usually means failure in all the GTA's once you're within range. Just that V greets you with an actual "Failed" screen, whereas before it would say you'd failed and let you carry on.

Really? I don't normally use cheats in GTA V, but I didn't know cheats were un-accessible during missions. Then again it doesn't surprise me. No wonder most people feel it's the most restrictive GTA to date.

Speaking of cheats I always hated how the wanted level can only be done one star at a time instead of being taken away all in one go like previous GTAs. I don't even see the logic in that quite frankly.

Yeah, what was R* thinking with the cheats and their restrictions?

I only use cheats in speedruns just so I could beat my previous record in them.

What I hate about cheats is how you gotta put them in.. Button mashing is long gone! Everythings phone now! And even the "phone" version of the cheats suck! in GTA IV the cheats saved inside the phone making them easyier to find and select. While in GTA 5 you gotta redial the damn thing over and over

There is a difference though.

The forced scripted "events" that are now seen quite often in HD era missions and an additional limiting factor to the list of mission failure conditions.

In earlier GTA's, the mission failure conditions were limited to either the death of any character or straying too far from the mission areas, but don't think there were too many forced "events" placed resulting in a failure.

Like Shamus young pointed out about IV missions' , "In case you haven't caught on, the car is a scripted event that will happen every time at the same point, making you fail the mission. It's a useless "gotcha" moment that requires foreknowledge or luck to avoid"

Definitely there is a difference in the conditions for passing HD era missions over ALL the rest of GTA's.

In the Sweet and Kendl mission you can deal with the Ballas' without any forced scripted event and BS and Ryder will wait for CJ to arrive at a checkpoint.

Wrong side of the Tracks is another good example of leaving Big Smoke at the station and CJ can still ride on the bike and go as far as the railway crossing and deal with the Vagos.

Such amounts of freedom are not seen in missions designed in IV and V and the player might be forced to ride with Big Smoke and play out the mission in default manner leaving no room for any creative or alternative approach with scripted events had this mission were to be designed in HD Era with a more cinematic flair.

I agree with you.

I think that there are certain missions that have some restrictions in them, and they kind of irk me for sandboc-philosophical reason. The problem I have with some people posting about restrictiveness is that they parlay these few-and-far-between parts of missions (not even entire missions, mind you) into a Straw Man argument that basically says that "GTA V is a restrictive game."

Would I prefer to have a wide-open field of play with little or no restrictions? Sure, but it isn't like GTA V is in any danger of approaching the same kind of linear play that makes me want to claw my own eyeballs out in some games.

Just a couple of things here and there. And yes, I do find them often disappointing, but in the grand scheme of things, acceptable.

The truth is that I was pretty disappointed when I kept failing Burying the Hatchet for leaving the GPS route to the cemetery where Brad is buried in Michael's grave. I would much rather they just created some artificial, invisible border like Volition did in the How the Saints Saved Christmas DLC for Saints Row IV.

I think there is a glitch that allows access back into North Yankton, but I never really tried it.

Again, though, while these kinds of scripted restrictions are disappointing, it isn't like they are some pervasive theme permeating the entire game.

Bury The Hatchet is still a bad example of the restrictions in V, it's only like St Marks in GTASA.

At least with SA you can use a few little exploits and tricks to get up there again. All methods for V were patched for anyone not on PC (Those on PC will know you can just a Trainer or something along those lines to make NY spawn again)

I wouldn't mind if there was only "One cheat" combo in the game and that cheat would bring up a menu with a list full of cheats and you can select there what cheat you want without having to press so many combinations to discover cheats, which n the end does ruin the effort or feeling of being one of the first people to discover cheat codes.

Why they went back to the old 3D Era cheat method I'll never know, It's just sh*tty.

I and everyone else seems to have almost forgotten that Rockstar always seem to be on "NO FUN ALLOWED PARTOL" 24/7.

You wanted to use a Glitch in SP affecting no one but yourself? That's not allowed and will be patched shortly by our Technician team.
You wanted to use a Gate glitch to swing your car into the air across town? Seems like a harmless and fun Glitch but we at Rockstar games Take the "No Fun allowed" rule very seriously, Don't worry through because the glitch will be patched shortly killing your Fun-o-meter.

We hate cheaters but we still put cheats in the game otherwise people would moan to use non-stop to us about the lack of cheats, that doesn't stop us from still taking shortcuts and being lazy sh*ts and making you typing every cheat combo in manually though.

Ah when will it ever end?

That gate glitch was part of big connection and disconnect issues in Online mode, it had a negative impact on the experience.

Which one are you talking about?

Overall Rockstar will leave fun glitches in the game as long as they do not compromise the experience for the "normal" player.

Or realize later on that they "fixed" something which shouldn't have been fixed in the first place and they will re-implement that feature(glitch) as for example double clutching(whatever that is).

for the last paragraph, I'm more talking about them patching glitches in SP that doesn't really effect anyone in anyway besides the person playing the campaign mode. I'm merely talking about Being able to access NY in SP.

Sure North Yankton wasn't intended to be accessed in the first place by normal means and it is R*'s game and they can patch it as they see fit but I don't get the idea of patching it in SP, It's not like your going to be able to invite your friends to it and see "Huh look where i'm at".

If it an't broke, don't fix it at all. Simple as that :)

Its not just "not fully detailed" its simply not finished, the collisions are not finished, etc.

and R* is not that kind of developer who would expose the consumer to non finished material, and that is good in my opinion at least.

The North Yankton Mission is simply all but a setpiece created for the Story Plot twists and its significant role in the Story, its not a free roam city per se, its just an interior.

Implying that R* removed the NY glitch because they don't want people finding unfinished places in their games?

I was talking about the restrictiv mission design not the glitch.

And btw. the Glitch was removed because it worked in Online.
