Hahaha, sure, besides the three original characters and Lamar, who'd you like to play as?

Anything but Lamar. Even Trevor if I had to.

 

Am I the only one who doesn't hate Trevor? I *actually* like all 3 protags. Yah, in4 someone calls me "stupid" for liking a character they hate....

 

Well, it's personal, i don't care about F, 'cause he's just too flat for a character, he's not "hood", but he isn't anything really. M and T on the other hand, i hate them both, M 'cause is a big fat piece of sh*t, and T is pushed too far, a little crazy would be OK, but he's too out there, and switching to him only to being chased by the cops, or in a dress in the middle of nowhere doesn't really help.

 

Lamar is a fool, but he seems to be always involved into action, o don't really think there is a good character on V

I wish the endings were determined by how you complete The Big Score. Either they end up on good terms after robbing the UD using the Obvious approach, and then "option C" pops up as a mandatory ending.

 

OR tensions between the trio grow high after using the Subtle approach. (As seen as how they all viciously argued with Lester at Michael's doorstep). After that Franklin loses faith in them and have to only choose between slaying M or T.

 

Because let's face it, Franklin suddenly wanting to ream the sh*t out of M and T without any provocation/friction in the Obvious approach was a weak move, especially after all the bromance they've showed at the Mckenzie Hangar.

The idea of the characters is nice. The characters themselves are nice.... kind of. Backstory however is nonexistent for all 3.

 

Micheal is 2 whiny 5 me.

Franklin, as much as I love him and would take him over that black (no pun intended) stick figure that is CJ any day all day, he NEEDS more story.

Trevor, as much as I love his missions (crashing a plane into another? Taking out a bunch of meth-headed bike-whoring assholes? Where do I sign in?!?!?), he's INSANE. Sometimes he's not even funny.

 

Lamar and Simeon on the other hand... I mean, Simeon is already dead in my SP book, but both of these "characters" are so f*cking annoying. Even more annoying than CJ, Johnny and Trevor combined.

^ The actual backstory for the characters is really interesting. R* had pretty good ideas for all three, but they gave us a game that takes place during the boring parts of their lives. Teenage Franklin would've been fun and young Michael and Trevor would've been more fun as well. Instead we get "Moral Dilemma Franklin", "WITPRO Depressed Michael", and "Junkie Cross-Dressing Trevor."

 

Maybe those sound interesting for an interview or something, but their early lives would make a much better game IMO.

My English is broken as LG Online and I can speak English better than him. Even "accent-wise" I'm better than Simeon. Maybe because I played too many American games? Dunno.

I really am appalled tbh at the way rockstar has been since the release of gta v, at first I had hope but they continue to spit in our face. The whole prioritization over sh*tty online. What really pisses me off is how it seems like thier just rubbing it in our face, first the hydra then lowriders both of which were in SA and helped make the game the amazing SP experience it was. They built their fanbase on SP and then they have the nerve to do sh*t like this which is just unnacceptable and quite frankly unforgivable as a consumer. I bought this goddamn game twice and I won't send these pricks another penny. once I get a decent pc and mod it so I can use these features that these assholes think we don't deserve to, same goes for gta vi, You don't deserve another goddamn penny from me, you have made it VERY clear how much you care about me as a consumer as well as half of your fanbase and we have recieved that message assholes, your sales will soon reflect that. I hope you choke on your shark cards. I'm sure I'm not the only one with a brain, eventually this is going to come back and bite rockstar in the ass when people finally realize gta online sucks and they have nobody to sell anything to because they deliberately burned their bridges with their core fanbase who pretty much gave them every benefit of the doubt. It's up to us as consumers to make an example of scumbag devs who let the money go to their head, if we keep buying into the bullsh*t it will never end. Maybe just MAYBE the ceo's at rockstar's hearts (and brains) will suddenly grow two sizes like the grinch before rockstar goes bankrupt from their greed and gta becomes a doomed franchise, but sadly I doubt that will happen.

Is this really necessary? Surely everyone has already read this kind of protest every where else on the Internet? I remember reading a similar thing about the creators of little big planet. But also everything in existence right now (just not fallout 4).

 

I'm not sure rockstar would read it, and considering rockstar is one single entity making decisions (it isn't). It would probably say 'well yes yes of course, we still have your money, your beautiful, beautiful money. Buy shark cards while i have sex with money, MMMMmmmmm money' which I'm sure is half the internets a idea of a business now. Evil rockstar games for displeasing you.

The game is overscripted and it lacks freedom during missions and during freeroam. We can do 19487x more things while freeroaming in SA and complete a mission in GTA IV at 1764x different ways than we can do in GTA V.

 

GTA V is a retrocess.

I don't see this "finish a mission whatever way u want" thing in IV though. Yeah sure, the mission doesn't Fail if you took your own roots, but its ALWAYS the same route. In SA yes, in IV I didn't see this "freedom".

 

And IMO I'll take Variety over Freedom any day, all day. Not one mission in SA bored me. Its impossible not to feel kinda dull while going through a game (I'm looking at you LasVentus. missions, yes you) but almost every IV mission bored me to death after going through the game a second time.

As far as the story goes, I would blame the writers for coming up with his narrative so disappointingly bad to make him interesting.

Am I the only one who actually likes Franklin?

 

I actually really like Franklin. I like his back story, his current story, his friends and freaks, and I really think that playing in Los Santos kind of necessitated a gangsta character from East LA/Compton the ghettos of Los Santos.

 

I also love the contrast between all three characters in terms of their personalities.

 

Don't get me wrong, there are a ton of things I don't like about GTA V (and a ton of things I do) but I enjoy Franklin.

Smart move on R*'s part rolling out this BIG money DLC just in time for Xmas , that way more kiddies will get sharkcards. It's sad what R* Games have become but f*ck it its 2015 there moving with the times. I'm sad to see one of my favourite childhood game franchises become a $mmo$ , please for the love of god don't do this to Red Dead.
