Funny how so many people are still saying everything about the game is perfect, giving it a 10/10, when there are so many people talking about the missions being completely unrewarding.

"Any Rewards/Unlocks for Completing anything?"

http://gtaforums.com/topic/603728-any-rewardsunlocks-for-completing-anything/

Just curious before I start finding the last 25 stunt jumps, UFO parts, letters, hunting challenges, etc.

Any rewards? haven't seen sh*t and have serious doubts.

I've done pretty much everything except the hunting challenges, you get nothing for the stunt jumps, nothing for the letter scraps (as far as I saw), nothing for the under the bridge/knife flight challenges, and for the spaceship parts you get a dune buggy with neon lights and crap on it with a funny sounding horn, for getting 100% you unlock a strangers & freaks mission which shows up a few days after 100% completion.

anywhere you look you can find people saying the same things... yet "It's a perfect game, you're just being a petulant child, why don't you just sell it back to gamestop for a fraction of what you paid" etc...

This kinda reminds me of tv shows where the network has gotten involved in the production and totally screwed things up for the viewers.

Nothing's pissed me off with this game, it's absolutely epic in the way it plays and responds, I'm only disappointed slightly by the lack of side missions they could have added could have added more depth to the whole game, especially at the end, I've done everything worth doing now and started to feel a little empty

I just can see yoga is a side mission over say trucking, landmark photography or ambulance missions, I'm thinking a lot more content might be unlocked for single player when multiplayer comes out...i.e casino!!!!!

Gnocchi Flip Flops

Restricted areas get on my nerves. I drove my Coquette to the Humane Society and didn't even know if I wasn't supposed to go in. The guy opened the gate for me but then said "Get the f*ck out" and I got a 4 star wanted level. :( Why were there no warnings along the way?

I shall complain about this thread not having enough complaints.

- Where's the record/watch replay feature? Or was that just another fan myth they conveniently failed to deny beforehand? Online only I guess...

- Why do cars automatically start flipping through the air like skateboard tricks? That combined with their bicycle negligence and the forced 'realism' everywhere else... it just seems intentionally bad.

- If other things are affected/blocked when you input any cheats, why does it still save the $5000 dollar hospital bills?

- if you crash or jump into water, you better hope there's a ladder, a low ledge, or a beach around, or you'll be tapping X to swim for 3 minutes. That's not fun, and in a lot of cases it'd be more realistic if the controls were as good as other games where you can just, you know, climb stuff.

- See a big fire escape and decide to see what's at the top... Nothing interesting, ledge too high to see or shoot anything over, no collectibles. Now you have to go all the way back down the staircase, because you'll die if you jump from too high. That's real fun...

"Why did R* lie to us?"

http://gtaforums.com/topic/603702-why-did-r-lie-to-us/

Let me start by saying, I was soo extraordinarily excited and... anticipation stricken, I pre-ordered the Collectors Edition and the Limited Edition strategy guide! I was at the midnight premier at GameStop, and I was up from 1 in the morning Tuesday to 7 in the morning Wednesday (over a thirty hour sit in!) and really got the best gaming experience I think was possible!

Finally! After a week and a day, I reached 100% (I could have done it sooner, but I spent a lot of time in the game messing around, and hanging out with friends... which REALLY gives you an insight into the characters!)

And while I absolutely LOVED the game and thought it was 100% phenomenal, I cant deny that R* lied to us...

Little details, and VERY important details as well were... WAY over-exaggerated, as well as blatantly lied about.

Minor missing details (Minor lies...)

Character customization-

You get... literally 3 haircuts and beards per. character (unless you go and stalk the barber on life invader.... Than you get 1 EXTRA PER. CHARACTER!

Character customization cont.-

There aren't a lot of clothes to buy... Youd expect that with players ranking up to $150,000,000 they would add some nice $100,000 -hell- even $10,000 suits! Nope. The most expensive set of clothing is just shy of $4,750.

Huge "Dynamic" map-

The map itself, is absolutely brilliant. I loved it! However, there's virtually only 5-7% of the map that can actually be used (stores, clubs, what not...)

actually, a lot of the map is just background! YOU CAN GO THERE! Maybe base jump off, but thats it! Even bars were just background... you cant actually go in.

A lot to do with your money-

You make TONS of money in-game, and unless you want to buy every piece of clothing, every tattoo, every gun, and every car in the game, there's not a lot to do with your money... at all. You can buy "properties" we were mis-lead to believe they would be houses... no they're commercial properties. Businesses! That take you from six months to over a decade in-game time to turn a profit!

which leads us to our next big segment...

Major missing details (Major lies...)

Safe houses-

in the trailer it SPECIFICALLY stated you can invest in real estate. (Also showed the Dynasty 8 website. which is not available in-game.) People got SOO excited for houses in SP! Threads talked about making Michael live in a trailer park and Trevor in a mansion! Nope. Cant to it. No properties for sale other than businesses.

Heists-

This wasn't exactly a lie... more so a waaaayyyyy over-exaggeration! The heists in the game were absolutely brilliant, (apart from the Merryweather heist which was tedious and boring only to end you with nothing at all.)

In total there were 6 heists. Two of them, you couldn't control at all, and only 2 of them were to make you money... The rest was for other people and paid little to none. (unless you had a sh*tty crew.)

Either way I loved the majority of the heists, however, R* made it out like they were the BREAKING POINT of the whole series of GTA! The most EPIC secret! The whole game revolved around the series of increasingly audacious heists! Truth be told... there weren't that many, and a lot of people in the community are pissed.

ALSO! R* confirmed that Heists will not ship with GTA Online. They will appear in a later update... (Seriously? WTF!)

So... That was my mini-rant/informative. All in all I give it a 10/10 for a game in general. Absolutely phenomenal. BUT my rating for what everyone was expecting going into the game... 6/10. They made it seem like it would be the god of all games. And it was! But not to THAT extent.

FOR ALL THOSE BEGINNERS just starting in that little bank in North Yankton, don't quit because you think its gonna suck, the game itself is phenomenal!, however, It was marketed on hopes, and blatant lies...

Tell me what you guys think? Did it live up to your standards, or were you let down?

"Things I hate about GTA5"

http://gtaforums.com/topic/602171-things-i-hate-about-gta5/

I also agree totally, so much missing or broken, this game is a bad joke. Im still going on the theory that it was rushed out. it totally feels like a beta test. I hope its fixed when they release the online version. I cant believe how many dumb little kids there are on here defending it so hard, they either dont know anything about GTA or they just like calling people names on the internet, lol! Either way compared to what people are used to from previous versions of the game, this one is a pretty piss poor excuse for a GTA release if you ask me. There are some very cool things in it that I do like but there is virtually zero playability after the story missions are over. Free roaming was the best part of previous games but its completely boring with nothing to do in this one.

My game is totally bugged or corrupt or something. I can steal cars all day long an no cops ever show up, if i stand next to a pedestrian they instantly call the cops or attack me. Cops are always ramming and shooting the car behind me. My stock prices never change. the only time the cops come after me is if i kill someone, but if i go to a police station and walk by one they instantly shoot me. None of these things behaved like this when i first started the game so I started a new game but they still happen, I might have to delete and reinstall to fix it, not sure what caused it but they all started happening slowly and got worse the longer i played and i didnt really notice something was wrong until i did a mission where i drove a car back to my house and the garage door wouldnt open and when i got out Jimmy appeared instantly in the drivers seat and drove 2 feet and then got out and was talking to me. I walked through the house into the garage from the inside and my cars were gone and the door still wouldnt open. i shut it down and restarted the console and game and reloaded the save and then everything worked right again for a few minutes and then the same things happened except for the door hasnt quit working yet, and jimmy hasnt spawned in my seat immediately after i get out, but everything else is wack, its pretty much unplayable at this point but i dread the reinstall because it seemed like it took forever, haha! So im just running around having shootouts with the cops seeing how long I last, usually its not long because they spawn too close too fast and come from all sides and just keep coming until there are too many to shoot and they get ya.

A weird thing that happened to me was at the beginning of the game when Michael first walks into his house.

His daughter is standing on the living room couch and his wife is standing on the kitchen counter with a bottle of booze in her hand.

I'm thinking, is this a glitch or is his family supposed to be really weird or what?

The driving is a joke. The physics are basically non existant. Stop in 10 feet from top speed basically in almost any car. Take a 90 degree turn at full throttle without slowing down in almost any car.

Weapon attachments were hyped and you can't even swap them at a logical location like say a safehouse. Instead you have to go to ammunation any time you want to change attachments.

It'd be even better if you can just do them on the fly during any time like in Crysis.

Um no propertys to buy or safe houses like the trailer showed. Guess that's for online. Thanks for that blatant lie, in the single player gameplay trailer.

Heists were a massive let down. Only the last one lived up to my expectations. Every heist should've been on 4 leaf clover level from GTA4. Following the set up>>>theft>>>shootout>>>getaway formula. Only one heist really did this and it was the last of the game.

1. Crap selection of cars, all new or straight from IV. nothing really older except for Pony, Stinger, Rumpo, and a few others... :(

2. Blista (GTA III), Idaho, Uranus, Stallion and Blista Compact (VC!!!!) NOT brought back... you really screwed up there, R*.

3 Horrible damage.. should be similar to IV.

I might, as long as the sequence is optional and I don't have to mash buttons while the controller vibrates uncomfortably.

The hooker 'experience' in gtaV was seriously the most homo-erotic thing I've been apart of since highschool...

How gross is it that the controller virbates when the guy moans... It's like they want you to feel like you're touching him...

They give you the 'option' to move the camera around (and not the option to exit) but you never 'see anything.' You get better angles of people having sex in your backseat on at least one side mission.

Everything about the old games that was fun to do is being made laborious and unfun, more about animation sequences than gameplay - I bought the game to play it, not watch it... And the things that are still fun will get the cops on you in five seconds, which stops the fun pretty quick.

Chases/shootouts would be sooo much better if the basic controls weren't f*cked

Wow man, I agree with a lot of what you say but the hooker thing is getting weird with you. I mean I haven't picked up a trick yet and won't go looking, it's more of a in the moment thing. Not looking for and critiquing thing.

These arent in order of importance btw:

1) Lack of crouch

2) Camera phone only uploads to R* social club, not saved to your console

3) Car/Bike/Boat physics & handling - all they had to do was refine TBOGT's but they seem to cocked that right up. It's not terrible, it just lacks any feeling/skill. The only good thing is the mini peel out when you nail it, everything else is pretty much crap.

4) Cant buy new safe house's

5) Drunk helicopter camera

6) The fact the Police can still ram you even if your doing about 175mph

7) The fact a tractor cant push a parked mini out of the way, see point 3

8) Killing someone in the middle of nowhere - still get wanted level!

Think thats about it, all quite minor but the whole driving thing has spoilt the game for me, it's to much like saints row, which also sucked.

I can't pick up objects, or gamble and what's the point of all the for sale signs if I cannot buy anything. 99% of buildings are shut too. Was hoping I could interact with the scenery, buildings and people. The previous gta on Xbox one gave us more! Vice and Andreas. Haven't found anything fun to do outside of the missions.

Theres a sh*tload to complain about. Apart from whats already been said earlier.....

Melee combat:

Is not the least bit interesting. You just hold down the dodge button and follow it up with a counter that looks the same everytime. Of course you can punch and kick but if you hold down dodge and counter, you dont need to. I actually preferred the melee in GTA 4 to this dumb sh*t. Even if it was clunky, atleast it took some skill and the counters were varied....the nut cracker kick, the back round house kick, the clinch and knees, the boxing combos, the kick punch combo, the elbow and backhand. NIko was badass. All you see in GTA5 is the same 1, 2 punch counter. Whats worse, all characters fight the same. I expected different strike animations, a few grapples, and all that. Is not free flowing at all as advertised. R* even said the melee fighting would be really strong and fun despite not being central to the game. So much for five years of development. Sleeping dogs was really good in this dept.

You cant push people. Pushing peds around was fun in GTA4. Push them off bridges, into water, into oncoming traffic, etc. I gotta say though that on the bright side, you can ragdoll-missile into people now. Its fun, but I still miss pushing.

Every ped fights to the death now....atleast as far as Ive seen. It was nice in GTA4 when peds would run away limping after they had enough.

Picking fights with peds was one of the most fun things I did in GTA4. Its boring now, like most of the other mechanics in the game. Also because I know i will win everytime now, but things were uncertain in GTA4,

+1

Youd see atlest one cop car or street patrol every minute or so in while roaming around in GTA 4. I barely see any cops GTA5. Cops in LS are too chilled out, except when youre wanted. I got a wanted level, escaped police LoS and hid behind a wall while a cop passed me on the other side of the wall. I was within the cop's blue cone on the radar but I though I was safe since I was out of visual range. Nope, the cop apparently had sonar vision goggles from splinter cell. He was onto me and I had to run away from a perfectly good hiding spot.

I like the cop evasion mechanics in theory but its poorly or atleast inconsistenttly implemented.

Does anyone else feel the disappointment I do I mean the story mode ye it's cool and all that but mine of the missions were even challenging they were pretty easy and I'm not a heavy gamer I just flew threw them too easy and short in my opinion then the buildings what the heck what a real dissapointment you can't enter the airport building hospital fire, police, what has gone on seriously i mean don't get me wrong the games cracking I enjoyed it but it's these simple things like driving a train that's gone :( even things like introducing may be a bud driver so passengers actually get in your bus just like a taxi driver why wernt these included :( make the game so much better and police are a little annoying I walked into a person they called the cops what the heck :/ anybody else feel dissapointed after this long wait :(

The only things I'm not 100% happy with is some of the obvious police issues.

A big disappointment for me is how easy the races are (triathlon, street, sea, off-road), the game takes rubber-banding to a new level. Basically unless you have several really lengthy crashes or take a few wrong turns or get disqualified then you are almost guaranteed to win without going anywhere near full speed. You can see on the map how slow they start moving when you crash, waiting for you to retain 1st place before speeding again.

Another very small complaint, and it is very small, is that despite the incredible detail throughout 99% of the game there are still some obvious things that don't make sense. Two that come to mind is the fact that the net on the tennis courts is like a BRICK WALL, I crashed into it, flew out of my car and died. Another is that pylon cables (also some trees) are visible but don't really exist, you can fly straight through them no problems which is odd as you can even fly into birds!

I really love GTA V and the game as a whole MORE than makes up for these small gripes I have, but having at least a difficulty level for some of the races would be a big improvement.

hey guys.

first of all im a gta fan since the first hour. but i have to say after all the hype and trailers and 60% finished story line im really dissapointed. i thought rockstar noticed the most feedback of the community and put all the positive things from the last games together. for sure the map is pretty big and detailed. but it has no reason to play it again after you finished the storyline. i mean good graphics and a big map does not guarantees fun. i really miss some more side activitys.i mean a casino to gamble or more night clubs. last at all more missions. and to be honest you can only spend your millions of cash for haircuts and pimping your rides. thats a lil bit too low in my opinion. its a good game no doubt but i think so more small changes made it more attractive for a longer time. thought it is an gangster game focused on heists. but i dont feeling that sh*t at all. it has not the atmosphere like vice city or san andreas.im not like iam in this whole story and can decide how its going down. its much to linear. and seriously if i have only noticed one time that rockstar said that the most stuff from the trailers is mp exclusive i would not have bought that game at all. sorry for the grammar im from germany.

No real complaints. Obviously R* have gone in a different direction with this one and why not. The franchise needed shaking up a bit. Nothing worse than keep dishing out the same game again and again with just a different storyline.

R* focus this time is obviously towards online play, and why not. That's where consoles have been heading for a long time. When you consider that online gaming on consoles really only took off properly with PS3 and Xbox 360, they've never really had an opportunity until now.

There are many games that have SP modes that alot of people probably don't play. COD is a perfect example. I completed the story line in Modern Warfare 1 & 2, but after those 2 I didn't even bother...just used to go straight to online mode.

You can tell from how short the SP story is in GTA V, that it wasn't R*'s main focus this time round.

You know what really grinds my gears?

- I've completed the story, now what? I dont want to search about 5hours for some stupid nuclear containerthingys, i dont want to search for broken plane/U.F.O pieces..

I want to rob another bank, i want to go into cluckin bell eating some chicken, i wanna go to the gym, i want more clothing stores(its still not enough), i want gang territorries back(getting back the groove street), I want to put police lights and sirene in my Intruder and press L3 to start the police missions. but no they did not put that in the game, I paid 70€ for the game (pre order got a atomic airship, totally worth it... not), GTA San Andreas had more things to do, yet its 9 years older than GTA V.

Rockstar got obsessed with the Hype around V, they completly forgot to make the Game enjoyable

If there is no SP patch coming with some huge changes (cusimization, emergency missions.. etc.) i would rate the game 4,5/10 boring as hell.

No, they've just gone in a different direction. Why keep churning out the same thing again and again with just different storylines and updated graphics ? In order to keep a game fresh you've got to mix things up a bit.

This time round they've decided to make the majority of features of the game available online instead. I'm happy to sacrifice a few clothes stores, casinos, etc in SP mode in order to have a much better online experience.

Instead of fighting rival AI gangs like in San Andreas, I'll be fighting real player gangs instead...can't wait !

If they'd created the same sort of depth in SP as they did in San Andreas for example, as well as the new Online mode, then we probably would've had to wait even longer for release.

You also have to consider the fact that they've been working on this game for 4yrs for PS3 and Xbox 360.

With the announcement of PS4 and Xbox One by Xmas they would have lost a hell of a lot of sales if they didn't release it now because I'm sure there'll be a lot of people selling their current consoles for the next-gen ones.

Maybe if they had more time they could have added extra things in SP. But on their current time scale they probably would have had to sacrifice Online elements to do that....which I'm glad they haven't.

The only thing I hate about this game is that they

squeezed so much into the last mission. Why couldn't they have throwin like five more missions? One for Steve, one for Stretch, one for Cheng, One for the UD, and one for a massive showdown with Devin and Merryweather where you could make a choice.

Bounty Missions made red dead for me- even after I had finished I could go around and have limitless amounts of bad guys to capture- not even kill but capture meaning I had an aim, that's my problem with GTA V there is simply nothing fun to do after you finish.

The story it's self was weak compared to GTA V and red dead, I enjoyed two of the heist missions the first and the last but the other's felt forced- I found the dock related one tedious.

The supporting characters were also very weak- I loved the Mcreary family in GTA IV but there is nothing close to that in V. I just didn't connect with them, I hated some characters in GTA IV for their characters but I still loved to hate them. I didn't have that in GTA V

Michaels Family were just terrible as well- I get they were trying to parody American families but I didn't even feel that worried when merryweather were about to kill them.

GTA V was a very good game- I just over hyped myself for it just like with LA Noire

SP desparately needs to get an update to fix the critical sandbox features like this which they de-scoped from the game on release. Being an immersive gamer, what gets me the most is the complete lack of interactivity with the environment. Like what's the deal with all those useless fruit stands littering the highway in Blaine county? Why can't you use these to buy food/replenish health if your health meter is low? Why can't you use them in a triathalon etc. etc. Are they going to update existing features like these in a later update?

Then there are the convenience stores aka the only store interiors in which you can commit sandbox crimes (i.e. robbing the store). You can buy 3 snacks at the convenience store--but only when hungry. You also can't buy and stockpile the food on your character for later (when it becomes most useful in a firefight). And then there is the non availability of interiors--even after completing a mission which opens such an interior, these continue to be completely off limits in SP.

These are immersion game killers R*
