Not even a single mention of FIB nonsense in the gameplay trailer, R* wtf? Not to mention we didn't realize just how literal the trailer was, like "greed and hypocrisy" and then show Simeon who lasts for only 3 missions? I thought there would be more to it than what was being said but now you realize the trailer lacks as much subtlety as the game itself.


Though the next gen trailer was fair, GTA V is gorgeous but no touching. It's more of a painting than a game.

Yeah. It had just occurred to me that if Rockstar was making big plans for Online--and they were--it would have occurred to them that having multiple PCs to choose from would be an attractive feature. The more I think about it, the more certain I am that that was the sole reason, after which they set to work figuring out how to weave a story around that decision.

Damn, I hate Grand Theft Auto V's graphics, but when it comes to this Gameplay Trailer, just look at 1:28 - it looks so beautiful, very similar to Grand Theft Auto IV.

Yeah, I guess it had lower saturation in that scene. Looked more captivating to me.

 

So, by graphics, I assume that you're talking about the art style, and not the visuals' quality, right? Lighting system, shadows, saturation, sky's color, shape of clouds, color filters (in GTA IV), and such?

 

Personally, I prefer GTA IV's art style. But then again, each fits its setting, timeline and tone of the respective game better than the other. I wish that R* added some color filters that would fit GTA V's tone instead of giving it a completely clean look, though, and maybe toned down the saturation just a little bit. It's good to have some artistic touches rather than trying to make it look as realistic as possible in my opinion. It also helps the graphics and overall art style age better.

Yes, in my opinion days look awful in Grand Theft Auto V, but nights are beautiful.


Especially when it comes to sunny days - damn, it looks so cartoony.

The game has alot of missions that just feel pointless like the scouting the port missions, who wants to do that sh*t in a GTA Game, another where you drive a big ass truck across the map, so many pointless and none rewarding missions that do nothing but make the  the short story less short

I think they put it in as a "Default station" option, but somebody screwed up the code and it never got fixed lol

Also, when it comes to that aspect.... I prefer that in Grand Theft Auto IV you can just turn off the radio by pressing 'x' on your keyboard.

It's used to test the "Music Volume" option, and in the older games was used as a way of showing the radio stations full logo, but they removed that in GTAV.

The last-gen version's timecyc actually made the day time look much-much better in my opinion. Talk all you want about thr visuals all around, but upscaled graphics =/= more appealing to the eye.

 

Speaking of the timecyc, I wish we got something closer to trailer 1. Jesus christ those sunsets looked beautiful.

Yeah, the new-gen/PC timecycle looks kinda too generic and lacks that "Rockstar flair" IMO. I prefer the vibe of the game with an old-gen timecycle mod.

I wonder why they changed the timecycle somewhat, the old gen timecycle was so pretty

I just wanted to say that crouching allows more freedom with character movement. Just because you find crouching useless doesn't mean everyone else does. That type of small-mindedness is why gaming is in the state it is now.

I mean, who even wanted crouching to be removed? I know that some people here don't care about crouching, but when and why did developers think: "Hey, let's remove this feature. Why? Well..."

I feel like having a stealth mechanic has more practical use though. Especially in GTA V where hiding behind random objects that you can't take cover behind eg trashcans really doesn't provide protection in a gunfight, so there's never a time where you're missing out on cover by not being able to crouch. 

 

Like I said before I think they should've just had it so that crouching = stealth instead of replacing it with a dumb "stealth" position so they could've had both and everyone would be happy. But being able to sneak up on people in whatever position is still more useful than being able to crouch alone, when it doesn't give you any protection or advantages that the game's cover system doesn't give.

Tfw you realize that you can slide across the car's front/back but not crouch.


And the stealth position looks like your character has constipation. Personally Batman Arkham series had the right idea, crouching makes you move stealthier and faster. So even if you don't care for stealth, you could at least take advantage of the faster movement.

-Aircraft turbulence is overdone
-Helicopter movement freedom is limited
-Slowing a plane down turning the engines off
-Car deformation is too toned down
-Can't push other vehicles
-Dying too easily from windshield ejections
-Dying too easily when falling off a bike
-Dying too easily from helicopter crashes
-Instant explosions from landing cars wrongly
-Body armor being nearly useless
-Body armor reduced by falling damage
-Pointless body armor strength levels
-Health regenerating but only halfway
-Can't evade attacks from hostile animals
-Stumbling too easily when climbing hills
-Dying too easily when falling down hills
-Euphoria engine being dumbed down
-Firearms feel too samey
-Recoil is minimal
-Weapon sound effects are weak
-Muzzle flash is too dim
-Hitmarkers can't be turned off
-Explosions are too small
-Explosions sound too weak
-No ear ringing from explosions
-Can't survive from explosions
-Car chain explosions are too instant
-Opening the weapon wheel forces time to slow
-Can't drop weapons from bloated weapon wheel
-Scrolling driveby weapons is a chore

-No zero wanted level cheat
-Invincibility cheat having a 5 minute timer
-Can't activate some cheats during missions
-Reused and unfitting car dashboards in first person view
-Only Online getting content updates
-Updates sometimes breaking singleplayer features
-When Take Two tried to kill singleplayer modding
-Rockstar lying about the singleplayer DLC
 

They messed the game up so badly.

I have been a bit open-minded about the city in the beginning but now I gotta say, Los Santos was a pretty bad choice if they weren't gonna include the other two cities. I mean if you really wanted a more colorful setting than LC then why didn't they just go for Vice City? It was just two islands, they could have easily made em the most beautiful detailed world with beaches and stuff. That would have been better as a single city map than what we have now. But as usual, it seems like while R* has put much effort, they have not put much thought into it......or any thought for some cases. Unless they were chasing SA fanboys' $$$ then I guess cooperate greed won again.

Also, Dan Houser stated that they wanted to recreate a proper Los Angeles... So... where's this proper Los Angeles, because... umm... Los Santos is just as bad as Los Santos in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, maybe worse...

Definitely worse. HD Los Santos might lean closer to Los Angeles but SA's LS atleast felt like a city and each of its area did stand out for me personally.

V's Los Santos feels......too samey but I guess that's where realism gets you and guess what:

I've said it in the past and I'll say it again, V's Los Santos feels like they started out on the rich side of town before rushing the rest, SA's felt like they started with the hoods first and gave no f*cks to the rich districts. BUT SA's got to cover more areas and somehow has more iconic buildings and areas despite being smaller.

Are you serious GTA V has the best missions in the franchise.

GTA IV missions were hella boring drive to a kill someone and go to b.

Stop being such a f*cking iv fanboy.

You cant tell me that 90 % of IV missions werent like this.

I loved that mission in IV. That's what happens in a life of crime. You kill other criminals and get paid for it. You don't fly around in helicopters shooting at a government building and killing government agents.
