There were many people moaning about how IV had overly dramatic Physics. Those people were actually kinda right. But R* didn't take this well IMO. they started a new engine but I'm sure they didn't work on it as much they should've based on IV's backlash. I like the RDR2 physics. A few more tweaks and it can actually be perfect and realistic.

IV's are indeed too exaggerated, nobody flops round that much from being shot. But they tweaked it in RDR and found a great balance with MP3, RDR2's physics are very similar to Max Payne's. I agree with a few tweaks they can find the right system.

I agree for the Euphoria. But didn't R* actually lose the Euphoria license for V?There was a license at the back of IV/RDR Boxes but it's non existent on V/RDR2. My guess is they had to start developing their own physics engine for V and didn't had the rights to use Euphoria despite the initial codes being in the game. The new engine seems to be perfected in RDR2 to be closer to Euphoria. But it's still not as good when it comes to Body Hit detection.

And as for interiors you can only Spawn ONE interior by glitches. All of them(which are actually 15 f*cking unique fully detailed interiors) isn't possible. Just look at GTA ONLINE. the new interiors in online even in next gen can't be entered without a 20 second loading screen and the game actually freezes sometimes while doing so.

Online and single player is a different story. There are many players in online so it takes too long to load them but in sp there is only you. There is a mod called open all interiors and it works without any problem. So if a mod can do it rockstar can also do it.

PC being able to open interiors can't be a reason for last gen consoles coding to be able to. Don't forget that mods tweak the coding of the game. A risk R* didn't take on last gen consoles and for the current gen consoles as well.

Actually, GTA V did have Euphoria licensing on the back cover, at least for the PS3 and 360 versions (seen here towards the bottom).

The PS4/XB1 versions still have NaturalMotion branding on the back (below the Dolby Digital logo). No sign of any of these on RDR2 however.

So do you think R* lost the license and are using their own thing now?

Not sure. This article seems to imply otherwise.

“We use Euphoria specifically to enhance the physics-based reactions of both humans and animals and have really evolved it on Red Dead Redemption 2,” Hooker explains. “For example, if a rider’s horse is shot then there are a range of realistic outcomes like rolling off the horse, being dragged in the stirrups, or even being trapped under a dead horse and fighting to get free.

No you made opinion like true facts.

Especially interiors, dont believe in everything that R* says...Especially on PC, when modders do miracles by few coding lines...

I don't believe anything anyone says unless I have a reason to. And all those that I said are my opinions. They aren't facts. Now get off my back buddy.

It must be the same company in charge of the Dynasty 8 website. 😛

Shaders and shadows are utterly bad in GTA V...it has so many bugs: flickering, low render distance, jagged edges even with high AA....sad. :(

Mmmmmm....are you talking about the original console release, the enhanced console release, or the PC release?

I can only speak for the PC version, and one will have to take my word for it that I have pretty high standards for these things, but the only thing you cite that was true for me was the poor AA.

Believe me, I am somewhat jaded about the way that the console-based paradigm is holding back innovation, but I was truly impressed with the visuals of GTA V on the PC. In particular what impressed me visually was the lack of repetition in geometry/assets, the high quality textures, the large variation in textures, the overall shading, and especially the amount of detail rendered into the distance.

I don't remember pop-in except when flying, and even then I would say it was far less noticeable than I have been used to in other games. I don't remember any flickering.

But the AA is horrid. The MSAA simply doesn't work properly and leaves a great number of edges untouched. This means the only way to lessen aliasing everywhere is to use some type of full-screen supersampling. It's hard for me to deal with aliasing, so I had to spend way too much time trying to find a suitable compromise that would keep me above 50 fps (I lowered my display to 50 hz to keep judder-free vsynced motion). It never looked good enough, but I got used to it.

My bad, I meant PC/Next-Gen console release. I've had issues, mostly with the shadows and lighting. Sometimes shadows disappear and then reappear even when you're just standing still, so it's pretty badly executed. Could it be a driver/graphics card issue? Just type "GTA V shadow" in youtube search and you'll find plenty of players reporting bugs related to it. If so many players have been experiencing this problem, it's probably the devs' fault. As for the last-gen version, I like it better (stone me). It has sh*t texture quality and filtering but it still looks great for some reason...

I've got a question btw: do characters (peds) have their own lighting? I mean, sometimes it just looks like that my own character is emitting light, lmao.

Hmmm...I've not heard of this. You're not talking about the LOD issue, in which you can see a "square" around your character where the shadow becomes lower-resolution?

As far as I know, the same issue exists in the One and 360, it's just much more difficult to notice due to the lower resolutions and framerates, as well as other aspects peculiar to consoles. One other thing is that on PC, when playing in first-person, the issue is very difficult to notice. In third-person, you are looking down from above and it's a lot easier to see.

Verify this for yourself, but I think that on PC this can actually be eliminated by altering a config file. Except for the beginning, I played in FP so it never bothered me.

Well, Poppy Mitchell is a star, so....

But seriously....uh....your character didn't happen to also be in free-fall above a major city and tripping balls by chance? I would actually be interested a screenshot or video of this!

The whole thing about Trevor showing up suddenly with a sniper in The Wrap Up makes absolutely no sense.

Just a few missions ago, we witnessed Trevor realize the truth after 9 years and almost kills Michael after witnessing his betrayal.

Yes, you could say that Trevor showed up because he was interested in the idea of robbing the Union Depository and needed Michael alive to commit this heist, but what makes no sense to me is that Trevor manages to show up exactly where Michael is and save him just when he's cornered by a Buzzard. Why'd Trevor wait for that long to make his entrance? And why does he not show up during the Bureau Raid, where Michael is in a far more hostile environment?

What's more weird is how quickly Trevor trusts Michael, even after his horrible betrayal, after the credits roll.

After playing so much of Red Dead Redemption 2 I have to wonder something what's the damn point of "hunting" in GTA V? Ok clearly it's because Cletus offers Trevor another an avenue of income to pursue, but the thing is the pay's so sh*t and it's not that long before you start rolling around in cash from heists it has a no point as a way of making money.

But from a gameplay perspective it sucks. For one thing you can only do it from ONE area on the whole map and it's not something you can just do whenever you feel like, like in both of the Red Dead games. I could understand if it was going to be some kind of competitive sport/recreational activity, but it's like they ripped the guts of the hunting in Red Dead Redemption and coughed this up.

-GTA V fighting style was not good and boring, it's really different with GTA IV, GTA IV fighting style was unique

-The story was not great, I don't like about heist, etc. I feel I didn't play GTA while playing GTA V

-Limited activity, the player can't play bowling, access train, etc like in GTA IV

-Boring map, GTA V map was very boring, there was only one large beach, while the other beaches were small and unattractive,

-There are a lot of unattractive things in GTA V, "the uniqueness" of the GTA series seems to be lost
