A simple way to improve GTA races

In general GTA races can be unpopular because of the frustration caused by everyone having automatic weapons and explosives straight away.

 

In Deathmatch the creator/host is given the option to limit the weapons the player can use in the settings to: [Forced/Forced+Pickup/Owned]. I would love for a similar setting to appear when a GTA race is selected like the Team Race option is.

The option could toggle between, Owned (what is already used), and Pickup where the players can only use weapons they pickup on the course including boosts, rockets and health, as well as any guns or grenades the creator has placed in the world.

 

This would allow race creators to tailor the GTA version of their race and give players what they want them to have rather than C4s and UZIs. It would also allow players to play the classic GTA 4 race version where players started with no weapons and had to pick them up, creators might then place guns and grenades on the map rather than seeing them as pointless as they are now.

 

With this simple change it would give me and community more flexibility when creating new content. I would personally create more GTA specific races if this was an option and would perhaps make a race on foot, requiring players to vault and climb over obstacles to succeed.

 

I made a triathlon that has the players cycles to Sandy Shores then swim across the Alamo sea and then run that last leg of the race, it is very fun with friends but other people tend to abuse the fact that they are armed to the teeth with weapons.
