It's ridiculous how many people go through this game without using a mic. Especially during certain modes like Capture or any mission that requires 2+ people. A wise man once told me, "go out and get a $10 bluetooth you bum" Communication can be a great thing...I wish more people would mic up. Granted whenever my friends are on I'll just play with them and the problem is solved (but that can't always be the case) Anyway..is this common for most people?

Most people use mics in party chats these days. It's probably because of the horrible kinect mics and the kids.

I'm waiting for the PC release, because my headset doesn't have a long enough cord to reach my TV from the couch. It has an inbuilt mic in it, so yeah..

I have A40's but a lot of the time I use my speakers. I only use my mic when playing with crew.

 

I wouldn't encourage everyone to buy sh*tty bluetooth headsets. I'm fed up hearing some crap gangsta rap in the background and the dudes 12 children screaming.

I use the XBox Kinect and keep my volumes low, but last night was booted by a persnickety host who didn't like my "echo" and was whining that it hurt his ears. Good grief.

I do not have a mic but using a mic in Gta Online is going to turn you into a target,especially those that play their unclear and crappy music into the mic.

Go out and find friends to talk to if you're looking for a social life.. I played much more difficult games on my Sega master system without needing a microphone to reach the end. Also, not everybody have the mentality to use a microphone you moron

The kinect mic goes from bad to intolerable with headphones on. That's probably the issue.

It's ridiculous the nonsense that people shout over the mic, from racial slurs to death threats to just singing and shouting without stop to be annoying. I go from using one to not, but invariably after a few hours of use I always, always, remember why I hate using one.

I kick 99/100 people using mics from my hosted games/mission. 99% are just plain annoying and attention seeking. Wanna talk to people, go outside and talk to someone.

I play with a mic, but rarely use it except to call someone out if they're trying to kill me, or inform them I'm friendly if I want their attention. Works great. And being able to mute other players in the start menu makes it very easy to eliminate the undesirables.

 

It's not rocket science.

 

And using a mic has gotten me into much more fun situations, cruising with randoms, and assorted shenanigans. Otherwise, I find playing online by myself to be quite freakin' boring after about 10-15 minutes...

My point was that muting the obnoxious noise-makers is incredibly, undeniably easy, and takes literally 10 seconds or less.

 

As for the honks, I've been honked at, I honk back, I get shot. I prefer words, personally. Less ambiguity. But whatever.

 

I recommend the PX22. Works for any console and PC. Good 'bang for the buck' for sure.

I mic up during missions and in freemode. Often I listen in to find randoms doing something fun, and join them, or give them air cover.

 

Kinect users are often unaware its broadcasting their conversations with their mom, or when they talk on the phone... so it can be amusing.

 

I just mute people who make me want to claw my ears off, and drive on.

Can even put music inline with the headset (I use my phone with Pandora One) that plays through the headset but not over the mic.

How the hell u know the op don't got friends smh. And I feel just like the op I run a crew on PS and one of the requirements is to have a mic. I don't have no damn time to steady checking my phone and getting shot because u are texting for help. I can tell u garbage. I've never had a problem muting players. Typically it's the first thing I do when I join a server.

Kinect mics are far worst than any child with a mic. Far worst. I used to make high pitch noises in the mic when playing with my Turtlebeach-wearing friends in Forza 3 back in the day. They would tell me to shut up and stop and I would laugh and laugh...oh, how stupid I was. I f*cking hate high pitch noises now seeing I got Turtlebeaches myself. Whenever I get put in a lobby with people talking, I'll usually stay and see what they're talking about.

While I was typing this, I got in a lobby and there was this guy blaring through the mic this TV report about a tranny teacher. I have NO clue if this is true but I LOOOOOL'D.
