So when did you guys/gals started playing GTA?

I started playing GTA in 1999/2000 when they released GTA London for the Playstation. I was 7/8 years old then, my bigger brother learned how to play the game. First i thought the people in the game were birds, (who played the game will understand why lol). Played the game for many years and loved it.

I owned every but then really every GTA game.

I was so excited when GTA III came out, it was the first TPS Gta. Bought it for PC and loved it.

So i play GTA now for 14 years and still enjoy it.

Around 2002 or 2003 with GTA 3. I would have been around 7 or 8 at the time, and my grandma would hide it for me and let me play it on the computer when my mom wasn't home. I remember it getting maybe 15 fps at the most.

Also, I would go to my cousins' house and play GTA Vice City with them. Fun times.

I think it was GTA III at my friend's house soon after it came out. I didn't really get into the series until my cousins, my brother, and I would all play Vice City for hours on end. I remember we'd go on gamewinners.com and print out cheat sheets. My cousin's memory card was broken and so everytime we wanted to play the game, we'd have to listen to the "I poke my head out of the gutter for one freaking second, and fate shovels sh*t in my face." line from Ken over and over, it's become an in-joke to us.

Got the original GTA just days after it was released in '97/98 when I was 12. Been hooked on the series ever since. I've played every GTA except for GTA Advance (and GTA V...)

Fall of 2004. Right around the time San Andreas was released. My friend who lived down the hall had a PS2 with GTA 3 and Vice City and used to bring it down to my house and we would play for hours. I was hooked within the first 10 seconds of playing GTA 3 and wandering around Staunton jacking random cars. We used to do that for 5 or 6 hours a day. Vice City was also good but we didn't play that as much as 3. And then he got SA around Christmas time. That was one of the greatest and most memorable moments in my life.

GTA 2 back on ye olden Game Boy Color in '99. Funnily enough, I actually hated the game and ended up throwing it away the same day I bought it because I hated the top down view, and I didn't appreciate the value of things then. I really got into the series sometime between 2001 - 2002 with GTA III. Whenever it was too hot outside, my friends and I would all converge in one person's garage and either pass the controller upon death, or hook up a N64 and play splitscreen Goldeneye.

I started playing back in 2007. Too late to begin though. Before that, I wasn't much into video games.

GTA III, December 2002, I was 30. Loved it right away.

Finally a game for people of my age made by people of my same age.*

I was a Driver fan so GTA was the natural evolution.

*Btw this doesn't mean younger people could not enjoy it.

I just feel very much in tune with Housers' creativity cause they're from my generation.

I played a little bit of the first GTA but really started playing when I was 12 and got myself involved with, you guessed it, GTA3. :^:

1999 as well, I was 9 years old and we got GTA 2. Didn't play it much at first, because you know, 1999 was a good f*cking year for games. Ended up loving it too.

Summer of 2002 at a friends house. I was like 5 and the only other games I had really played were Crash Bandicoot 2&3. I remember thinking how absolutely amazing it was that you could walk anywhere you wanted and take any car, just the freedom of it really caught my attention. Later down the line I convinced my mom to buy me Vice City and then San Andreas by promising I would never kill anyone and just drive around lol :p

The Odyssey

2003. Watching my brother play Vice City on a miniature television plugged into the Xbox. He eventually gave me a go, and I was mesmerized. It was my earliest memory of GTA, and perhaps even my entire life.

Mister Pink

I started in 1997/8. Think it was a demo or something or my older brother had it. I was around 12. I remember our dad not liking us playing it because it was too violent ,ha.

Didn't start playing it seriously or trying to finish the story until around 2003 when I completed Vice City and GTA III. San Andreas was the first GTA (and videogame) in which I knew the release date and actually anticipated the release.

Joined in 2004 to ask something about San Andreas, possibly some cheats or how to so stuff. Then I realised that without the forum, there was so many things I'd never know by myself. Hooked.

Still GTA mad.

Started with GTA 1 when I was 11 or 12. Loved the superbikes that could barely be controlled.

2008-2009, in fifth grade I got GTA: San Andreas for PS2. That was my favorite game at the time, and I really miss playing it.

Hmmm nice bike

Around 1997/98. Way too young at the time, obviously, but I remember my cousin letting me mess around GTA 1 on his PC, and then my brother got it on the PlayStation. I played GTA III in 2001, but I only played it once, and I never got around to frequently playing until 2004, when I got Vice City on the Xbox.

Started in 98 with the first one, but it wasn't until GTA2 that I started getting into the series. And then GTAIII took everything to a whole new level.

In 1997 with the pc demo of the first GTA, you had a time limit to play.
