I've never really done a full post here about concept stations but considering I put the final touches on this I thought I'd post it here. One thing that stuck out to me with Grand Theft Auto V and then mainly in Grand Theft Auto Online was the serious lack of a proper modern day R&B station which made me want to put together this playlist. The idea was to merge The Vibe 98.8 from GTA IV with KJLH that broadcast in Los Angeles with a focus on Alternative R&B, Neo Soul and Funk. I've stuck to old Rockstar's rules (even though they don't seem to matter anymore) of having it roughly be one CD's worth of music which helped keep the curation pretty tight and since this is focused on being a Grand Theft Auto Online station I've kept the track selection between 2013-2021 to set it apart from content that could've appeared in Grand Theft Auto V. So, introducing...

Well, since that post I've added a lot to the playlist, and I recently made a GTA-style radio mix, just for the fun of it. Might get striked by YouTube for a couple tracks but don't care. Complete new tracklist is in the video description. YouTube Playlist have been updated too. Bloody thing is like +4 hours long, might have been carried away but there are just so many good tracks out there I couldn't stop myself!

I know,it would be anachronistic, but,it would fit the Vietnam war-era,so I still included it

Pictures of Matchstick Men works better i feel. It's an emblematic vietnam war era psychedelic tune that's much more period accurate.

In the army now is more like 80s AOR which absolutely does not fit in with the rest of the station

It's sad yeah. They're a really solid industrial rock band, all things considered.

It's FLASH FM, bringing you the pop hits of today! even though music nowadays come out more frequent and nobody is original anymore. The music you hear now might be irrelevant within the next few minutes here on FLASH FM. (Dance Pop, Alternative Dance, Pop Rock, Indie Pop)

Note: The reason I'm using Spotify instead of typing a playlist for each radio station, is that Spotify makes it easier to auto-update incase some some songs get removed or added rather than constantly editing and updating the post.

Nice soundtrack choices. Though, I think "Ocean Drive" by Duke Dumont is a must for a modern Vice City setting. It would probably fit either on Malibu Club Radio or Flash FM.

Phantom Planet - California (2001)

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Scar Tissue (1999)

Weezer - Island In The Sun (2001)

Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun (1994)

Hole - Celebrity Skin (1998)

The Dandy Warhols - Bohemian Like You (2000)

The Offspring - The Kids Aren't Alright (1998)

Sum 41 - Fat Lip (2001)

Foo Fighters - My Hero (1997)

Dinosaur Jr. - Feel The Pain (1994)

Blink-182 - Anthem Part Two (2001)

The Cranberries - Dreams (1993)

So I guess that would be my take – sort of – on what could've been PMR. I decided to stick to the 90s and thus picked songs from 1993 to 2001 (pre-1993 tracks would probably go to an alternate Radio X playlist later). I kinda hesitated including a few pop-punk tracks from bands like Green Day, Blink-182 or Sum 41 but I think it mixes up pretty good with the rest in end.

Assuming that the full name of this station is Pre-Millenium Radio, it would make no sense to include songs from the years 2000 and 2001.

Well some of Rockstar's orignal cut songs for that radio were actually from 2000 and 2001 iirc. And it's just a radio name, what's important here is to pick tracks from the same genre and roughly the same period (preferably the 90s). I made this radio so I can listen to it while playing also GTA III, that's why I picked 2001 as a limit. It's contemporary alt rock if you want. Also grunge and pop punk was still a bit popular in the early 2000s before the arrival/replacement of other soon-to-be-popular subgenres in the mid-2000s (indie rock, post-punk revival, etc.), so that's also why I chose to include these.
