Create your own radio station for GTA

Recommended Posts

For my upcoming GTAO Liberty City concept thread. It's mainly the LC equivalent of Non-Stop Pop FM, since I can't imagine GTA without a pop station now.

Pop Central 106.1

Pop

The songs you love, even if you say you don't.

(2014)

(2013)

Charli XCX - Boom Clap (2014)

Clean Bandit feat. Jess Glynne - Rather Be (2013)

(1983)

(2000)

(2014)

(2012)

(2003)

(2013)

(2005)

(2005)

Hozier - Take Me to Church (2013)

(2013)

(2013)

(2012)

(2014)

(2010)

(2011)

(1983)

(1986)

Sam Smith - Stay With Me (2014)

Soft Cell - Tainted Love (1982)

(1994)

It's a pop station, so I know that by nature it's going to be very polarizing. Still, I'd like some feedback on how good it is as a pop station, and the song selection for it.

I like your idea with "My Immortal" and "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em' Up)". GTAs' pop radio stations need more songs like those. However, I think "Animal" should be on indie rock radio station. You should also move 80's songs to Vice City FM or another radio station like VCFM.

Special Members

(Classic Rock/Hard Rock/Heavy Metal/Blues Rock)

Can I get a response to this? Is it good? Does it suck donkey balls? What songs would be good to add? What songs whould not be there?

By the look of Dave Lee Roth I'll bet he's deep throated a few donkeys in his time.

Seriously man, hell of a job. You've literally chosen the best songs on offer by a lot of these guys: 'Man on a Silver Mountain', 'Catch Your Train', 'Atomic Punk', 'Love Gun', 'Rock Bottom'. Who can argue with Dirty Deeds? Plus you've got Thin Lizzy in there so you get a thumbs up by default.

Billy Squier sounds out of place. A little too much 80s clap-your-hands concert rock for this station, ya know?

You should also replace 'Her Strut' and 'Mississippi Queen', the first was in GTAIV and the latter got added to V. Credit where credit's due though, you came up with it before the game was released. You've already got Leslie West on the station, so why not add some Nazareth in place of Mountain?

:^:

What do you guys think?

Sounds a lot like my childhood. Make of that what you will, for something you threw together on a whim it does a good job of capturing the sound of a decade.

Bittersweet Symphony -- someone needs to recreate the video of that in GTA.

[The Vibe 98.8]

Neo-Soul, R&B, Soul

DJ: Vaughn Harper

You've captured The Vibe well here, just like you did with Liberty Rock Radio. The balance between classic and contemporary R&B/Soul is spot on.

I've got to mention 'Never Never Gonna Give You Up' -- that has to be the best opening 45 seconds of any song ever. :D Teddy Pendergrass song is perfect too.

Including Ray Parker/Raydio is odd. It would work on Space 103.2 but not the Vibe. It would be better replaced by some

or similar.

San Eduardo Rock Radio (San Diego):

  • Blue Oyster Cult - (Don't Fear) The Reaper (1976)

Cracking song choices. :^:

As close to K-DST I've seen. I'd love to drive through San Diego with this in my ears. Get a twisted kick out of mowing down peds too.

I think

would be amazing on your station and for the setting. Don't Fear The Reaper works just as well, mind you.

Sorry for not editing the quote, but doing that on my phone f*cks everything up.

Thank you for your feedback. I have decided to update it with your advices. I also changed the The Who song.

I was making a folk rock station, but couldn't come up with enough songs, so i decided to combine the most country-sounding ones with a different, country station. So all together, it's a folk rock/country rock/country pop station. Can you tell me if it works like this, or are the some songs too different of a genre? If so, i'll recreate this station as a country only station. Click here to listen to the full playlist on Grooveshark, otherwise click the links below.

I know some of these songs have already been on previous GTA games, but the thread I'm making is NOT related to GTA. It's just an open-world game.

My style! :)

Can you tell me if it works like this, or are the some songs too different of a genre?

Works just fine on my ears. I found myself paying more attention to the consistent theme of the station than any issues with genres.

You get double points for Everybody's Talkin. I felt like Joe Buck on the bus to New York City with the radio to his ear.

That's pretty good, but how can you have a dubstep station without Nero?
Nero is not my favorite dubstep group, by the way what do you think of my indie radio station?

It seems good, though I don't recognize to many names there.

that's the idea, being an underground radio with unknown indie bands

Homemade Dynamite

I made this as sort of the 'spiritual successor' to Radio Broker. Sort of what NSP is to Pop, this station is to Alternative Rock as it encompasses many Alternative Rock songs of different decades. Is it good?

Nice Playlist!

But, 5/4 or M1A1 from Gorillaz would fit better than Clint Eastwood,IMO.
