Thanks! Just one more thing I'd like to ask, could you make a Russian playlist for Vladivostok FM? For obvious reasons I believe you'd be able to make a better playlist than I would.

200px-VladivostokFM.png

DJ: Ruslana

Genre: Eastern european music

"Post communist music to the eastern bloc"

Playlist:

  • Nautilus Pompilius - Скованные одной цепью (Chained)
  • Alisa - Ветер перемен (Wind of change)
  • Dolphin - Снеговик (Snowman)
  • t.A.T.u - Человечки (People)
  • Kino - Место для шага вперёд (Space for a step forward)
  • Pelageya - Валенки (Felt boots)
  • Zemfira - Мальчик (Boy)
  • Lerika - Сенсация (Sensation)
  • Glukoza - Карина (Karina)
  • Ruslana - Роби гучніше! (Do louder!)
Thanks!

I think this is pretty good. Also, it doesn't have to be entirely east coast rappers. The Beat in GTA IV and it's episodes had plenty of rappers from different regions, and GTA V's RLS had plenty of non-west coast rappers.

This was made due to the growing rise of 'alternative' pop, or indie pop. I initially envisioned this as being hosted by Lorde, hence it got its name from her debut album. However, I thought it would be interesting to give her a male co-host, which would make for some good little bits between the music, so I figured Nate Ruess would be a great choice since he's one of most well-known males in the indie pop scene. What do you guys think?

no offence but this playlist is so mainstream, it's quite fake indie (Lana Del Rey, M83, Fun, Foster The People, Lorde, they're very overrated), should put more underground bands, more authentic indie bands, not Top 40 bands.

But this is indie pop. There are tons of crossover indie pop artists that make it big on the radio while still staying true to their roots.

But this is indie pop. There are tons of crossover indie pop artists that make it big on the radio while still staying true to their roots.

My point of view of indie and subgenres, it's about underground-authentic artists and bands, which their songs are not in the Top 40.

But doesn't the 'pop' in indie pop go against the idea of not being high in the charts? And as indie as a genre goes, it's not really defined by how well known the artist is - that isn't the point of a genre of music. If the music fits the genre of indie, it doesn't really matter how popular the artist is.

Still, I think it'd be fitting to throw 'alternative rock' in the genre description to cover all bases, as I couldn't call all the artists indie pop.

Indie Pop is defined as pop-centric music made by the artists themselves with complete creative control, possibly on an independent label. When big labels are used, it's only for distribution.

Here's to give you an idea

Indie Pop: Lorde, Lana Del Rey, Fun., Foster the People, Lykke Li, Banks, A Great Big World etc.

Not Indie Pop: Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, Maroon 5, One Direction, Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, Rihanna etc.

This is what I have so far. As mentioned before, I'm making this for a hypothetical spin-off taking place in a fully realized San Fierro. I made this with a preference towards rappers from Northern California, which wasn't easy to do since most modern rappers from that area are completely underground. The ones not from that area are from LA, while the ones not from CA at all had songs that fit the feel I'm going for perfectly. What do you guys think?

I'd like to make an underground hip-hop station, fitting of real-life Bay Area's underground hip-hop culture. Here's a list of songs I have so far:

(2000)

(2013)

Fort Minor - Believe Me (2005)

Gorillaz - Clint Eastwood (2001)

Stereo MC's - Connected (1992)

  2. Rappin' 4-Tay - I'll Be Around (1994)
  3. Souls Of Mischief - Step To My Girl (2003)

@NightSpectre i've been looking all the San Francisco radio stations, seems it's so multicultural and variable music as well

but to reduce it, i made a list:

  • Bayside 101.7 (Modern hip hop)
  • Underground hip hop
  • Adult Contemporary
  • Rhythmic Urban Oldies
  • Indie Alternative (i'll make this one)
  • Pop hits
  • Classical
  • Classic hits (maybe from 60's/70's/80's/90's)
  • Mexican music
  • Asian (i could mix chinese, japanese, korean, vietnamese)
  • Christian music

and more genres that were not featured on the list of radio stations of San Francisco:

  • Metal
  • Punk
  • R&B/Soul
  • Country
  • Electronic (a lot of subgenres as: IDM, House, Dubstep, etc...)

Anarchy FM: Your Music, Your Way.

This will use either local music on you HDD or you can link your Spotify Premium membership to your R*SC account and put songs into the "Anarchy FM" playlist, which it will then play at random, along with game specific commercials.

Also, am I the only one who hopes the next GTA will have a "radio autotune" option, where you can set a station in which the character will automatically change to that station each time they get into a car?

I'd also like to see the return of SF-UR. It would be still broadcast house music (modern stuff mixed with some 80's/early 90's classics) or, if you're hardly focused on defining modern pop-culture, EDM and Trap music.

i start my own Vice City concept thread, here's the list of the radio stations have my GTA, not focused in 80's, it happens on the future, in bold means radio stations from VC comes back, in italic means new radio stations introducing made by me and underline means that are not yet finished and without name:

  • Pixel Radio 104.8 (8-bit/Chiptune)

That's a good playlist. Sadly, "Stairway to Heaven" can't happen. Jimmy Page doesn't let people license Led Zeppelin songs for movies and games, apparently believing they're "too good" for them or something. Yeah, god forbid his music gets discovered by a new generation.

Are you sure J-Pop, K-Pop, Russian music, French music, and emo would fit in the Vice City setting?

Miami actually has a massive Russian population, especially around the Miami Beach area, and the Sunny Isles Beach neighbourhood is known locally as Little Moscow. For that reason I don't think a Russian station would be too far-fetched.
