Create your own radio station for GTA

Recommended Posts

abZlYCB.png?1

Ever wanted to create a custom radio station for a GTA game? Well now you can! This is a thread made for people who have an idea about an specific, entirely new, radio station.

RULES (These are important, so please read before you post.):

  • Don't be a dick, this is important when asking for feedback and opinions.
  • Stay on topic. If you're going to discuss artists and their entire discography, etc, take it to the Music section.
  • Constructive feedback is encouraged, so don't post "hurr durr you have certain artists from that one station I did" because that will not help at all.
  • Avoid using songs previously featured in past GTA games, this is to keep the radio stations as realistic as possible. Using songs from other non-GTA games is allowed.
  • In case of not following these rules, a warning will be given. If this happens constantly a ban from the topic will be given.
  • Maximum of 45 songs, this is to keep up with the current song limit in GTA V's enhanced version.

FORMAT (optional):

[station logo (if you have one)]
[station name]
[slogan (if necessary)]
[Genre]
[Radio type (either continuous mix or regular radio)]
[DJ]
[songs]
(1999)

If there's anything that should be pointed out, let me know on the topic or PM. Thanks, and have fun!

Special thanks to @unbid for helping with the rules!

I like your taste a lot, good work putting them playlists together, all the songs work very well.

but for me personally i would have "walk this way" and "Tricky" by RUN-DMC in Old Skool Hip Hop over their other 2. and "Push it" by Salt N Pepa.

it just aint the 80's if you dont have A-ha and Duran Duran in there somewhere.

ill say this here until i see a better place.

A big reason why Vice City is the best GTA imo (or what make it great) is because it has the best Radio - it is great, and not just the songs, it also funny as hell.
Also, every GTA should be set in the past - be it 70's, 80's, 90's, or early 00's (no later) so that there is that nastolgia, so that it can be parodied much better, so that good songs can be picked.

GTA 4 & 5 dont have any vibe (e.g. VC had the 80's, SA had the 90's) and they dont have any good songs, (just a handfull of ok ones), they have no good comedy, and what it has is too split up between radio, tv, clubs etc....

in short, good radio is very, very, important to GTA (much more important than all those extra things like tv etc... because radio goes hand in hand with driving/flying vehicles) and 4 & 5 dont have good radio.

Been kind of working on some of this on-and-off for a GTA mod I think about making sometimes but will probably never be able to make. Like the guy above me, I don't have a clever name picked out or anything but this one is based around 70s/early 80s disco music. I tried to go for more energetic stuff, music that makes you hyped to do a mission and drive for a while. :p (I find Boogie Wonderland is especially effective. >w>)

Bee Gees - Night Fever
Carl Carlton - She's A Bad Mama Jama

Chic - Dance, Dance, Dance

Chic - Everybody Dance

Donna Summer - Love Is In Control

Earth, Wind & Fire - Boogie Wonderland

Heat Wave - Grooveline

KC & The Sunshine Band - That's The Way I Like It
