Pump shotgun better than Assault shotgun?

It baffles me why anyone wouldn't go with the auto shotgun, it's not a matter of skill, it's about which shotgun is more efficient.

Auto shotty isn't more efficient my friend. It has a hire rate of fire...and that's pretty much it. Outside of 50 meters you may as well throw the damn thing at your target...you'd have a better chance hitting them with it then the bullets do. Pump shotty has higher damage, longer range AND better accuracy. I'll take stopping power and accuracy over ROF anyday. Now I'm not saying the auto shotty is a noob gun, but let's call a spade a spade. The vast majority of people prefer it because they can just spam fire it and get an easy kill. Takes no skill at all to use, even if you are or consider yourself a skilled player. Pump shotty requires you to be more judicious with your shots, which means you're not wasting ammo OR exposing yourself in cover, and it's far more rewarding to drop someone with a skilled OHK then to just Leroy Jenkins them to death with auto spraying.

 

To quote a term I heard used by a Navy Seal at gun expo in Florida "Slow is efficient. Efficient is accurate. Accurate is fast." If you can get the terminology, you'll get why the pump is the superior shotgun bar none.

My 2 Cents:

 

Shotguns by their definition are supposed to give the operator a distinct advantage in close range engagements. It's a CQC, one hit kill Shock & Awe weapon. You're not supposed to get up when hit with a shotgun shell within 50 meters, whether it's Buckshot, Flechette, Slugs, Frag rounds...hell even rock salt. So for the life of me I can't understand why there are so many people...in so many games...who bitch about being killed with a shotty. I myself prefer the pump version...as I'm pretty nasty with it accuracy wise. I usually aim upper torso, which is instant death for whoever is in from of me. It's my go-to tool when in CQC situations, and if you have a problem with it, tough sh*t. It's in the game for a reason, and when properly used in it's proper application it's nearly unstoppable. Yes, other guns have higher ROF, but while the other guy is sprayin' & prayin' with an Auto shotty, I'm lining his ass up then layin' his ass down with my pump.

 

The Pump shotty is modeled after the 870MSC Shotgun,. BLAHBLABHAABAA

. My personal preference is the pump over auto shotties...in any game. Usually they pack a stronger punch and have better accuracy and range. If you wanna spam your auto shotty fire at me, feel free to. Just don't go sending me hate messages after you watch your avatar slump over awkwardly when I figurative blow it's head off.

 

EDIT: I predominately play Free-Aim. So Auto Shotgun spammers end up looking especially foolish shooting everything but me. It'll take them sometimes a clip and a half to kill me. All it takes me is one shot at upper chest level.

1.- have you played against +100? you wont kill me with one shot of that thing unless you hit me in the head.

2.- Its in the game because R* wanted you to get better guns as you lvl up, so they screwed the balance.

3.- Nearly unstoppable? HOW, you fail a shot and youre dead...

4.- This is a game, not real life.... in real life an AA-12 would still be better anyway (have you shot one? it even has less recoil than a pump-action one, unless were talking about one for competition, but now those are usually semi-auto)

5.- Except that it isnt, it only has more range. it might be true for other games, but not for GTA:O

1.- Youre describing an OP N00b tube, or in which other game shotguns have 50m range?

2.- Again the pump shotgun only has better range, check the stats.

3.- But the auto-shotty IS A N00B GUN!!!

4.- Exactly, it takes almost no skill to use; thus its a n00b gun...

5.- That last statement is a lie, you just need trigger discipline, any gun can be shot slow, IT NEEDS to be shot slow. If youre inaccurate with an automatic gun, then use burst or single shots.... You can do this with the Auto-shotgun....

 

 

In a perfect world (or in a balanced game) youd be right, but thats not the case for GTA:O, blame R* for that.

Pump is good if they don't know you're there. But seriously most of the time you can see someones weapon poking out from the wall so most people start blasting before you've popped out. Its better to be blasting first.

 

Also even if you do get the first shot out and it doesn't kill em, you're fukd

Why the f*ck would you be using a shottie to try and shoot someone that far away? Unless you're locked to the shotgun in a Deathmatch, you switch to an assault rifle if they're 50 meters or further away.

I hate when people say only noobs used assault shotguns. When I'm fighting a guy in close quarters, I want to use the best possible weapon to get the job done. I'm not going to think about how cheap using an assault shotgun is when I'm fighting. If it gets the job done I use it. And I love the sound of a silenced assault shotgun

If you know someone is behind a corner with a shotgun or any other gun, fire an rpg at the ground right next to them. Normally I place a sticky around the corner and run further back so they come to that corner, and then you can blow them up without you even needing to fire anything at them. Like everything weapon, there is a way to counter it.

I love the assault shotgun, one of my favorite weapons, though not always useful. But nothing beats it when you have people speeding toward u trying to run u over. Its a video game, don't give a crap about skill. That gun is powerful and effective, nuff said.

Also OP; i did tests with the Pump Shotgun and the Auto-Shotgun and the later was better in almost every stat (not in range).... TBH I WOULD LOVE THAT YOU WERE RIGHT, and the best gun was the Pump Shotgun and not that sh*tty n00b tube, but it is not the case

No game should have best weapon. There is a thing called "balance" but GTA online has none from what I've seen.

If I killed you 20 straight times then have to resort to Assault shotgun to get one kill in then you are bad. Plain and simple.
