Crazyeighties
Eating disorders can cover a broad spectrum from not eating enough to eating too much to making yourself throw up. I admittedly have issues not eating enough (I just don't have an appetite so I don't eat much) I was wondering does anyone else battle eating disorders? trip
Yes I do. I've only recently started to overcome it.  I was bulimic when I was younger thanks to wrestling. Aside from the throwing up part I also trained myself to not eat. I don't like to see people eat, and I don't like people seeing me eat.  Well...I stopped the bulimia part after I stopped wrestling, but it has only been in the past few years that I've accepted eating. I've actually gained 20 lbs over the past two years. Very happy about that. Mr Oraange
More of a personal preference than an eating disorder, I rarely eat at houses outside of my own. Edited April 10, 2014 by Mr Oraange
THE GHETTO JEZUS
Well for me I don't like others to see me eat as well as it just feels really weird. Like when I go out to public places to eat I would get nausea and just really sick. Even having a snack bar would make me feel sick to the point that I would puke or even a drink. That's why I would usually eat at home and starve my self through out the day because of that. But now I'm kinda getting better with taking some medications but I still do feel sick when I eat out . Also I absolutely hate eating breakfast. Like how can you guys eat something in the morning without feeling sick and wanting to throw up ? Â But yea to sum it up, I hate eating outside my home and feel really uncomfortable when I do and I absolutely hate eating breakfast. xVampire Fangx and AlexT
Crazyeighties
I guess I will go ahead and explain why I don't really eat back in 08 I got really sick and ended up in the hospital I spent close to 4.5 months in the hospital I went from November 08 to about December 12 with out really eating I was on TPN (total perental nutrition) (IV nutrition) I ended up with infection after infection it almost killed me so that had to stop I lost clots to 50 pounds in 3 months mind you I only weighed about 146 before all of this happened I only weigh 125 now but it's still bit enough I struggle every day because of it. Being so skinny I'm always freezing cold. It could be 100 out and I'm in a sweater and jeans....hopefully one of these days I will actually be able to gain a little weight. Â Even before this I could eat and eat and never gain weight Edited April 10, 2014 by Crazyeighties

Tyla
Also I absolutely hate eating breakfast. Like how can you guys eat something in the morning without feeling sick and wanting to throw up ? This is me in a nutshell. I have an overwhelming urge to vomit before I leave for college in the mornings. It's like a tick in the back of my mind that I need to silence. So I completely avoid food the day before. What the hell is going on? Â Not going well thus far. I'm up to 4 days a week and the weight is dropping off. It's triggered my psychosis a few times. I'll binge on food at the weekend in anticipation of the week ahead but I won't actually touch a thing during the week.
t3h PeNgU1N oF d00m
I can eat as much of the most unhealthiest garbage as I want and not gain a single pound. It's cool, but it sucks considering that gives me no motivation to start eating healthy, even though I need to. xVampire Fangx
Krul
@Trip - Wrestling is the devils sport. I wrestled for years but got fatter and fatter somehow. That's not to say that some of my close friends that wrestled didn't starve themselves day in and day out to make weight. One friend was skinny to begin with, so to wrestle competitively he moved from like, 145 to 110ish (estimates). I'd see him eat a Mountain Dew Ice cube for lunch and sometimes a slice of cheese. It's messed up. Â Question for those struggling to eat: Have any of you tried alternative medicine to help suppress the Nausea and stimulate your appetites? There was a point in my life where I couldn't eat until about 6-8 hours into my day because I woke up with knots in my stomach and no desire to eat. Waking up and medicating helped me to get past that, and it was easier to wean myself off the wake and bake than it was to force myself to eat. Krul
Marinol is a synthetic chemical and I don't trust pills for anything. I meant tinctures or good ol fashion flowers. Edited April 10, 2014 by Krul

universetwisters
I'm not sure if you can call it a disorder, but I used to eat about two or three meals a day. Now I eat only one meal a day and I don't feel any bad stuff from it.
Raavi
Eating a lot but not gaining a lot, if at all, is not due to some kind eating disorder. Unless there is an underlying medical issue, it's mostly due to poor choice of diet (and fast metabolism). Whilst you might think consume a lot, you don't eat enough "good" healthy and calorie-rich food, which is a necessity if you are ever planning on gaining visible weight. xVampire Fangx 1 – overeducated wonk who fetishises compromise
Krul
Different things work for different people. Please don't think I'm belittling you or anyone else with eating issues. I've struggled with my weight at different points in my life and have a friend who had bulimia when she was in high school. I'm just a alternative medicines advocate, as I've found it more effective than anything else I've taken for any reason. xVampire Fangx
THE GHETTO JEZUS
IDK, but I'm really surprised to see many members that have the same disorder or w.e it is as me. Like eating a lot of food and not gaining a single pound, like I would eat a sh*t ton of fast food everyday and would always be that skinny kid. But I hate it when most people won't believe that and just assume that I eat nothing at all just because I'm skinny af, maybe it's because I have high metabolism but who knows, maybe it's something totally different. xVampire Fangx

universetwisters
I remember when I was on the swim team, there was this one guy who was literally as thin as a bone. I guess being skinny is good for the backstroke, since that was his event and he was good at it. I wouldn't know, though, seeing as I was always made to swim freestyle & breast stroke at competitions since I'm a wide guy. Â Not fat, just wide. gtamann123
My eating disorder is that im always hungry because of my damn metabolism. My wardrobe is really suffering at the moment. Shirts are the worst. Try carrying an 18 neck collar shirt with a 31 inch waist. It's like wearing a potato sack. It only serves to add fuel to the fire when it comes to my problems with food, it's like I can feel people looking at me and thinking sh*t son, eat something. Â I can relate to those of you with low weights. I remember when I first started weight training and I really had to force myself to eat. I'm talking 4,000 calories a day, a lot of that through the horrible "gainer" shakes you can knock up with choccy milk, peanut butter and olive oil. Looking back I can't remember actually having that many issues with food during that time. It's only when I've returned to a normal schedule of eating that it's really started to f*ck with me. universetwisters

Cutting weight is unnecessary. I wrestled from the age of 6 until i was 18 and never cut a single pound. If you are cutting weight you are relying too much on size and strength to get by and not skill (it quite ironic because cutting makes you weaker thus less competitive in your newer weight class) Its pretty much the individuals choice to do it so don;t blame the sport for it. Maybe in high school you can do it because it can be managed better. But why the hell would a 12 year old be cutting weight in the first place?  I usually just wear baggy T-shirts and football jerseys, seeing as they help hide how wide you are, like this Redskins jersey I've got on. I don't know the specific size because I'm too lazy to take it off and look at the tag, but I have a lot of T-shirts, button-down-the-front shirts, etc. that're roughly about the size of this, all in extra large.   Come think of it, my arms are pretty wide. xVampire Fangx

You know how every little town and city has their own weird hang ups and obsessions. I'm a first generation US born Ukrainian. Not only did every boy in my family have to be strong like bull, but we grew up here in the MidAtlantic where wrestling is pretty big. It wasn't a case of one person cutting weight to better their chances...Everyone cut weight - you pretty much had to just to keep polarity. gtamann123
Hmm yeah I guess PA is a completely different monster with the level of competition there so in order to even have a chance you may have to cut a little. I grew up in a state thats pretty competitive too but not to the level of PA. So I guess my experience with it is just different. Because in MN it would easier to have a shot without cutting. But yeah let not derail the topic.

THE GHETTO JEZUS
^ Yea it really sucks that you can't really do anything about that. Like my doctor says that " oh you just have some acid reflex or something like that " and I'm pretty sure I don't. I always thought maybe I just have some anxiety issue when eating outside but I doubt it could be that. Sigh hopefully soon someone will discover something that'll prevent that stuff from happening/ xVampire Fangx
