I think this just boils down to two camps arguing about Cashcards being bad and Cashcards being fine, "they're optional after all!".

The argument about them being optional is true, but don't pretend it doesn't effect those who don't choose to buy them

Your right it does effect them, stuff the updates with new cars, clothes and weapons are free rather then costing 5 to 10 dollars per item. If not for cash cards we wouldn't be getting all this content for free. To the rest of your whining rant.

Yeah, you're pretty gullible if you believe that. There's been nothing particularly cost-worthy as DLC yet and we'll still be charged for big updates.

I'd post a witty meme GIF as well but I can't be bothered to waste the energy looking for one.

Good, I hope this means that all content like everything we've gotten is free except that it costs GTA dollars because I'm fine with working for it in-game.

Proof?

Here's the bottom line. Cash cards was R*'s long term revenue plan for GTAO all along. Did you really expect it to be any different from any other Online MP game that has microtransactions? How many times must it be said that the concept is the same as say WoW or LoL, except that instead of paying for the items (which people who bitch about anyway), you're paying for the means to pay for the items. The inflation of prices in the game isn't R*'s fault, it's the community's. Everyone has to now adjust to the idiocy of all the exploiters and hackers who ruined the game economy because they were too impatient for anything.

But whatever, this will fall unto deaf ears like any and all sensible explanations do. But hey, the OP apparently has got a buttload of games on the cheap, supposedly as much as a single cash card!

Here's to hoping that he'll go play those games now, and hence leave GTAForums and stop bitching about them...one can only hope.

So what if they're still making money from the game? That's what companies do, make money, or go out of business.

No one's forcing anyone to buy cash cards. You arseclowns need to get over this whining like spoilt brats about cash cards. If someone wants to spend real money to get in-game money, why do you care? Cash cards don't even give a player a real advantage, and it's not like cash is hard to come by. In the meantime, you whinging pukes keep playing the game for free.

Sick of you girls getting on the blub because someone else is spending their money how they want without it affecting you.

It affects people because the costs and rewards are out of whack to help promote cash card sales. Everything is expensive and rewards are poor (compared to previous GTA games).

The price inflation was set from the start, before any hacks had even come about, it has since been nerfed even more - i.e. non-repeatable missions, but only the ones with reasonable rewards.
