i took out my buffalo the other day since i haven't drove it in quite awhile, come to find out it doesn't handle as well as it used to, as a matter of fact, it doesn't handle very good at all. did R* mess with the handling? if so, what other cars got the handling messed with?

I believe they did. The jester understeers way more than when I first got it. I can't attest to it but I've heard the elegy doesn't drive like its on rails either, still OP as hell but slightly less OP lmao

Wait? The Buffalo? Just wiped off the dust and realized how good I am at driving it. No difference in performance at all.

If you have ever driven the Comet, you know that they f*cked up the handling on that car since the game was released.

I've noticed my Buffalo MK2 has worse braking. That's just about it. My other cars are fine.

Don't even get me going, they should've kept the driving physics the way it was in IV.

This all the way. Driving physics in this game are on par with Saints row. And everyone used to hate Saints Row for childish physics. And now the YOLOSWAGGERS like GTA feeling like Saints row.

My Jester felt fine on Monday, felt very good in fact. The Elegy has always understeered and been prone to slide when pushed too far. I've slid mine quite a bit recently but I put that down to the fact that I've been driving the Jester a lot more and lost some of the Elegy groove.

It's nothing like Saints Row.

Can't you actually turn on a dime at ~100mph in Saints Row? I still think this game deserves a little more credit than that.

There was no change in vehicle handling. The only difference I found in the handling file was that they added some lines related to the flying handling.

you can see the full changelog in all the handling files he has created here

Jester has massively understeered since 1.11, no changes with this update.

You, sir, are incorrect. It is sublime. You simply need to realize that the go pedal isn't just an on/off switch.

Once you know when to brake, when to handbrake, and how much go to apply at any given moment, its not only fun as hell but a monster on the streets.

Changes depend by files :

They added this to handling.dat for air vehicles :

; AIR DYNAMICS;	SideSlip	-	Side rudder force multiplier;	FormLift	-	Base lift factor that’s independent from wing’s attack angle;	AttackLift	-	Lift factor of the wing’s attack angle while rising;	AttackDive	-	Lift factor of the wing’s attack angle while diving;	WindMult	-	Wind influence factor; TURBULENCE;	TurbulenceMagMax - Maximum turbulence magnitude of Sin-wave motion simulation;	TurbulenceForceMulti	- Turbulence vertical force multiplier;	TurbulenceRollMulti - Turbulence y-axis torque multiplier;	TurbulencePitchMulti	- Turbulence x-axis torque multiplier; CONTROL NOISE;	BodyDamageEffectMult - Control noise factor contributed from plane damage ;	SensitivityForDifficulty	- Control noise factor contributed from pilot driving skills;

And for vehicles.patch changes to cuban800 , mammatus , velum :

FLAG_NO_BOOT FLAG_DRIVER_NO_DRIVE_BY FLAG_DONT_SPAWN_IN_CARGEN FLAG_HEADLIGHTS_USE_ACTUAL_BONE_POS FLAG_DONT_SPAWN_AS_AMBIENT FLAG_BLOCK_FROM_ATTRACTOR_SCENARIO FLAG_DONT_TIMESLICE_WHEELS FLAG_USE_RESTRICTED_DRIVEBY_HEIGHT

FLAG_NO_BOOT FLAG_HAS_LIVERY FLAG_DRIVER_NO_DRIVE_BY FLAG_DONT_SPAWN_IN_CARGEN FLAG_DONT_SPAWN_AS_AMBIENT FLAG_BLOCK_FROM_ATTRACTOR_SCENARIO FLAG_DONT_TIMESLICE_WHEELS FLAG_USE_RESTRICTED_DRIVEBY_HEIGHT

FLAG_NO_BOOT FLAG_HAS_LIVERY FLAG_DRIVER_NO_DRIVE_BY FLAG_DONT_SPAWN_AS_AMBIENT FLAG_BLOCK_FROM_ATTRACTOR_SCENARIO FLAG_HEADLIGHTS_ON_LANDINGGEAR FLAG_DONT_TIMESLICE_WHEELS FLAG_USE_RESTRICTED_DRIVEBY_HEIGHT

Result = Changes to air vehicles only .

I remember when this game first came out, before any patches, the driving was ridiculously arcade like. I was under the assumption I would have IV's handling, and I knew from the first mission with Franklin and Lamar, the driving was going to suck. It has gotten somewhat better, but nothing to where it should be as far as the handling is concerned. I've gotten used to the driving, but I would welcome IV's handling back with open arms.

if i remember correctly, didn't every vehicle in IV have understeer?

If you guys only knew how much you are explaining that you don't understand vehicle dynamics when you try to complain about this game's physics. Especially when you think IV had better physics. Super comical. The Comet handles like a real life Porsche, and it's known to drivers to be an absolute handful when it comes to extracting the full potential. There is a Porsche known as the "Widow Maker" due to the fact that when the driver runs out of talent, the car kills them.

If any of you want to put away your ego and improve your skills, check out my thread or my reply in the driving tips thread.

Edit: More difficult handling (like constant, omnipresent understeer) doesn't = more realistic. It's not even the most difficult handicap that could have been put on the cars.

Jester oversteer?? there is nothing wrong with the handling, people just drive all the cars in the same way, you cant drive a rapid gt like a feltzer...or a comet (you need more "foot" work)
