Being Labelled A Bad Sport, Unfairly

Has this happened to anyone else? I'm really f**king pissed off with this. I was playing a race, around 6am this morning, finished 4th and went back to bed. I wont lie, in the past i have quit races on the odd occasion (not too many though), either because of glitches or it's been filled with players who've pissed me off thinking it's fun to just ram into each other. I know everything was fine this morning because I was wearing my trusty cowboy hat during the lobby screen. I go to play GTA Online some 5 hours later to find I'm wearing a dunces cap and being branded a bad sport with a 2 day time limit. WTF. I have always been a clean player. In the 3 months I have been playing GTA Online I've received exactly $106 000 for being a good sport. I have destroyed exactly 4 personal vehicles and that was unintentional as i was firing at players who were trying to kill me or run me down.

 

I've contacted Rockstar 4 times through their support (support, now that's a joke that aint funny), who very kindly sent me the same 4 automated responses, obviously not bothering to even check my game account (FeudalLobster2). Stated in the usual crap is the statement that you can become a bad sport if you've been "reported manually or voted out by other players from the in-game pause menu". I quite like the online play of GTA V, well the races anyway but I think this is the final nail in the coffin for me. I wouldn't mind being labelled a bad sport if I was, it would be my own fault but this "bad sport" nonsense needs to be sorted out and removed from the game. Just 2 quick questions before I end.

 

1. Does anyone else receive the message "you previously left a job early, etc..." when you start a new online session, even though you never? I get this message quite often every time I start a new online game.

 

2. Will quitting the voting screen instead of voting for free-mode count as quitting early.

If you quit early for any reason, youll get that message. even for the "unknown network error" i mean sh*tty cloud servers

The problem is there seems to be no cooldown for the bad sport timer. 2 days ago my bad sport timer randomly ended even though it said I had a month left. So first thing I did was blow up some random guys PV because I want to be back in bad sport. I instantly got 2 months and 4 days of bad sport even though I only blew up 1 PV (technically 2 but the guy with a bounty doesn't count) so there isn't really much of a cool down.

 

Contacting Rockstar support wont help you. Rockstar support is proven to be the most useless thing in the universe so just wait out the 2 days and enjoy the joys of bad sport.

If I do get reported a lot I'd love to know why? I keep to myself, mostly, unless someone starts on me. I hardly ever play free roam. I just race or mess around with the content creator. I just don't understand how I could go from clean player to bad sport in just a few hours.

You've sent 4 tickets to Rockstar Support within a tiomespan of less than 12 hours and are moaning about not getting a reply. Really? Do you honestly think Rockstar are sitting waiting for you to submitt a ticket? Do you have any idea how many supprt tickets they receive on a daily basis, many of which are for stuff that is not particularly important to the smooth running and development of the game?

 

It's only 2 days, hardly anything compared to many other sentances. Serve your time and behave yourself or glitch out of bad sport, if you really can't wait a whole 2 days. It sucks but it's not really worth stressing about.

even more now that any crew or group of players can exploite the report system sending you to bad sport.

In fact, I specifically remember it happening one time after I had done nothing but general free mode activity for two or three days -- literally not taking part in a single job/event.

 

The weirdest part is that it makes me spawn in a seemingly random location. For instance, I found myself somewhere North of Vinewood after leaving the game close to my garage at the airport.

Sounds like your spawn location is set to random.

You can change it within the options menu.

This is something I don't get either, because I've probably destroyed 1000 times more pvs (usually with bounties) and I do spend time in free mode a good bit.

You know nothing about me, so don't presume to judge. I know what kind of player I am and I'm not dirty. Every single ticket I've sent to Rockstar has been replied to by the same automatic response bollocks. Also contained in the message are the words "your request has been deemed solved". That sounds pretty final to me.

I actually got it quite a bit after I finished races. I might of left the game too early because the next day, I had all the won money in cash.

The bad sport system is a joke but the sessions are better...nothing but a warzone. The only bad thing is that you can't play with friends or crew members. But on topic...most likely you kept getting reported.

but yeah it's pretty damn flawed. Like if you have a dodgy player on your profile. then 1 or 2 reports will get you into badsport. Man they should just stick to 3 days of badsport and thats it. no increasing or anything. the 10th offense is prettttty damn high. f*ck 2 years. you probably wouldn't see anyone in badsport at all.

I was disconnected during a mission a few times due to cloud errors on rockstars part and ive gotten the bad sport warning for leaving jobs early. Bad sport needs to be revised because good players can end up as bad sports even without trying.
