RyanBurnsRed
I'm sorry for being an ignorant little sh*t, but that game looks like a blend of DayZ (Standalone/Epoch) and Rust with a hint of 7 Days To Die. It like blends those 3 games together. I can see if you aren't an avid PC gamer and don't know about those 3 games, or the other numerous post-apocalyptic games that have come out these past few months. But I don't see anything original here. However, I have to say that it's good for PS4 players since they will be able to have a game of this genre to play. Just my 2 cents. The lighting is nice though Still reminds me of DayZ Standalone.
iNero
Part 1 This looks alot better than DayZ. Zombies are a lot more dangerous. Shooting and Melee Mechanics work better even in Pre Alpha Stage. around 1000 players on that maps. The driving physics looks pretty good for such a game. Ragdoll physics, Those features to signal the oponent if you are a friend and so on. Looked awesome so far. FranklinDeRoosevelt
Just shows you how lazy those developers for DayZ really are. DayZ pales in comparison to this. Finally, a proper zombie survival game.
jelly
I remain unconvinced by this, it's still just a new map and skins for Planetside 2. Devhaxing in a bunch of features like vehicles and guns doesn't mean it'll be a good game. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt until the early access hits. gtamann123
I don't want to see this slip too far down the list. Anyways I have decided that I am going to wait it out and get this at its full release instead of getting the DayZ standalone.

Most zombie survival games either fail hard or never progress enough to even fail in the first place. Some of these new survival games promise so much and end up delivering so little. Fireman
It looks really bad, it seriously looks like continuation of War-Z (or Day-Z) under a new name (same engine, same way towns are set up) It's about PvP again, because it's too hard for them to make challenging PvE. Basebuilding is mentioned but is probably going to be another garbage location-bound basebuild with presets. They need to make Project Zomboid in a good engine :x Edited July 1, 2014 by Fireman

Fireman
I checked the videos, if you're one of the developers, enlighten us. Frank Brown
SOE is known for making MMOs, and PvP is basically standard in their games. It might not be P2W, but I bet there's going to be a cash shop filled with permanent clothing and maybe some minor buffs.

It's like a combination of other games that are already out. That's the thing with making a game that dozens of other studios have already done. I don't see anything original about this...it's just a F2P DayZ/ 7 Days To Die/ War Z / Rust in one whole package with microtransactions. The market is full of zombie games with more on the way. They could've done anything with the Planetside 2 engine...and they chose zombies
Lee Everett
H1Z1 is a zombie survival game similar to DayZ and State of Decay. It will be coming out on PC and PS4, I think it's amazing. The developers really want to go very detailed with this. Things you will be able to do include things but not limited to, chop trees down to create your own material, construction (such as buildings and safe houses), call an air drop, supports vehicles, use recipes to create items, use material such as your shirt to create bandages, and a lot more. Honestly this alone is enough to convince me to purchase a PS4, I would love to play this. Apparently their servers can hold 1,000-2,000 players although I don't think they've said what number they will set it to on launch. I think it'd be amazing being able to start your own crew (such as The Walking Dead), assign people jobs, and go out either recruiting or causing havoc. Truly looks amazing. What are your thoughts? Will you be getting it? Edited September 1, 2014 by Lee Everett
Doublepulse
Haven't watched the stream yet, But I definitely am considering playing it when it is released. I just hope they give people some motivation to do more than just KOS people and take everything. That is one of my complaints with these games. No body wants to roleplay and kidnap people or assign group jobs and etc..It is just shoot on sight. This game is also going to be free 2 play. Glass Cloud
Is this actually going to be f2p? Because non whenever someone says f2p they mean you still have to buy the base game but there's no monthly free. If it's actually fully free on ps4 I'm excited. Dayz is a buggy glitchy mess and always will be, and I like the crafting elements and being able to build places to store your loot. OysterBarron
You only have to pay at the moment because it's not released and in early access. Kind of a swizz but not the first alpha/beta I've paid for the goes ftp at the end of early access. All I know is so far with my twenty pound buy in fee all I've done in game is got stuck in a queue to join a server for 20 minutes. I don't have enough time to myself these days to waste on crap like that. Hopefully people start losing interest soon so I can actually get a go but it's to busy at the moment. Glass Cloud
There's no reason to get it now because it's going to be free in the next few months. The only thing I don't like so much is all the towns and cities look the same. Day z is a lot more varied. But everything else is better from what I've seen. You can actually open doors and pick up loot without breaking the game.
CarnageRacing00
I've gotten my monies worth out of the game so far. It's completely functional as of the last few days, apart from missing or unfinished features. I always hear about how awesome DayZ is, but the truth is, DayZ is a glitchy, broken mess of a game. Although it's smaller and has less content, H1Z1 puts DayZ to shame. The best thing about H1Z1 is that the hit registry actually works. When you hit or shoot a zombie, you KNOW it. Same goes for other players. In DayZ, you're never sure until they hit the ground, which could be several seconds after the kill shot. The weapons sound incredible. Hands down, no question, best sounding guns in a video game to date. There's just nothing out there that compares. The pistol packs a punch, the hunting rifle sounds incredible, and by God if you're on the receiving end of a shotgun blast, you might think someone just fired one in your house. The looting and crafting is pretty simple at the moment, but it works. the PROBLEMS with the game, well, there are some glitches - not MANY for a pre-Alpha, but there are some. It's unfinished, obviously, and things are going to change. SOE has been very good about updating and changing things several times a week. They're obviously serious about making this game good. Now the BIG problem with the game.. other players. It's bad enough that some players will just go around killing others for no reason other than just to be dicks, but then you have players blocking doorways to buildings with craft-able items or otherwise being douchebags and trying to break the game. That said, when you encounter players who aren't all about trolling or griefing, the game can be incredible. I've had tense stand offs with other players, both of us shouting to back down and leave the area. I've held up other players with an empty gun. I've been quietly raiding a house only to have 4 other heavily armed players come in and storm through the place, leaving me trembling in the corner trying to decide whether to announce my presence and beg for mercy, or make a run for it. Can you have those experiences in DayZ? Probably, but from what I hear you spend 90% of your time in DayZ all alone, and your very rare encounters with other players usually end in death. So I'm glad H1Z1 has a smaller map. Hell, the server I was just on had a roaming band of hunters killing players. I came across several players in my travels and they all warned me about this hunting party going around, raiding bases and killing everybody. The fact that I met several players in different locations, all of which warned me about the hunters, that's just cool. Made it feel like I was really living in that world. I was on a hillside later on, heard some gun shots so I went prone. I could see Zimm's hardware store clearly, and sure enough, about 8 players came running out of the place chasing two more. They gunned down the two players, looted their stuff and carried on down the road. Must have been the hunters. The game is f*cking incredible when people play it like that - assuming roles and playing them out. It's worth the money, I can't believe they're going to release it as F2P. This could easily be a $60 title when it's finished - it's nearly worth that now.

OurJud
H1Z1 PS4 updates? Most of the info I can find online is from at least 12 months ago, so release dates are hard to come by. I did find a youtube clip suggesting early to mid 2016, which sounds feasible. Another thing I haven't been able to find out is if the game will have a SP offline mode. Anyone shed any light on this? Thanks in advance.
